I exclaimed with a smile on my face to all the viewers watching my stream. 

Dungeon streaming was a highly efficient way to make money. Just having a cute girl fighting monsters was enough to garner people’s interest. Most people who watched my streams seemed to be worrying about me, since I was livestreaming from a dangerous place like a dungeon. So, most of them started tuning in almost every time I streamed. Furthermore, when I defeat a powerful monster or show off some incredible techniques, they would send me a large amount of tips. There was no easiest job to make money for someone like me. 

“Oh! I just found a pack of Black Wolves!”

That being said, this job isn’t easy by any means.

“GROARRRRRR!!”

Black Wolf was a D-rank monster. About five Black Wolves came at me at once. 

This isn’t a game. This is real life. I have to risk my life and kill these monsters to survive. 

Fear paralyzed my legs. The thought of death flashed through my mind. However, I couldn’t afford to stand still. 

“HAAAAAAAAAHH!!”

I drew my sword out and sliced through the necks of two Black Wolves who tried to bite me. I didn’t have the luxury of time to be paralyzed by fear. Leaping backward, I created some distance between myself and the remaining three Black Wolves. 

“〈Transform〉!”

While raising the holy sword, I chanted the spell to activate my skill, causing twin swords to materialize in my hands. 

“GYAONNNN!!”

The remaining three Black Wolves attacked me simultaneously from three directions.

“I can see right through your actions.”

I shifted to the right, dodging the attack from the leftmost Black Wolf, then slashed at the central and right Black Wolves with each of the twin swords.

“GAOOO—”

I swiftly severed the last one’s neck before it could call for reinforcements. Indeed. This job came at the risk of my life. Death was always looming near. If it weren’t for certain circumstances that forced me to take this job, I wouldn’t have risked my life and ventured into a dungeon. 

Sheathing my sword, I took a breath. 

“To think I would get attacked by five Black Wolves at the same time… Talk about bad luck today.”

[Good job.]

[Is it just me, or… Is the dungeon a bit strange…?]

[I’m getting scared. I think it’s better to end the exploration early.]

“Hmm… Yeah. I don’t have the best luck today, so let’s wrap it up early.”

In fact, I had been having this ominous feeling the whole time. I didn’t mind that I would need to cut my streaming time 30 minutes shorter than usual. I was dying to return to the surface. 

“GROWLLLL!!”

When I turned around, I was met with Black Wolf monster again… No. This monster was different. It was pitch-black wolf several times bigger than an ordinary Black Wolf. The big wolf drooling menacingly. Its fangs, visible from its mouth, were sharp like blades. Those fangs could easily torn me to pieces in an instant. 

“What’s that…”

[HUGE!]

[Maybe it’s the boss of the Black Wolves pack?]

[It looks really dangerous!]

[Run. You need to run.]

Just like what the comments said, I knew I should run. My mind understood that I had to run, but… 

“My body can’t move…?!”

I was scared. I was terrified by that big wolf. My hands and feet were shaking uncontrollably and the twin swords slipped from my grip from fear. Not only that. My entire body was paralyzed. I couldn’t move my body no matter how hard I tried. 

[That… Is that an S-rank monster? Black Fenrir?]

[Wait, wait? We’re still somewhere between the upper and middle levels though?]

[Black Fenrir is a monster from the lowest level of this dungeon. Why is it here now?]

[I just googled and yeah, everything the viewers said are correct.]

If that big wolf was truly an S-rank monster, then… I had no chance of winning against it. Even if I were to run, that wolf could easily chase me down and bite me from behind. If I were to fight it head-on, I would be killed without being able to put up a decent fight. That monster was definitely much stronger than me. 

“GRRRRR…!!”

The pitch-black wolf let out a loud roar as it slowly closed the distance between us. Step by step, the big wolf approached me, as if it was enjoying the sight of my face being painted with despair. 

“Stop…. Stop…”

Eventually, the wolf was only a few inches away from me. 

“Grrrr….”

The wolf opened its mouth wide, ready to bite my neck. I shut my eyes. 

Am I going to die here..? I don’t have many regrets, but if I had to name one then it would be my little sister. 

The main reason I started doing dungeon streaming was to support my little sister. My father and mother disappeared, taking their money with them. With no one to support us, I knew I needed a lot of money to send my little sister to high school and university. Hence why, I focused on doing dungeon streaming and somehow, I became famous thanks to my looks and skill. I was truly lucky to be blessed with good looks and good skills. 

If I die here… Do I have enough savings for my little sister to go to university? 

My little sister was someone who easily succumbed to loneliness. I was worried whether she could stay cheerful after I was gone. 

Ah… I really want to hear my little sister’s lively voice one last time before I die…

The last time we spoke was yesterday, but it was more like a small argument than a proper conversation. Had I known that would be our last conversation, I wouldn’t have fought with her…

Why does God have to choose the worst timing for death?

I thought to myself as I welcomed death… But then, I realized something. The pain never came. 

Cautiously, I opened my eyes a bit and there, I saw a man standing before me. 

“Are you okay?”

The man said after he hit the black wolf from the side, practically sending it flying.
