It Seems Like I Got Transmigated Into An Eroge - Chapter 22 : Deity Spirits
“Frankly, I don’t know. I haven’t thought about it yet, but it seems quite enjoyable.”
“Really? Don’t you aspire to conquer the world or something? Most of the kids I’ve talked to always express their desire to be at the top of everything, to wield power, and to attain fame, and such. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime dream for many.”
“I don’t intend to be impolite, but not everyone shares that perspective.”
“Indeed, our thoughts don’t always align perfectly. So, what are your thoughts then?”
“At first, I found the idea of being strong entertaining, and that mindset hasn’t changed. There’s something about it that gives me a jittery feeling for some reason.”
“And why is that?” Sir Luke inquired.
“No reason, really. Do I need a reason to want to become stronger?”
“Indeed, you do. Do you wish to use your strength for self-defense? To challenge your limits? To protect someone? There are numerous reasons one might have.”
“Hmm… I haven’t contemplated that fully yet… But for now, I can only say that it’s for fun.”
“Then that’s your answer: personal satisfaction.”
“What about you, Sir Luke?”
He chuckled. “Hahaha, do I appear strong to you?”
“Aren’t you a Cardinal? Your rank is just below the pope, and you look younger, which implies something significant.”
“Hahaha, you’re right. But in reality, I’m older than I seem. Don’t be deceived by my outward appearance.”
“No way…”
“Hahaha, can’t blame you. Anyway, we’ve arrived, kiddo.”
We stumbled upon a conspicuous metal door at the far end of the spacious hall. My bewilderment reached its peak upon seeing the door that seemed to be taken straight out of an 1800s prison. At this point, I was at a loss, trying to discern whether I was about to be imprisoned or fed to a monster.
“Um… What exactly is that?”
“It’s the ceremony chamber. Well, it’s not the usual kind, considering yours involves quintessence—a type of mana anomaly even for us. Christine specifically designed this chamber when she gained a spirit. A standard chamber would be destroyed by the intensity of your quintessence. That’s why she created this one to withstand the pressure. Look at what happened to the examination equipment. You didn’t do anything, yet it broke.”
“Um… Actually, I’ve been wondering, who’s Christine?”
“She’s an anomaly herself. No one can predict her thoughts or her nature. We’ve only met once. I assisted her in constructing this chamber, in case more individuals like her, people with quintessence, come into existence. It’s also a way for me to express gratitude for what she did for the church.”
“I see.”
“Do you have any questions?”
“Yes, another one. What am I supposed to do once I enter the chamber?”
“Once inside, you’ll recite these words on this paper when you’re at the center. You must recite them flawlessly, or the process won’t work. While doing that, release an aura that fills the entire chamber before reciting.”
Sir Luke handed me a piece of paper with a prayer or verses written on it. As I took it, my heart started pounding fiercely. The reason? I couldn’t pinpoint exactly why I was getting nervous. Perhaps it was the significance I sensed from receiving this piece of paper?
“Um, what about you?”
“Hm? I’ll stay here, of course. Just in case something goes wrong, I’ll intervene. So, don’t worry.”
“Alright…”
“Well, then.”
Sir Luke opened the metallic door. As it swung open, I was greeted by a vast expanse of darkness. However, after a moment, beams of light illuminated the chamber, revealing unknown writings etched into the cylindrical chamber’s walls. In the center, there stood an empty platform surrounded by translucent, calm blue water. I made my way to the platform’s center.
Once there, I closed my eyes, sat cross-legged, and began focusing, dispersing my quintessence into my surroundings, filling the chamber. The entire room began to tremble, and the tranquil water turned turbulent. In response, I unfolded the paper and started reciting the inscribed words.
“Adorned with the splendor of the heavens, let the light guide me through my darkest hours, dispelling the shadows, illuminating all, and may the heavens reign eternally. The Mother of All shall instill hope in the sinners of the world. I humbly present myself at the gates of heaven, beseeching them to open the path before me.”
