Chapter 33: Fake Aoi vs. Yuka, and the Real Aoi-chan
“You, you’re the fake Aoi-chan, aren’t you!?”
“A fake Aoi?”
Yuuka looked at me.
She was being held from behind by the fake Aoi-chan, with a knife to her throat.
“That’s right! That Aoi-chan is not the real Aoi-chan. She’s an imposter from another world.”
I explained to Yuka.
“……An Aoi from another parallel world. No wonder she smells rotten.”
Yuka said, then slightly shifted her body and elbowed the fake Aoi-chan in the stomach.
“Guh!”
The fake Aoi-chan groaned and bent over, falling to the ground.
The knife clattered to the ground.
Yuuka quickly kicked the knife away and stepped on the fake Aoi-chan’s back as she crouched on the ground.
She then twisted the fake Aoi-chan’s arm and shouted in a menacing voice.
“You disgusting maggot! What are you after?”
“Damn! I let my guard down… Guh.”
“I’ve been a target of you maggots since the day I was born. I’m used to it.”
The language coming from Yuuka was something I could never imagine her using normally.
“Y-Yuuka… Are you okay?”
“Koichi, stay back. You’re not used to this kind of scene.”
Yuka looked at me and smiled slyly.
Just then, I saw the fake Aoi-chan pull out something that looked like a syringe from her sleeve.
“Yuuka! Watch out!”
I hurriedly tried to warn Yuuka, but it was too late.
The fake Aoi-chan skillfully manipulated the syringe with her free hand and injected it into Yuuka’s ankle.
“Ah!”
Yuuka was startled and kicked the fake Aoi-chan’s hand, but it was too late.
“Wh…What did you just inject into me… You bitch!”
“Hmph… I’ll mess up your destiny.
But if we advance towards the dark divergence and the infinite portal opens, people from other world lines will come flooding in.
That’s not what we of the 1145H-B desire.
It will cause confusion and lead to the destruction of this world.”
Yuuka collapsed to her knees.
“Th…Then… If you don’t want the dark divergence… Stay away from me!”
“My goal is you, Koichi. I want you to become my underling. I want you to control the portal, not on Hiruma Touko’s orders, but on mine.”
“……I see.”
I pretended to understand, even though I barely understood what they were talking about.
“In one week, at 2 a.m. in the middle of the night, bring the portal and come alone to the university dojo.
Otherwise, I’ll mess with the destiny of Yamaguchi Yuuka.”
“Wait a minute!”
I decided to ask questions because I thought it would be dangerous if I just kept pretending to understand.
“Can you explain it in a way that’s easier to understand?
What should I do?
I’ll do anything, so just leave for now.”
“Koichi…… Don’t listen to what this person says…”
Yuuka was lying on the ground.
She was looking at me with unfocused eyes.
“Yuuka! Damn! What happened to you?”
“I just injected her with a sleeping drug.”
The fake Aoi-chan whistled by covering her mouth with her hand, and suddenly a group of men appeared from somewhere.
“These are men I hired in this world.
If you don’t show up at the dojo alone at 2 a.m. one week from now,
I’ll have these men attack Yamaguchi Yuuka as a start. Over and over again.
She’ll taste humiliation and become disgusted with men. That will surely lead her down the path of the dark divergence.”
“Don’t say disgusting things! I won’t let that happen!”
I lunged at one of the men.
However, he easily shoved me away.
“Koichi, you’ll get hurt…… Just… Leave me…”
Yuuka reached out her hand towards me.
“Yuuka!”
Just then…
“Damn! I can’t stand here and watch anymore. I’ll fight!”
Aoi-chan suddenly appeared from the bushes behind us.
“Aoi! When did you get here?”
Yuuka shouted.
“It’s my job to keep an eye on Yamaguchi-senpai.
I was watching to make sure no one did anything strange to her!
But when the other me showed up, I couldn’t reveal myself.”
“That’s right! There’s another Aoi! It’s dangerous if the two of you make eye contact!”
“We don’t have time for that now!
I was born to protect Yamaguchi-senpai.
I’m ready to die if necessary.”
“A, Aoi… For someone like me…”
Aoi-chan slowly approached the fake Aoi-chan.
I deeply regretted not practicing Shorinji Kempo more seriously.
