Chapter 14: The Revenger Reven Exacts Further Revenge
Having exacted his revenge on Bichi, Reven was now taking out his frustration on the staff member who said they couldn’t hire him.
“What do you mean I’m not hired?!”
“Gyaaaah!”
Immediately, Reven pinned the staff member to the wall and began pecking at him like a woodpecker.
“What the hell is going on?!”
“W-well! I mean, you have no education or work history, and you’re over thirty, and it’s a bit much to take someone with no experience…”
As he tried to make excuses, Reven pulled out a bottle.
“You should be grateful I even showed interest in your crappy organization! Besides, job hunting is just about getting paid—anywhere will do!”
(That’s exactly why you’re still unemployed…)
Roaks thought this but simply watched as Reven dumped honey all over the man’s head.
“Gubaaah!”
“You need workers, don’t you?! Then hire me! Hire me already!”
This was outright coercion now.
“No, I’m telling you it’s impossible!”
“Is it because I’m such a bland nobody that people call me ‘Cocky Isekai Taro’?! That’s not a valid reason!”
“No, you’re way too much of a character!”
“Don’t criticize my appearance!”
Reven then executed a backdrop on the staff member.
“If anything, I feel like ‘Revenge Grudge Taro’ would be more accurate…”
“Why is that the part you’re commenting on?! Help your colleague already! That old guy’s gone completely berserk!”
“I don’t like him anyway…”
“That’s personal! And wasn’t that old guy’s goal supposed to be revenge against the hero party?! Why has this turned into an employment issue?! This is way too one-sided!”
Despite Roaks’s protests, the staff member continued to receive a thorough beating from Reven.
“Lumie-chan, don’t say that. Go stop him.”
Even when Flam urged her to intervene, Lumie maintained her aloof attitude.
That’s when it happened.
“My, what a coincidence. So you’ve come here as well.”
A dignified woman’s voice echoed through the room.
“Th-that voice…”
Having heard the voice, Reven stopped his attack.
The person then walked briskly into the room, revealing themselves.
“I didn’t expect to see you here…”
“Yes, what a true coincidence.”
The person chuckled and answered.
“Good grief, to think we’d meet this many times in a row…”
“Fufu, I’m quite surprised myself.”
Then he called out the person’s name.
“Hamidick!”
“Yo!”
There stood a person named Hamidick.
Who, incidentally, was male.
“Who the hell is that?!”
“Hamidick-san?”
“You know him?!”
“Yeah, he’s a somewhat well-known merchant in the Serenade Kingdom. Seems like he’s a fish seller.”
While Flam was explaining, Hamidick walked over toward Reven with measured steps.
“Are you unemployed?”
When Hamidick asked cheerfully, Reven answered as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
“No, I’m jobless. It’s my pride right now.”
“This old guy just casually dropped a crazy answer.”
At those words, Hamidick smiled warmly and said:
“Hmm, then how about working for me?”
At those words, Reven’s face brightened instantly.
“Really?! And what’s the job?”
“Well, you’ll understand once you join.”
“Ehh, so it’s manual labor then~”
“Fo fo fo fo, that’s correct.”
“It’s not a doctor or emperor position?!”
Upon hearing that single sentence, Reven immediately tore Hamidick to shreds.
“Gubooooh!”
“I’m not taking any job unless it’s a doctor or emperor! Scum!”
Saying this, Reven grabbed Hamidick’s arm and slammed it to the ground.
“Babble Two-Sword Style Secret Technique: ‘Total Asset Transfer’!”
With that declaration, Reven severed Hamidick’s finger.
“He busted out an ultra-vindictive technique!”
Snap!
“Gyaaaah! M-my finger!”
“What did this guy even do?!”
Then he forcibly pressed the finger to documents written to transfer all assets.
“Gehehe. Now I’m a millionaire! Come on, take this to the government office!”
At that moment, someone received it.
“Understood.”
Then that person burned the documents with blue flames.
“What the hell are you doing?!”
For some reason, Reven punched Hamidick with all his might.
“Gubo!”
Then, as if to finish things off, he released beasts from his carry case.
“Feed him to the dogs. Revenge for Patroclus.”
What came out of the carry case were three gorilla-like monsters.
“Who’s that?! Wait, uwaaah! Those weird monsters appeared again!”
The monsters tried to eat Hamidick.
“Wait!”
However, someone intervened to stop them.
It was Sour, one of the hero party members who was Reven’s revenge target.
The harassment he inflicted on Reven is omitted because it’s tedious.
“Sour?!”
“Please, he’s my brother. I beg you to spare him!”
At that, Reven nodded.
“Forgiven! And enemy general slain as a bonus!”
“Gyaaaah! You have no mercy!”
Sour died from a single strike by Reven, and his corpse was eaten by the gorilla-like monsters along with Hamidick.
With this, four of the twelve hero party members Reven sought revenge against had been defeated.
“Phew, to think I could get revenge on two people in one day…”
“Huh? This guy was also a revenge target?! That was way too casual?!”
Having watched the entire sequence, Elmia clapped.
“Well done. To think you’d defeat my seniors so easily.”
“Oh, you were here?”
Reven said with little interest.
“Fufu, you’re as chaotic as ever. It’s been a while, boy. And even Princess Flam is here—what a wonderful day. I have good news for all of you today.”
She sat down on top of the collapsed Bichi and began to speak.