As time passed, the chamber rumbled, and the surroundings began to warp and distort, engulfing the space itself. My consciousness dimmed gradually as I swayed, my head growing heavy. Amidst it all, I caught a glimpse of light descending from the chamber’s ceiling.

The wind whispered softly through my hair, the sensations of cold and warmth grazing my skin gracefully. Slowly, I opened my eyes and beheld the blue sky adorned with two crescent white moons gazing down at me. After a moment, I lifted my upper body and surveyed the area.
Before me, a scene unfolded: small floating islands and scattered clouds painted the canvas of the sky, upon one of which I was seated. Apart from these ethereal landmasses, there was nothing—only vast emptiness. Fueled by this, I commenced my exploration of this realm or dimension, leaping from one island to another, a pursuit that persisted for some time.
“Where am I? Is there truly nothing here? Did my prayer go awry?”
As I continued leaping, I encountered a series of floating crystal blocks, appearing like a pathway leading beyond the misty clouds ahead. I stepped onto it and followed the trail, for wandering aimlessly through this desolate expanse promised no results. While traversing it, I stumbled upon three colossal creatures encircling me.
One of these beings was familiar—the White Dragon, the guardian spirit of the protagonist, Shin Morino, and the patron deity of the Belmont Family. The White Dragon’s body resembled that of a serpent, with four limbs akin to a Chinese dragon’s.
To the right stood a ferocious lion, its golden mane radiating like the sun—Nemean lion, known to me through the guardian deity of the Kramer family, the kin of old Claude’s closest friend. On the left, a white-furred fox with spectral nine tails, a creature I knew well: the Kitsune, a renowned yokai from my homeland.
The three entities exuded an imposing aura, hemming me in, as they were among the mightiest guardian spirits worldwide. Despite this, I felt somewhat overwhelmed, for I lacked comprehension of the contracting process. Regret lingered—why hadn’t I queried Sir Luke about the prerequisites and procedures? Such inquiries should have preceded all else… Lost in thought, I pondered how to establish a contract with these formidable beings.
[Kiddo, you’re from the Belmont family, right? Why don’t you make a contract with me? It’s been hundred years ever since I saw someone worthy of my powers.]
[Don’t listen to that idiot. Son, I can see the power within you that would conquer the entire world if I’m your retainer. Why don’t you—]
[Shut up, you two! You clearly underestimate this kid with your nonsense. This king is clearly the best choice, as I’m the strongest between us! How about choosing me, master?]
Unexpectedly, the three started bickering with each other, fighting over me. At that moment, I didn’t expect that making a contract with a spirit would be this easy. Originally, I thought it would be me who will try to appease the three, but it’s the other way around.
[Huh?! You? You’re just an aggressive and hot-headed lion! How can you be the strongest!?]
[Wanna go white dragon?! Let’s fight and see who’s the strongest!]
[Please, stop it, you two. It’s well-known that I’m the strongest, as I have the wisdom and strength to back it up, I’m also benevolent. Unlike you two. And have some shame. You guys didn’t even try to get to know the boy. What’s your name?]
[I already know his name. He’s Claude from the family that I’m protecting—]
Then I butted on their conversation. “Uhm…”
[Yes?]
[Yes?]
[Yes?]
The three responded to me simultaneously.
“I’m not from the Belmont Family anymore. They kicked me out of the family 5 years ago, so…”
[What?! Why?!]
“Well, reasons… And, partially because I don’t have mana.” I shrugged my shoulders.
[Nonsense! How dare they kick out, the only one who’s most suitable for me?! How dare they!]
[Buwahahahaha, this king shall take the opportunity!]
[Aww~ I pity you, white dragon.]
The white dragon’s face looked at me depressingly. While the other two are laughing at him, mocking him continuously without taking accountability that I may still pick him over them since I can use the white dragon for my revenge for the Belmont Family, or whatnot. Watching the three, I wondered why they’re fighting over me. The only answer to that question would be the thing circulating in my body, dwelling within my soul.
“You guys are interested in me because of my quintessence, right?”
Oh come on, where’s the divine rank spirit?
