- I Was Stranded on a Deserted Island with a Beautiful Classmate
- Chapter 52 - I Want to Make Everyone Happy
After eating some chocolate and regaining my strength, I checked the situation outside.
“…It looks like we can’t go out.”
The rain was coming down hard, even seeping through the peephole. Maybe we should cover it with a tarp.
I sealed the hole to stop the rainwater from coming in.
“Thanks, Hayasaka-kun.”
“Don’t mention it, Kotobuki.”
Next, we needed light, but I didn’t want to use the flashlight much since it would waste the batteries.
“It’s freezing…Hey, how about we make a fire?”
“No way, Amane.”
“Huh…?”
“Making a fire inside a building is dangerous. You could die from carbon monoxide poisoning.”
“W-Whaaat!?”
“You see it on the news sometimes, don’t you? Accidents where people die in tents or mountain huts? They die from poisoning because they use fires or gas.”
Though the bunker wasn’t completely airtight, it was still dangerous. Better safe than sorry.
“That said, we’re soaked from the rain…it’s getting pretty cold.”
Amane, Kitakami, and I were all drenched. If we stayed like this, we’d catch a cold. Since we couldn’t dry our clothes, we had no choice but to change.
“Let’s change into our gym clothes.”
“I was about to suggest that, Kitakami-san.”
Kitakami had brought gym clothes for all of us in her school bag. We took them and were about to change, but Amane and I stopped.
“Don’t look, Hayasaka-kun…Turn around.”
“O-Okay.”
I turned my back. I couldn’t exactly watch Amane change, could I?
I could hear her changing hurriedly behind me.
“Good, my underwear is still dry. I’m changing now.”
“Hurry up, I’m freezing.”
“…Okay, I’m done.”
It seemed like she was finished, so I turned around.
And then—
“I’m not done yet.”
Kitakami was standing there…in her underwear!
“Wha-wha-wha!! Kitakami-san…!”
“Tetsu-kun, did you really want to see me in my underwear that badly?”
“That’s not it! You’re the one showing off, Kitakami-san!”
Amane, standing next to me in shock, suddenly realized what was happening and shouted.
“Kitakami-san, why are you still in your underwear!? Hayasaka-kun can see you! Hurry up and change! And Hayasaka-kun, stop staring!”
“Y-Yes…”
I was scolded and had to turn away again. It was Kitakami’s fault, but…well, at least I got to see something good.
***
Finally, we all changed into our gym clothes. But then another problem arose.
“Why are you staring at me, Tetsu-kun?”
“Kitakami-san, why are you hanging your underwear to dry!?”
“Unfortunately, my underwear got wet.”
But why hang it where I can see it!? Also, that means she’s currently…without a bra or underwear. What a situation…
At least she wasn’t wearing a skirt.
“Ugh…the storm outside is terrible.”
“Yes. I’m worried about Yaegashi and the others.”
“Yeah…I wonder how they’re doing now.”
Both Amane and Kotobuki looked anxious.
There was nothing we could do. All we could do was wait out the storm inside the bunker.
By tomorrow, the weather should clear up.
Once it does, we can explore the area. Maybe the rescue team Yaegashi and the others called will come, and we can go home. Let’s think positively.
Before I knew it, Kotobuki had fallen asleep.
“She’s asleep, huh? Kotobuki-san.”
Amane peeked at Kotobuki’s face. She must have been full and got sleepy.
“We should sleep too. We’ll start acting tomorrow.”
“Yeah, but…”
Amane sat next to me. Kitakami did the same on the other side.
…I was sandwiched between them.
“…Both of you.”
“Hayasaka-kun, talk with me.”
“No, talk with me. Amane-san, you should sleep.”
“W-What? You’ve been clinging to Hayasaka-kun for a while now, Kitakami-san!”
“You should back off too, Amane-san. He belongs to me.”
“B-Belongs!? What do you mean by that, Hayasaka-kun!?”
Amane glared at me, and my head felt like it was going to explode. Wait, wait! Kitakami-san’s words are misleading! Sure, I’m happy, but this is only making things worse between them!
I had no choice but to intervene.
“Amane, Kitakami-san…I’ve been meaning to say this for a while, but you two need to get along!”
I took their hands and forced them to shake.
Amane reluctantly took Kitakami’s hand, and Kitakami, though awkward, accepted.
“So, Hayasaka-kun…you don’t want to choose one of us?”
“W-Well, I don’t have much experience with romance. I really don’t know what to do. But after thinking about it…I just want everyone to be happy.”
When I laid my feelings bare, the two of them looked at each other—and burst out laughing.
“Pfft…Ahaha!”
“That’s so mean! You don’t have to laugh at me like that!”
They both clutched their stomachs, laughing. How is this so funny to them?
“Sorry, sorry. But yeah, I don’t have any experience with romance either,” Amane said.
“Yeah, you did mention that, Amane.”
It’s hard to believe, given that she’s a real idol, but if she says so, I believe her.
“I don’t either, Tetsu-kun,” Kitakami added.
“Kitakami-san too? I figured you’d be popular as an airsoft geek.”
“Not really. Besides, I like strong guys like you, Tetsu-kun.”
Amane and Kitakami both leaned their heads on my shoulders, looking calm.
…I never thought they’d do something like this.
I didn’t know they trusted me this much.
And it made me really happy—so happy.
Amane and Kitakami’s warmth felt so comforting, I started to feel sleepy.
I’ll lean on them too.

The next morning.
I opened my heavy eyelids and looked around. There were only concrete walls—it reminded me that I was still in the bunker.
The storm, which had been roaring all night, was finally quiet.
“…”
The sunlight was dazzling. Was it morning already?
When I tried to get up, I realized I was still sandwiched between Amane and Kitakami. They were both still asleep.
…Their sleeping faces are too cute.
While I watched them, I heard Amane mumbling. I listened closely.
“Hayasaka-kun…I like you.”
…Whaaat!?!?
My heart skipped a beat, and my mind went blank. Wait, was that Amane’s real feelings? But it was just sleep talk, so I couldn’t be sure.
As I was panicking, Kitakami suddenly opened her eyes and looked at me.
“Good morning, Tetsu-kun.”
“W-When did you wake up?”
“Now, let’s have a good morning kiss.”
“W-Wait, what!?”
Kitakami moved in closer, taking advantage of the fact that I couldn’t move, but Kotobuki woke up just in time, saving me from the situation.
“Good morni— Wait, Hayasaka-kun’s sandwiched between Amane and Kitakami!? What’s going on!?”
Kotobuki was panicking, and yeah, that’s a normal reaction.
“By the way, I say ‘sandwich’ like ‘sandwich’ with an English accent. There’s a comedian who does that too.”
“That doesn’t matter, Kitakami-san…Just get off me. I want to check outside.”
“Fine.”
Kitakami moved away. Now I just had to wake Amane…but then I realized something important.

Are we reading about Japanese? Same ones having a hearth in the middle of a house (not even a stove)? WTF?
