Chapter 51: Bring Him Before Me At All Costs
◆
[Emperor’s POV]
“What is this…?”
Given Kaisar didn’t come and instead received just a letter, I was already struggling to contain my anger. Reading the letter’s content made it even harder to control my future, which I now silently let loose.
If the contents are real, Kaisar is guilty of disrespect and seems to want to die.
Perhaps he sensed my sour mood and murderous intent.
The guards, concubines, and the servant who delivered the letter to me were all trembling in fear, even though I had not directed my anger directly at them.
Especially the servant, who brought me the letter, had a pale face.
I couldn’t help but feel sorry for him.
All of this was Kaisar’s fault. I couldn’t forgive him for treating me like this.
And so, I crumpled up the letter and threw it on the floor, then stood up and crushed it underfoot.
I must have him brought before me at all costs.
“I’ve never been so insulted as the Emperor before…!”
“I-I am terribly sorry! I deeply apologize!”
“It’s fine. It’s not your fault. It’s all because of that idiot Kaisar, who, without realizing he’s being manipulated by someone behind the scenes, has become so arrogant that he ignores my summons as the Emperor and dares to find fault with me. He’s mostly to blame.”
“Thank you very much! That’s right!! Everything is that Kaisar’s fault!”
Just as I said that the servant who brought the letter visibly breathed a sigh of relief and agreed with me.
“However, the fact remains that you brought me a letter that angered me…”
“Huh?”
However, that doesn’t excuse the fact that he brought such a letter all the way to me. Under normal circumstances, I would have killed him on the spot, but killing him now would be easy yet pointless since it wouldn’t bring Kaisar’s death.
“However, killing you here would be hasty. I’ll give you a chance. No matter the means, even if you have to cut off all his limbs and crawl, bring that foolish Kaisar to me by any means necessary. Then, I’ll forgive your sins.”
