ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
After that, I went with Sakurajima to the animal hospital and had them examine the kitten. For the moment, it seemed the kitten didn’t have any injuries or illnesses, so I let out a relieved sigh. After the examination was over, we immediately headed back to my apartment, and after talking to the landlord, I received permission to keep a cat in the building. My old man was out at sea for work, so I couldn’t talk to him anyway. Well, I figured I’d just report it to him after the fact.
And so, I was officially allowed to keep the kitten in the apartment where I lived. With that, the whole abandoned-kitten situation was wrapped up. But for some reason…
“Meow.”
“Hehe, that’s great. You managed to find a gentle owner to take care of you.”
“Meow.”
“Yeah, yeah. You’re happy too, aren’t you? Ah, then let me give you the toy I bought earlier. Here, this one—”
“Meow, meow!”
“Ohh, I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Hehe, come on, come over here—”
“Meow.”
“…Hey, sorry to ruin your fun with the kitten, but… Why did you follow me all the way to my apartment, Sakurajima?”
“Eh? Well, because I thought I should properly stay until I confirmed for sure that the kitten could really live at Senpai’s apartment! Hehe, I’m really glad the landlord gave you permission to keep the kitty!”
Sakurajima answered happily while holding a cat toy. I thought we’d naturally go our separate ways after the hospital visit, but for some reason Sakurajima followed me all the way to my apartment. And not only that. She actually came inside the room where I lived. Well, I didn’t really mind her following me to the building, but coming into the room… Wasn’t that kind of bad?
So I tried casually addressing the issue with her.
“Um, well, I get that you wanted to make sure the kitten could really be kept safely, but I’m known as the top delinquent in school, you know? Is it really okay for you to be in the room of such a delinquent?”
“Eh…Ah!? Th-That rumor… I-I remember hearing something like that… B-but, um… I saw how sincerely you treated the kitten… So I kind of thought maybe it was okay…”
“I mean, I’m happy you say that, but if I actually were a bad delinquent, that’d be dangerous, right? Shouldn’t you have a bit more sense of caution?”
“Uu… Th-that’s… Y-yes. I-I’m sorry…”
“No, I’m not mad, so don’t get all depressed… Ah, right. Anyway, I was thinking of giving the kitten some food soon, so since you’re here, do you want to feed her?”
“Eh!? I-Is that okay!? Y-Yes! I want to feed her!”
“Yeah. I’m counting on you.”
“Yes! Leave it to me!”
Sakurajima smiled brightly, then immediately opened a can of cat food and fed the kitten.
“Meow, meow.”
“Hehe, you’re eating so deliciously. Go on, eat as much as you want. Ah, right. Senpai, what should we name this kitten?”
“A name? Well, I haven’t really thought about anything… You got any good ones, Sakurajima?”
“Eh? I-I can decide?”
“You’re the one who found her first, so you should be the one to name her. If you think of something good, let me know.”
“Eh… y-yes, then… How about Mii-chan?”
“Mii-chan, huh. Yeah, that’s a good name. She’s a female, so a cute girl-like name suits her.”
“Really!? Then from today, she’s officially Mii-chan! From now on, nice to meet you, Mii-chan!”
“Meow.”
Sakurajima named the kitten Mii-chan. When she called her that, the kitten let out a happy-sounding meow. After that, Sakurajima continued playing cheerfully with Mii-chan by using the cat toys.
◇◇◇◇
After a while, the outside had started getting dark. And yet Sakurajima was still in my room playing with the kitten. Since she was a girl, I thought she should probably head home soon, so I said to her.
“Hey, don’t you think it’s about time you went home?”
“Eh?—ah! Y-You’re right! I-I’m so sorry, senpai! I stayed at your place for so long! I-I’m really sorry…!”
“No, I said I’m not mad, so stop apologizing so much. Still, you really like cats, huh.”
“Y-Yes. I’ve always loved animals of any kind., really.I love zoos too. But my home is in an apartment where pets aren’t allowed, so I never could have one. That’s why… I’m really happy I got to spend time with Mii-chan today.”
“Meow, meow.”
“Ah, Mii-chan… Hehe.”
As Sakurajima gently petted Mii-chan’s head, Mii-chan started licking her hand. Like a sign of affection.
“Looks like Mii-chan was happy to play with you too.”
“Hehe, if that’s true, I’m glad… Um, senpai, I know it’s really presumptuous to say this but… would it be okay if I come here again to play with Mii-chan?”
“Hm? I mean, I don’t mind, but… Like I said, I’m a delinquent everyone at school hates, you know? Isn’t it better if you don’t get too close to me?”
“Th-That’s… Well… It’s true that you’re famous for being a delinquent, but… Uum… I still want to see Mii-chan again…”
“Meow.”
I said that for Sakurajima’s sake, but she replied with such an incredibly sad expression. Well, no matter how you looked at it, Sakurajima was just a normal girl, so obviously she shouldn’t be coming to the home of a delinquent like me… But when she looked that sad, there was no way I could refuse.
“…Fine, I get it. If you say you don’t mind, then you can come again.”
“Eh… E-eh!? R-Really!? Is—Is it okay!?”
“Yeah, it’s fine. But I’m at work a lot because of my part-time job. So if you’re coming, make sure you contact me beforehand.”
“Y-Yes! I understand! Then let’s exchange LIME!”
“Alright. Here… I’ll bring up my QR code, so scan it.”
“Yes, okay!”
I took out my phone and displayed my LIME QR code for Sakurajima. She immediately pulled out her phone and scanned it.
“Okay, it’s registered! Thank you for exchanging LIME with me! Then from now on, I’ll come by sometimes to play with Mii-chan!”
“Yeah, got it. Looking forward to it.”
“Yes! I look forward to it too!”
And so, after exchanging LIME, Sakurajima and I were now able to stay in touch. But for the main heroine to exchange LIME with me—the villain—I honestly never expected that, so I was kind of shocked. Well, unlike in the game’s actual story, I absolutely had no intention of doing any villain stuff. So I guess having a bit of interaction with the main heroine wasn’t really a problem. …Probably. I dunno.

So who is this story for? It cant be wish fulfilment or anytging cause mc is a beta doormat. It cant be for seeing romance and yanderes or anything as there has essentially been none. It doesnt focus enough even to be about watching a popular pretty boy knocked down a peg.
