- I Was Stranded on a Deserted Island with a Beautiful Classmate
- Chapter 58 - Harem Survival - Battle for Survival Part 4 (Survivors)
It’s completely dark.
I can’t see anything, and I don’t know where anything is.
I took out my smartphone and turned it on.
The screen lit up, slightly illuminating the surroundings.
But it’s still mostly dark.
Where am I?
“Hey, Kitakami-san! Where are you?”
“…Shh. I’m over here.”
“Huh? Over there?”
It seems like she’s hiding behind some rocks. I’m glad she’s safe, but it looks like she’s on guard about something.
“Tetsu-kun, stay quiet.”
“Before that, where are we?”
“This must be an underground cave. That hill we were on earlier wasn’t actually a hill but rather a place where the soil had piled up. It seems the ground gave way when we stepped on it.”
“Is that what happened?”
“That’s my guess. But we’re in serious trouble.”
“Serious?”
“I can sense three people over there. Sasayama-san might be with them.”
“Right, where’s Sasayama…Wait, what the heck is that?”
Peeking out from behind the rocks, I saw an open area ahead. There were two men sitting by a campfire.
“Damn, another collapse? This place is dangerous, huh, Akira?”
“Yeah…Kurashima was talking about building a harem empire or something, but we followed Tachikawa’s plan. Now we’re endlessly wandering underground. I’m getting really sick of it.”
“This cave is way too big for a deserted island, isn’t it? Is there really any treasure here?”
Who are those guys?
Judging by their school uniforms, they must be students from our school, but…There are male survivors? And in this creepy cave?
“Kitakami-san, what do you think?”
“Yes, they must be survivors. However, from their conversation, they seem to be connected to Kurashima or Tachikawa.”
“So, that makes them our enemies?”
“Yes. If we run into them, it might lead to a fight.”
That may be true, but I’m more worried about Sasayama.
Where did she go?
I looked around, but it’s too dark to see anything.
The only light is coming from the campfire those guys made. The area looks pretty big, and there seems to be some kind of water flow, like a river or maybe the sea.
As I was thinking about what to do, the men started moving.
Huh? What are they doing?
“Hey, no way. There’s someone here in this cave?”
“Talk about lucky, Tanaka. It’s a girl. She’s covered in mud, though.”
“Yeah, that’s the girl from our grade. Is this what Kurashima was talking about?”
“So, it’s true that the surface is filled with women?”
“Better to be up there with the girls than stuck in this stinking cave. We could have all the fun we want with them, right? Akira, let’s head back to the surface.”
“Calm down, Tanaka. First, let’s deal with this one. She’s plain, but not bad…perfect for a meal.”
The two guys, Tanaka and Akira, glared at Sasayama.
If those jerks lay a hand on my friend, I won’t forgive them.
“…No, stop!”
“She said stop, Akira.”
“How cute. This is gonna be fun.”
Tanaka and Akira started approaching Sasayama. They’re going to attack her while she’s defenseless!
“Kitakami-san, I’m going to help her.”
“Be careful, Tetsu-kun. Those two might be armed.”
“…No way. Do you think they have guns?”
“Considering they mentioned Kurashima and Tachikawa, it’s suspicious.”
Damn it. If that’s true…just how many guns are in circulation? It’s probably all Kurashima’s fault. His backers are dangerous.
“A Desert Eagle would be too heavy. Take my…well, it was originally Kubo’s, but use the ‘FZ Five-seveN MK3 MRD’.”
She really knows her stuff, being a survival game enthusiast. It even has a micro red dot sight and an LED light. Pretty well-equipped.
“This looks easy to handle.”
“Yes, and it uses the same 5.7x28mm ammo as the PP90. It’s powerful enough to pierce body armor.”
“No way! That’s amazing.”
“Yes, it’s too dangerous to be in regular circulation. It must’ve come from the black market.”
Kurashima’s organization must be behind this…
Anyway, I borrowed the Five-seveN from Kitakami.
“But are you sure I’m the right one to do this? Wouldn’t it be better if you handled it?”
“I’ll assist from another direction.”
I nodded and focused back on the situation. Tanaka and Akira were about to pounce on Sasayama. But I shouted and jumped out.
“Stop!!!”
At my shout, Tanaka and Akira turned to look at me in surprise.
“Huh? Who the hell are you?”
“There’s another one? And a guy, no less.”
“I’ll say this only once. Get away from Sasayama-san, or I’ll shoot.”
“Shoot us? — Wait, Akira! That guy’s got a gun!”
“Idiot. That’s gotta be a fake. It’s an airsoft gun for sure.”
So, they don’t have any weapons?
“This is a real gun.”
“Yeah, right. Get lost, weakling!”
Tanaka started charging at me.
I didn’t want to waste a bullet, but…I had no choice but to fire a warning shot.
I aimed for a spot just next to Tanaka’s cheek.
‘Boom!!!’
With a loud bang, the bullet grazed his cheek.
“Huh? Aaaahhhh!!!”
Blood trickled down Tanaka’s cheek. Realizing it was a real gun, he freaked out and ran away. Akira yelled, “Are you serious?!” and bolted after him.
“Well, that wasn’t much of a challenge.”
“Hayasaka-kun! You came to save me!”
“Of course I did.”
“Thank you! Thank you so much…”
Sasayama started crying in relief.
I’m just glad she’s safe.
“Kitakami-san, it’s all clear here.”
“Good work, Tetsu-kun. But stay on guard.”
“Roger that. Now…how do we get out of here?”
The hole we fell through is too deep to climb back up. If we try to force our way up, we’ll just slip in the mud and fall…it’s dangerous.
“Let’s head further into the cave, in the opposite direction of those men.”
“Yeah. If they come after us, we’ll fight back without mercy.”
“Yes. We have guns, after all.”
And so, our cave exploration began.
We moved in the opposite direction of those men.
…
We walked in silence for what must have been thirty minutes.
This underground cave seems to go on forever, stretching over a vast distance. It’s absurdly large. What the hell is going on here?
Just as we started to feel tired, I sensed something.
“Wait…someone’s here. I hope it’s not more dangerous people.”
“Tetsu-kun, there are two girls over there. They look exhausted, sitting down.”
“Huh? Wait, isn’t that Chitose and Momose?!”
So that’s where they were…
I’m glad they’re okay. They must have gotten swept away too.
