- I Wanted To Squeeze A Magical Girl’s Boobs So Bad I Turned Into A Monster
- Chapter 7: Something I Lost
In the end, I managed to get through the shopping trip in a daze.
With all thought abandoned, neither the women’s swimsuit section’s atmosphere nor Akasaki’s swimsuit figure had any effect on me. Even when asked for my opinion on swimsuits, the only thing that came to mind was breasts, so I had become like a robot nodding at everything.
“Thank you for today.”
“Ah, yeah…”
“Senpai, please reboot soon!”
“…Ah! What’s wrong, Akasaki?”
On the way home, Akasaki shook my shoulder and brought me back from my dazed state. Apparently, I couldn’t come back on my own and I was hard to handle.
“Geez… Senpai was spacing out the whole time and nodded at everything, so in the end, I just chose it myself. But look forward to summer vacation, okay!”
“Ah, that’s really decided, huh…”
“Senpai, you’re free, right? I’ve never seen you with anyone else.”
Akasaki said such a thing without even a hint of guilt. That actually stung a bit. After all, I did have a few friends!
“What about you, Akasaki… ah, yeah.”
“Aghh, you just made fun of me, didn’t you!?”
“I just said the same thing to you.”
Whether a magical girl or a monster, apparently friendship wasn’t easy for both.
After some trivial talk while walking, we reached the station nearest the shopping mall. Suddenly, a loud boom echoed from the direction of the store we were just at.
“…A monster!?”
“I-I might have lost something! Senpai, please go ahead first!”
With those words said, Akasaki sprinted toward the mall. There was no way I could leave such a cute junior behind and run away.
I kept a distance so that she wouldn’t notice me and followed after her.
As I neared the store, I passed people fleeing by in a panic. Magical girls could use spells to clear crowds, so that probably helped too.
When I reached the parking lot, Ruby and the monsters were already fighting. The opponents were normal weak monsters, but there were way too many of them.
“Seriously? Ten at once…?”
I hid in the shadows. It would have been easier if the opponent had been a Unique species.
Those guys were basically doomed already. Whether a magical girl or I defeated them, they’d vanish anyway.
Normal monsters, however, were different. If defeated by the magical girl’s purifying power, they returned to their human forms. If I, who lacked that power, defeated them, they simply died.
“If I kill them, Akasaki will be sad… better to watch and wait for now.”
The current situation was balanced.
Ruby mainly focused on close combat, using magic bullets to keep knock attacks from her blind spot at bay.
But there were just too many.
Without any big moves that could take out enemies in one hit, Ruby had to rely on speed to chip them away bit by bit.
“Hey!”
“Gyaah!”
Ruby fired a powered-up magic bullet, taking down one monster. The black aura peeled away from its body, revealing an office worker in a suit underneath.
“Ha! Take this!”
“Guuuyaaah!”
Taking advantage of the monsters’ confusion, Ruby swiftly struck down two more with her staff.
My gaze was fixed on the beautiful fruit swaying with every swing of her staff. I wanted to grope them.
Ruby, meanwhile, continued knocking down monsters one after another. The enemy count was now down to three.
“Haa… haa… just three left!”
Ruby shouldn’t find such a number too difficult. At least, not the usual Ruby.
“Wha…!”
Ruby’s knees gave out just as she tried to run forward. Her staff dropped with a clang, then disappeared. It was out of magic.
The strain from the recent outbreaks had left Ruby gasping for power at the last stretch.
“N-no way…!”
“Gyagya gya gya!”
The three monsters mocked her weakened state and advanced on the kneeling Ruby.
“Is this the end…?”
I transformed in the shadows and closed the distance instantly.
“Don’t take it personally… [Magic Blade].”
Without giving them a chance to react, I swung a blade of magic and simultaneously cut off the necks of all three. The defeated monsters vanished as black mist.
Only Ruby, the seven people she’d saved, and I remained on the spot.
“Monster-san…”
Ruby looked at me with a mixed expression of jumbled emotions. She probably wanted to save everyone’s lives.
“I waited until the last moment. It’s just that you mattered more to me.”
“…I understand. You saved me again.”
Ruby bit her lip in frustration.
I wanted to do something for her, but I had no way and no right to say anything.
“I think you’ve reached your limit for today. See you, Ruby-chan.”
“…”
I turned my back on the downcast Ruby and jumped toward the station.
As I de-transformed and waited near the station, I saw Akasaki, having de-transformed as well, come walking toward me.
“Hey, Akasaki, did you find what you were looking for?”
“Se-senpai…?”
Akasaki tried to cover up her sorrow desperately, but anyone could tell how down she was. Her expression looked like she might burst into tears at any moment.
“You didn’t find it, huh. It must have been something important.”
“Yes…”
I didn’t deserve to do this, but I lightly patted Akasaki’s head.
“Well, there’s nothing we can do about what’s already happened. We just need to make sure we don’t lose it again next time.”
“Yes… sniffle…”
Finally breaking down, Akasaki started crying, and I took her with me on the way home.
Making a girl cry and then pretending to comfort her… I was a terrible self-fulfilling bastard.
Haa, I wanted to grope her boobs… enough to forget it all.
