I Was Reincarnated As a Man who Steals The Protagonist’s Childhood Friend - 20 - Early Twist
Ueno Chisa POV
I woke up in my brother’s room, where I had slept. The sunlight streaming in through the windows hit my face, making it impossible to go back to sleep. Feeling a bit uncomfortable, I decided to start my day. As I groggily made my way out, I checked the living room to find my brother’s usual sleeping spot on the sofas empty. It was almost 7 AM, and he was nowhere to be seen.
“Wonder where Aniki went. ” I muttered to myself. Today marked the last day I would see him before heading back to our parent’s hometown, with classes starting tomorrow.
I hadn’t seen my brother since kindergarten. My parents had sent him far away, describing him as a family nuisance. The details were unclear, but when I finally decided to visit him, my parents strongly discouraged it. Ignoring their advice, I regretted my decision back then. The first visit turned disastrous when he sexually assaulted me, leaving an unbearable mark. Despite my vow never to return, an unexpected task from my mother forced me back to that dreaded place.
“So, uh, what brings you here, Chisa?” he asked, but something about him felt off. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
Inside his apartment again, I noticed an unexpected change. As I settled in, I couldn’t help but remark on the cleanliness.
“It’s just… strange. The last time I was here, it was filled with nothing but trash.” I planned to stay for a few hours until I could leave. Surprisingly, Aniki showed a side of himself I never knew—cooking, acting like a true sibling. It was as if the person I’d encountered before was a completely different individual.
As I was about prepare my meals for breakfast, I notice a note, seen lying above the table. I take a look at it and it says:
Went to train with my friend at school. Will be back at around noon.
“Maybe I should make breakfast and lunch for him.” I thought as I ponder my thoughts.
So, the plan is set. Today, my task is to prepare breakfast and lunch for Aniki. First on the agenda is checking the available ingredients in the fridge.
“I’ll whip up a simple sandwich. Let me see… Oh, no sliced bread.”
I retrieve my wallet from Aniki’s room and grab my phone before heading outside the apartment. Since I’m not familiar with the supermarket’s location here, I rely on my phone as a map.
“Let’s find the supermarket. Ah, there it is. It’s close to the station.”
I follow the map’s directions, leading me to the east side from Aniki’s apartment. The crowd grows as I approach the station area. Eventually, I see the supermarket the map has shown. Upon reaching inside the supermarket, I notice a sparse number of people, likely due to the early hour. Nevertheless, I proceed to search for the sliced bread.
“Sliced bread, sliced bread… ah, there it is.”
I grab it and head to the counter. Since all the necessary cooking items are already in the fridge, I don’t need to purchase anything else. As I approach the counter, I notice a rather familiar face.
“She looks like Aniki’s classmate.”
With her short black hair, I mistake the cashier for Aniki’s classmate, but I stand corrected.
“Aniki’s classmate. Wonder if they’re dating.”
Hoshino. The girl who visited Aniki’s apartment two days ago. She’s peculiar, but not in a negative way. During our alone time in the living room, she often inquired about Aniki, to which I provided only vague answers. What strikes me as odd is her presence at Aniki’s home. Usually, people only bring their partners to their homes.
I’m just overthinking things. I need to return to Aniki’s apartment.”
Dismissive of unnecessary thoughts, with sliced bread in hand, I head back to Aniki’s apartment. Checking my phone, it reads 7:20 AM. Though still early, I must hurry to prepare the meal promptly.
Arriving at Aniki’s apartment, I spot someone standing in front of the door – a familiar figure.
“Chisa! Long time no see!”
The unexpected twist reveals the familiar figure to be none other than Hoshino-san. What on earth is this surprising development?
A/N: Hey guys, it’s been a long time. Sorry for not updating this novel. Writer’s block really hits me in the head, plus schoolworks and stuffs *cries in broke college student*
Anyways, just to give some heads-up, I might update this novel at least 2 chapters per week. I would love to add more but I can’t guaranteed that much. But I CAN guarantee you that I can make 2 chaps. Well, that’s it for me, see you in the next chapter~~
Waitwaitwaitwaitwaitwait… WAIT!!! What do you mean “sexually assaulted”?! HIS OWN SISTER?!?! HUH?!? I know that was the original Takeshi, but… seriously?! He’s more of a sc*mbag than I thought! And it seems like Takeshi, as expected of a NTR villain, has estranged relations with his family.
