Chapter 35: Powering Up Our Side with [Super Recovery] and Completely Overwhelming the Enemy Army
“You bastards! D-don’t falter! The golem soldiers are back! We can regroup now!”
An Imperial commander roared, trying to rally his demoralized troops.
The golem soldiers started rumbling in, gathering on the battlefield one after another.
“The golem legion already got crushed by me and Valeria. There’s nothing to be scared of!”
Still holding Valeria in my left arm, I leaped straight at the lead golem soldier and sliced it clean in two with one swing.
“Whoa!”
A wave of awed gasps rose from the frontier count army.
At the same time, Valeria summoned a squad of demi liches. They fired lightning magic in unison, turning the incoming golems into piles of scrap metal.
“That’s right! The frontier count army’s got a magic unit this strong now!”
Valeria pointed at the smoking, silent golem husks and shouted.
Golems charged the demi liches, but me and the Gawain who’d just appeared cut them down one by one with our swords.
“Uooooh! So this is the power of Lord Zenon and his lady!”
Cheers erupted from our side; screams rose from the enemy.
“Is that… Zenon Greivan? The guy who took Dalham Castle single-handedly?!”
“He beat General Baldo in a one-on-one duel…?!”
“No way! General Baldo losing to some kid like that?!”
“W-wait, but this strength… it’s real…! What do you mean ‘outlier skill holder’—this guy’s a warrior on Sword Saint level!”
“And what the hell is that demi lich squad?! Is there a necromancer that powerful on their side?!”
The Imperial army fell into panic, their morale plummeting.
“Follow Lord Zenon!!”
“Was the young master hiding his real strength this whole time?!”
“His lady’s magic power is on another level too, isn’t it?!”
“With Lord Zenon and his lady here, we’re invincible!”
On the flip side, the frontier count army’s morale shot straight up.
“…‘His lady’? We haven’t even had the wedding yet, and everyone’s already jumping the gun.”
Valeria’s cheeks flushed a soft pink.
“Yeah, we only just got engaged, and they’re already treating us like a married couple… kinda embarrassing, huh.”
Thanks to our performance, the whole battlefield tilted heavily in the frontier count army’s favor.
But…
“Gah!? Enemy fire!”
The golem legion kept methodically attacking our troops. Their large repeating crossbows—ballistae—unleashed volleys that tore devastating holes through our units.
Golems, being magical robots, felt no fear, no excitement; their performance didn’t waver with morale.
Nearly six thousand golem soldiers still posed a massive threat.
And that’s exactly why now was the perfect time to show off the true power of my skill [Super Recovery].
Carrying Valeria, I dashed through the worst-hit areas of our forces, spamming Heal on everyone I passed.
As long as Valeria kept supplying me with magic power, I could cast Heal nonstop.
“On your feet! You can still fight!”
Healing light poured from my hands, wrapping around the dying soldiers one after another.
Severed arms and legs regrew. Gouged-out sides sealed shut in an instant.
And it didn’t stop there—their bodies got rebuilt far stronger than before.
“…W-what’s this?”
“My wounds… they’re gone… no, wait—power’s surging through me?!”
The revived soldiers stood there stunned at first, totally confused about what just happened.
“It’s Zenon’s [Miracle of Healing]! Any injury gets fixed in a heartbeat!”
Valeria shouted with everything she had.
While she did, I kept blasting Heal at every wounded soldier nearby.
“And not only that—the bodies come back way tougher than before!”
“N-no way… something like that…!?”
The squad leader who’d received my Heal swung his sword. A deep crack split the golem that charged him.
“I-I can’t believe it!”
“They’re actually taking damage?!”
“This… this is my power now…?!”
“…This is incredible!”
Soon a roar of pure joy shook the sky from our side.
“We’re not gonna die! As long as Lord Zenon’s here, we’re invincible!”
“Long live Zenon Greivan!”
“The man who beat the heroic General Baldo!”
“Our war god Zenon! The strongest skill holder alive!”
With the revived soldiers leading the charge, the golems—with their tough physical resistance—started getting smashed one after another.
To the Imperial army, the sight must’ve been a straight-up nightmare.
“N-no… our golem soldiers…!”
“The Empire’s trump card, developed by Her Highness the Princess…!”
“A [Miracle of Healing] user stronger than a saint?! H-how is this possible…!”
“And General Baldo isn’t even here anymore?!”
The Imperial troops trembled, voices shaking in shock.
“Everyone—this is the decisive moment! Give it everything you’ve got!”
“Yeah. I’ll heal whatever injuries you take!”
Rallied by me and Valeria, the frontier count army slammed into the Imperial forces with ferocious momentum.
All the while, I kept healing and powering up the near-dead wounded one after another.
“Impossible! The glorious Balzark Empire army… losing to this?!”
“Fall back—fall back! Retreat!”
An Imperial commander, voice quivering, finally ordered the retreat.
Good. The tide’s turned for sure.
With things this one-sided, even if we left the battlefield now, our side wouldn’t fall behind the Imperials.
Once it turned into a chaotic melee, the Empire’s basic tactic—using golems as a shielded frontline—had already collapsed anyway.
“Valeria, use search magic to find where Imperial Princess Leticia is!”
“I already had the magic unit pinpoint her. Over there! Sword Saint Baldo just charged their main camp with a small group!”
Valeria pointed to one corner of the battlefield.
A unit was retreating in tight formation over there.
Charging the enemy main camp with just a handful—man, Dad really doesn’t hold back.
Well… I guess I’m not exactly one to talk.
“Valeria, we’re heading to Dad! We’re the ones taking down Imperial Princess Leticia!”
“Yes! Schwarz Ritter—all of you, full charge! Clear the path for Zenon!”
Valeria sent the Schwarz Ritter knights storming toward the enemy main camp, scattering soldiers left and right.
She really is the most dependable fiancée ever.
“Good luck out there, Lord Zenon!”
“You can definitely beat Imperial Princess Leticia, Lord Zenon!”
“Bring us victory! Fulfill our long-cherished wish!”
Our troops sent us off with waves of encouragement.
“Leave it to me!”
I answered and plunged straight toward the enemy main camp with Valeria in my arms.
Here we go—the real decisive battle. Time to change that doomed fate with my own hands.
