Is it okay for a loner like me to have a yandere? - Chapter 11- Plans?
*tah* *tah*
Two party poppers were shot as I and Suzune-san relayed our decision.
We…agreed to get engaged.
Why? Well, I am seriously asking myself now why I agreed.
I shouldn’t have cared about her feelings…but then her grandpa’s health was not good. But should I have sacrificed myself for his happiness?
This whole thing could be a trap…a way for her to take revenge on me. And I have stepped into the trap with a happy smile.
“I am really happy for you two!” Ayumi-san cheered as she hugged us.
‘God…she smells so ni-‘
My train of thought was broken as I saw Suzune-san glaring at me from the side.
W-What? She couldn’t read my thoughts, right?
I stopped sniffing, stopped breathing altogether.
She moved away, and the next person who spoke was the grey-haired man and the former patriarch of the family—Takahashi Hiroshi.
“I am thankful that you listened to our request and accepted Suzune.” He gave a soft bow, making me flustered.
“Y-You don’t have to bow. It’s really okay.” I couldn’t blurt out words like ‘It’s my pleasure’ or ‘I have been hiding my feelings for her until now’ since that would have been a lie.
Jiichan grinned as he patted his friend’s back and said, “With this, our friendship has taken another step. We are now in-laws!”
They suddenly hugged, laughing merrily.
The two ladies also smiled side by side and the two Dads shook their hands, exchanging a firm nod.
…aren’t they like getting too familiar too quickly?
This engagement is fake, y’know-
“Aki-kun.” I heard a soft voice from my left.
I glanced at Suzune-san and heard her saying, “I am glad I met you again. Thank you for listening to my selfish request.”
She…seemed happy…or was it fake?
I couldn’t tell…but looking at her innocent eyes, I couldn’t stop myself from smiling and nodding, “I am happy to see you again today.”
I held her gaze for a few seconds.
Her deep pink eyes always captivated me, even as a kid. I don’t know why, but they gave me peace…as if even the world is burning around me; I can remain calm if I am looking at her…standing beside her.
Taking out those few moments from our childhood where she wasn’t abusing me, then there are a few instances where I have seen her smiling at me.
And this…was one of those real smiles.
“We should celebrate the occasion!” Said the former Patriarch in a loud enough tone to break my daze.
I turned towards the elders and found they all agreed to it.
But, “Uh…I have school so I must return home now.”
My words were like cold water poured on them—they all turned silent and looked at me.
What? I didn’t say anything wrong. As a student in his third year, I can’t afford to miss a single day.
Goddamn, Jiichan! Why do you look like I have disappointed you?
“Your school starts the day after tomorrow. No need to rush.” My mom told me with a dismissive frown.
Guh, why are you sounding like you want to stay here?
“That’s perfect! Then you must stay here tonight. We have so many things to talk about.” Said Ayumi-san in an excited voice.
“Ahahah! I can crush this guy in mahjong tonight then.” My grandpa was double excited. Easy there old man, we can’t have you start clutching your chest and falling on your knees.
“That’s a very good idea. Please stay here today, Hikaru-san.” My Dad was requested by the Patriarch. Well, the way others have already agreed I knew what my father would say.
“Then…sorry for intruding.”
Kenji-san chuckled, “Not at all. You are more than welcome. We are in-laws now after all.” He patted my Dad’s shoulder as he said so.
Great…so they all decided to stay without asking me.
Mom…you know I feel uncomfortable sleeping anywhere but on my bed, right?
But saying anything here to show my reluctance would make this awkward. And I didn’t want to put my parents in a tough spot. So I just went with the flow.
….
A few hours later, we were gathered around the dining table for dinner.
The two old men were still glued to the gaming table, so, they didn’t come.
It was surprising how well our families got along.
My mother and Ayumi-san seemed like they were childhood friends reuniting.
The way they gossiped and giggled was quite surprising and heartwarming.
My mum doesn’t have many friends so seeing her having fun makes me feel relieved.
Dad, as well, seemed to be in a serious discussion with Kenji-san. He was listening most of the time, so he must be gaining knowledge from one of the leading businessmen.
Damn…I bet he had never dreamt of this day.
A man whom he could normally never even see from afar was having a dining table conversation with him.
Considering how big of a workaholic my Dad is, I am sure he is having the time of his life.
“So, Suz-chan,” My mum called out, gaining our attention, “What are your plans for the future?”
Suzune-san smiled beautifully, her eyes drawing to the table as she said, “I will slowly develop a connection with him and then get officially engaged. And then we might start dating and if things go well then marriage-”
“Suzu-chan~” Her mother interrupted, fortunately, before adding, “She is asking about your studies.”
Every adult had a smile on their face.
My face was blank…just staring at the girl in shock.
Not because of what she said. But because this was the first time I had seen her blushing so much.
…isn’t this bully a little too adorable?
I suddenly wanna hug her.
******
A/N:- I bet she will faint. Go easy on her, Aki.
