I Was Sent to an All-Female Frontline Unit to Get Rid of Some of the Trouble, but the Most Beautiful Girls Who Are Rumored to Hate Men Love Me So Much That I Have a Hard Time at Night - Chapter 55: Change (1)
Chapter 55: Change (1)
“Dear Deandre, I heard your words earlier… but are you really entrusting Narcissus with the major task of killing Finn Teraward?” the obese man asked anxiously.
The obese man observed Narcissus and spoke with concern.
Deandre nodded at his words and responded confidently.
“Yes. I admit his personality has flaws, but his skill is undeniable… His past achievements make that fact well-known,” Deandre stated firmly.
“That’s true, but…” the obese man conceded hesitantly.
Still, the obese man couldn’t shake his unease about Narcissus’s flawed personality.
However, Narcissus spoke boldly to the obese man.
“I don’t understand why you worry so much. For someone like me, a commoner would fall in a single blow… No, ending it in one blow would lack flair for the show. Even for a commoner, giving them some spotlight would ultimately highlight me, wouldn’t it…? But no matter how much I hold back, a commoner enduring my powerful magic attack…! What a tragedy! My strength is a burden! So frustrating! Why am I so… so…!!” Narcissus boasted dramatically.
Narcissus had been addressing the obese man, but that was in the past.
Now, Narcissus immersed himself in his own world, intoxicated by himself.
The obese man no longer voiced his unease.
He stood speechless as a well-dressed man with a slight beard looked at Narcissus and spoke.
“Hm? I thought you looked familiar… Are you perhaps Narcissus from the duke’s family?” the bearded man asked curiously.
Narcissus, the young man with side-swept hair, turned to the man and nodded.
“Yes, I am indeed Narcissus,” Narcissus confirmed proudly.
“I see. I haven’t seen you since a party years ago, but you’ve grown splendidly… As an old acquaintance, if you complete this mission successfully, I’ll ensure a higher position for you in the military. How does that sound?” the bearded man offered generously.
In the Luvankrum Empire’s military, gaining promotions through connections was common among nobles.
In fact, more than half secured their status through such ties.
For Narcissus, his skill added to this, so Deandre nodded without hesitation.
“Of course. Considering his skill and duke family background, a higher position in the military benefits us nobles greatly,” Deandre agreed readily.
“That’s the deal, Narcissus-kun. Take this mission seriously,” the bearded man urged encouragingly.
“Yes! I, Narcissus, will surely take down the commoner troubling everyone, and I’ll do it spectacularly!” Narcissus declared confidently.
The “spectacularly” part wasn’t crucial for Deandre and the others.
But since Narcissus was from a duke’s family, a grand stage for defeating Finn, a commoner, was preferable.
Either way, as long as Narcissus killed Finn, Deandre and the others had no complaints, so they said nothing about it.
“Now, let’s get to the main topic… but first,” Deandre began purposefully.
Deandre turned to the purple-haired woman.
“Have you decided who to send for the dispatch unit search?” Deandre asked directly.
“Yes. I summarized it in these documents, so please review the list—” the purple-haired woman replied calmly.
The purple-haired woman spoke for the first time that day.
As Narcissus caught sight of her, he widened his eyes in awe and spoke.
“Are you the woman renowned as the strongest in the Luvankrum Empire’s military, holding a seat in the upper ranks and born to a duke’s family?” Narcissus asked admiringly.
“Yes, but what does that have to do with anything now?” the purple-haired woman responded coldly.
“Oh, it matters. I’ve only seen you from afar before, but up close, you’re truly beautiful! The most beautiful woman I’ve ever met. How about dinner with me sometime?” Narcissus proposed boldly.
The purple-haired woman instantly thought of sixteen ways to kill Narcissus.
Seven of them she could execute immediately, but ruining the plan by acting emotionally now was unacceptable.
Her hesitation lasted only a moment, and she replied almost instantly.
“I’ll pass,” the purple-haired woman declined firmly.
Normally, one would back off here.
But Narcissus, unable to fathom being the reason for her refusal, spoke again without hesitation.
“I see, dinner wasn’t good…? Then how about lunch at a restaurant I frequent?” Narcissus suggested persistently.
The purple-haired woman had held back once, but being invited to a meal by a man other than Finn—something that sparked chills, disgust, and even murderous intent—pushed her limits.
“If I must spell it out—” the purple-haired woman began sharply.
She started to voice her refusal without holding back her emotions.
But before she could finish, Deandre interrupted.
“Narcissus, that’s enough. If you truly anger her, even we might not handle the consequences,” Deandre warned sternly.
“I don’t recall angering her… but fine,” Narcissus replied casually.
Narcissus toyed with his bangs.
“We’re on duty now. For now, let’s discuss killing the commoner Finn Teraward,” Narcissus suggested smoothly.
“That’s fine. Will you forgive Narcissus’s rudeness for now?” Deandre asked cautiously.
“Yes, of course,” the purple-haired woman agreed reluctantly.
Their path was already set.
Unaware of the purple-haired woman’s inner thoughts, Deandre spoke to reset the discussion.
“Now, to the main topic… To lure Finn Teraward to the city and kill him, speed is key. That’s why I gathered you all so early today. The first step is to send a messenger to lure Finn Teraward to the city—” Deandre began explaining clearly.
As the purple-haired woman watched Deandre, she recalled his earlier words.
“Narcissus, that’s enough. If you truly anger her, even we might not handle the consequences,” she remembered silently.
Lowering her face with vacant eyes, she whispered too softly for anyone to hear.
“Too late… You who plan to kill Finn will soon face our hands—” she muttered ominously.

Waking to the familiar sunlight streaming through stylish windows, Finn slowly sat up.
He left his room to head to the living room for breakfast.
Then…
“Ah! F-Finn-kun! Good morning!” Elena greeted nervously.
Elena’s presence was there, as usual.
Seeing Elena made Finn recall yesterday’s events, but he couldn’t ignore her greeting, so he replied immediately.
“G-Good morning, Elena-san!” Finn responded quickly.
He said “as usual,” but Elena seemed different, somewhat awkward.
As Finn wondered why, Elena spoke up.
“F-Finn-kun, about yesterday… I’m sorry again! Not only did I catch your face in my boobs, but I asked for your thoughts afterward…! Thinking calmly now, having your face caught in my boobs must have been really unpleasant…!” Elena apologized earnestly.
What…!?
Realizing Elena’s huge misunderstanding, Finn spoke in a clear voice.
“I didn’t think it was unpleasant!” Finn declared firmly.
“…Huh?” Elena responded in surprise.
Saying it wasn’t unpleasant might carry strange implications, but Finn hated the idea of Elena thinking he disliked it even more, so he continued.
“I was embarrassed, that’s true, but I didn’t feel it was bad!” Finn clarified sincerely.
“But… it was my boobs! Even if it was an accident, catching your face in them isn’t exactly wholesome…” Elena protested hesitantly.
“If it was someone I didn’t know, it might have been a bit scary… but with your chest, Elena-san, it wasn’t scary at all!” Finn reassured earnestly.
“My chest, then…” Elena murmured softly.
When Finn said this, Elena widened her eyes greatly.
Then, blushing, she began muttering.
“Hold off until I prepare in town…! Hold off until I prepare in town…! Hold off until I prepare in town…! Until—” Elena whispered repeatedly.
Finn couldn’t hear exactly what she said, but he caught the word “town” several times.
Perhaps Elena’s wish worked, because around noon…
“You of the front-line unit will move to the city for a while!” a messenger from the higher-ups announced firmly.
The messenger from the upper ranks arrived at the front-line base and delivered those words.
