I Time Leaped Back To High School And Want To Live A Peaceful Life As I Did In The First Round, But The Beautiful Girls Are Doing Everything They Can To Stop Me - Chapter 89
Chapter 89: One of the Most Important Things (END OF SUMMER VACATION ARC)
Sorane let go of the hand she had been holding and looked at me with a slightly frightened expression.
“Sorane, are you okay?”
“Yeah. I’m fine.”
Sorane took a deep breath, closed her eyes for a few seconds, and then stared at me.
“How old was Saeki-kun until your first birth?”
“Um… I was 31.”
Sorane trembled slightly upon hearing that.
“I see… That’s an adult age.”
“Well, I don’t know. I didn’t really feel like I became that much of an adult.”
From the perspective of a second-year high school student, 31 years old might seem more than adult enough.
However, when I actually lived through it, I didn’t feel like I had become that much of an adult.
But right now, Sorane probably didn’t want to discuss that.
“So, um, Saeki-kun from the first round… Were you married?”
Sorane asked with a determined expression.
I could have dodged the question or lied.
After all, there was no way to verify it.
But I felt like I shouldn’t lie here. I wanted to be honest with Sorane.
“Yeah, I got married when I was 30.”
When I answered truthfully, Sorane closed her eyes quietly, then opened them a second later.
“Right. You’re already an adult.”
“Sorry.”
“No, there’s nothing to apologize for.”
I didn’t tell her that the person was Mio.
I had no intention of telling Mio, and I had no intention of telling Sorane either.
However, Sorane would probably be curious about who the person was.
I braced myself and waited for her next words.
However…
“Did you have any children?”
“Huh?”
Sorane’s question was unexpected.
“A baby. If it was the first year of marriage, it might not have been born yet, but maybe it was in the womb.”
“No, that didn’t happen. We didn’t have any children.”
When I answered, Sorane leaned forward.
“Really? Don’t lie, okay?”
“I really didn’t have any children.”
Sorane stared intently into my eyes, and after a while, she relaxed and let out a sigh.
“Ah, that’s a relief.”
She lifted her face with a relieved expression, tears welling up in her eyes.
“If you had a child, I would have decided to break up with you.”
“Why would you decide something like that?”
“Because it would be my fault that a life disappeared without being born. That’s unforgivable.”
Perhaps she was very tense, but Sorane collapsed onto the table, exhausted.
“I worried you that much, huh? Sorry, I should have noticed earlier and told you.”
“No, it’s because I wanted to ask myself. Ah, I’m glad.”
I gently stroked Sorane’s head, finding her limp form endearing.
“With no more worries, now I can love Saeki-kun with all my heart and soul.”
“Heart and soul, huh? That’s quite an exaggeration.”
“Can you accept it properly?”
“Of course.”
Sorane never asked about my marriage partner or romantic history.
Her concern for a life that should have been born was typical of Sorane and heartwarming.
“Ah, now that I’m relieved, I’m starting to get hungry! There’s a delicious waffle shop nearby. Let’s go check it out.”
“If we eat now, we won’t be able to have dinner later, you know?”
“It’s fine! It’s a light type, so it won’t fill up my stomach too much!”
Sorane took my hand and stood up.
The palm of her hand was damp with sweat.
It was clear that she had been quite nervous.

As it turned out, waffles weren’t as light as Sorane had thought, so they settled for a light dinner with fried chicken, among other things.
By the time they finished watching the night parade, it had become quite dark, and the number of people in the park had significantly decreased.
“It got quiet all of a sudden, huh?”
“But the park, even when it’s quiet, has a nice atmosphere, don’t you think?”
“Yeah, you’re right. It’s a bit lonely, but that uniqueness adds to its charm, maybe.”
They deliberately reduced the number of streetlights, creating a vaguely dim atmosphere.
The lights reflected on the surface of the park’s river, swaying gently and creating a beautiful scene.
“It’s beautiful…”
Sorane held the railing, gazing at the nighttime scenery.
“I’m glad you came with me.”
“I was thinking the same thing.”
I overlaid my hand on Sorane’s hand.
“Let’s come again.”
“Yeah, definitely.”
Sorane stared into my eyes.
Could this be… the moment for a kiss?
As soon as I became aware of it, my body heated up with tension.
It seemed that she had the same thought as me, as her face also tensed with nervousness.
“Um… we should probably head back soon, right? We need time to buy souvenirs.”
Sorane grabbed my arm as I began to walk away, as if escaping.
“Uh, kissing on the lips is something for when we become a couple… but maybe on the forehead would be okay?”
Sorane made such a suggestion as she was blushing intensely.
“F-forehead should be safe, right?”
“Yeah…”
Sorane closed her eyes and turned her face toward me.
When I grabbed her shoulders with trembling hands, Sorane shuddered slightly.
I gently placed a kiss on her forehead. Sorane smiled with closed eyes and then embraced me.
“Whoa!?”
The force of her embrace was surprising.
“I love you, Saeki-kun!”
“I love you too, Sorane.”
As we hugged each other, Sorane squeezed even tighter.
“I want to stay like this forever…”
“Yeah, me too.”
“Meeting you, Saeki-kun, I feel really lucky.”
“That’s my line. Thank you, Sorane.”
Once we embraced, we couldn’t find the right moment to let go, so we continued hugging for a while.
