I tried to confess my feelings to the girl I like, but I got too excited and ended up proposing. Was her response OK?! ~ - Chapter 34
Episode 34
“What are we making today? I’d eat anything if it’s cooked by Mana!”
“Well, I was planning to make beef stew today, so let’s stick with that.”
We were at a supermarket just a short distance from our high school. However, since only Mana knew what ingredients we needed, the rest of us followed behind, just tagging along.
“By the way, when did Ryota and you start dating? We were in the same class, but I never noticed.”
“Huh? We’ve been dating since our first year. By the time we were in our third year, we didn’t need to hang out in class, so maybe that’s why you didn’t notice.”
“Since the first year? But didn’t you break up a few times and reported it to me? What’s up with that?”
“Oh, we just kept getting back together each time. We’d have some stupid argument, break up, then quickly regret it and get back together.”
“I see. So, after each breakup, I assumed you’d quickly get a new girlfriend. I always thought Ryota was a player, but I guess not.”
“That’s right! You always treat me like a playboy, but I’m surprisingly faithful!”
“Okay, okay, don’t get so worked up. Look, it seems Mana and the others have finished shopping, so it’s our turn as the baggage carriers.”
Saying that, I forcibly changed the subject and took Mana and the other bags instead.
“Now, shall we head home!”
“Hey, we’re not going to your place now. You understand that, right?”
Looking at them, they certainly gave off a couple vibe, or rather, a vibe of an old married couple.
As Ryota said, it seemed they had been together since their first year.
“Don’t make a fuss on the road. You’re bothering me and Mana.”
“Hey, what’s with that embarrassing tone, as if being together with me is shameful? We’re best friends, aren’t we?”
“Are we really?”
“Huh? Aren’t we best friends? That’s… I’m gonna cry.”
“Hey, don’t make my Ryota cry! So, Sora-kun, you’re that kind of person! I can’t hand my Manamin over to someone like you!”
“Hey! Who’s yours? Mana is mine! And don’t treat Mana like an object!”
As we argued, for some reason, Mana’s face turned red.
“Mana? Are you feeling okay? If not, we can send these guys home.”
“N-No, I’m not feeling unwell, so it’s okay! Let’s go faster, shall we?”
Saying that, Mana started walking briskly.
I didn’t understand why Mana’s face turned red, so I tilted my head in confusion, and Ryota spoke to me from behind.
“Hey hey, husband, after declaring loudly that I’m yours, you can’t just leave me hanging like that.”
“Yeah, husband, don’t you understand your own actions?”
I suddenly felt annoyed.
But remembering my earlier statement, I had indeed made a bold claim.
I wasn’t embarrassed anymore, but it seemed to have quite an effect on Mana.
But why are these guys so troublesome to deal with?
“Enough! Let’s just go already. Mana is already walking ahead anyway.”
I quickly followed after Mana.
I heard teasing voices from behind, but I ignored them and kept walking.
After some more idle chatter, we arrived at our destination, our home.
“Sorry for intruding! It’s been a while since I’ve been here.”
“Huh? Ryota, have you been here before?”
“Yeah, remember when I had a fight with my parents during summer vacation? I stayed over here then.”
“Oh, I heard you stayed at a friend’s house, but I didn’t know it was Sora-kun.”
I just noticed that Shimura-san is calling me, “Sora-kun” now.
She used my last name before, but she’s really quick to close the distance. She’s still quite outgoing.
“Well then, I’ll start preparing dinner, so please relax in the living room, everyone.”
“Mana, I’ll help too. It must be tough with this many people, right?”
“It’s not that difficult, so please relax, Sora-kun.”
If that’s how it’s gonna be, Mana won’t back down.
I might as well just go along with her words quietly.
“Got it. Call me if you need anything.”
Saying that, I headed to the living room with Ryota and Shimura-san.
“Let’s play some games! Sorais super good at games. I wonder if Sana will get destroyed?”
“Huh? That’s not gonna happen! I play games quite a bit too, you know!”
“Okay, please be quiet. If you guys are too noisy, I’ll throw you two out.”
Saying that, the two of them obediently complied.
But why are these two so high-spirited?
“Alright, Sora-kun, let’s play Super Smash Bros.!”
Shimura-san must have started the game without me noticing and immediately challenged me to a match.
“Fine by me. Don’t cry when you lose.”
“I’m stronger than you!”
And so, Shimura-san energetically challenged me to a match.
The result? Five wins out of five matches.
Who won? Obviously me.
In the end, Shimura-san couldn’t defeat me even once.
After multiple attempts, just as Mana’s cooking was ready, the game came to an end, and everyone moved to the dining table.
