It only took a smile - Chapter 14- Reunion-2
Class 3-A. The classroom of the elites.
The sections are divided based on the scores of the students during the final exams and their overall performance during the year.
That explains why only elites were gathered here.
Unlike other classes, there were only fifteen students in the class and despite this being the lunch break, no one has left their seats.
Yes, there were a few groups who preferred having lunch together, but there was still quite tranquility in the room.
One of those students was a certain black haired boy as well who sat there, reading a book.
He has already sent people to kill the bug that has been flying around Chihiro these days.
Now that the bug was out of the way, he had something else in mind.
Yes, he would find out why Chihiro’s surveillance camera went off, but that can wait.
He can’t have his old man get any more furious, or he would start meddling with Takashi’s life, and that would be frustrating.
So, to keep him silent, Takashi must do one thing.
Befriend Mai.
His eyes traveled towards the front of the class.
There sat a certain silver-haired girl, her eyes drawn to her phone as she remained detached from others.
Two words that could describe Matsumoto Mai would be uncaring and isolated.
He has never seen her talking with someone for more than a few minutes, and even when she is approached.
Takashi heard she became more isolated since ‘that’ incident two years ago.
It became quite news when the heiress of the Matsumoto family was kidnapped by an underworld organization that mainly operates in Russia.
Since that incident, Mai has become completely detached. She never allows anyone to grow closer to her, and when someone tries, she never thinks twice before pushing them away
That’s why she has gained a bad reputation in the class as well.
That explains Takashi’s hesitation in approaching her. Because he knew how his attempt would fail as well.
But he has to do something. He has to think of something.
“Alright,” he muttered under his breath before getting up.
Slowly, he approached Mai and subconsciously, his eyes went to her mobile screen.
There was an image. A hand-drawn painting.
The upper and lower part of the face was covered but those piercing eyes were visible.
“Is that a character from an anime?”
Mai frowned, turning off her screen before she turned towards the guy, “Who are you?”
Takashi wryly smiled, “Matsumoto-san, I sit in the same class as you. I am Takashi.”
Her wary gaze made him frustrated.
Seventeen confessions within a year. Girls love someone like him. A warm and gentle personality. His reputation was quite good as well among the teachers.
Yet before her, it felt his charms held no meaning.
Mai asked, “What do you need?”
Takashi shook his head, “I was just curious. That picture felt familiar. I thought it was from a movie?”
Mai’s eyes widened for a moment but then her shoulders slumped.
“It’s not,” she plainly responded.
Takashi felt his hope dying with that cold response.
Seeing the light in her eyes, even just for a second, he realized that whoever the person was on her wall, it must be quite important to her.
He picked his topic.
“Maybe if you show me the picture, I can tell you where I have seen him?”
Mai warily looked at him, but before she could have said something that might have embarrassed Takashi, the door of the classroom slid open and before Takashi could turn, someone kicked him from the side, making him fall.
“Ah!”
The commotion instantly caught everyone’s attention as a certain raven-haired entered the class.
His red blood eyes stared down at the fallen boy.
“Who-what are you doing?” Takashi asked, still too stunned to see this guy here.
He sent several people after him, and all those had street fight experience.
‘How did this transfer student defeat all of them and come here?!’
Haruto slid his hands in his pockets and stepped forward, “Rather than sending people why don’t you face me by yourself-”
*DHAK*
Haruto paused. No, he was blocked.
Nope, there was no supporter of Takashi acting up.
He wasn’t even stopped from hitting Takashi further.
He was…simply hugged.
Hugged by a silver fur ball.
Haruto looked down and asked, “Umm…hello?”
The girl seemed to be trembling as she muttered, “Found you.”
