I Thought I Was Dead After Getting Stabbed While Protecting a Girl From a Random Attacker, but a Goddess Gave Me a Special Reward and Brought Me Back to Life in My Original Body—Now, All These Girls Are Coming on to Me!? - Chapter 15.1: A Happy Ending
Chapter 15.1: A Happy Ending
“Good morning, Ryu-kun!”
“Good morning, Ryu.”
“Good morning, Makoto, Kanade.”
After a turbulent day and night,
Well, the turbulence was supposed to be just at night. It was so intense that my memories of anything before that are almost completely faded.
Today, as usual, I’m heading to school with the two of them.
Well, just because we’ve become a couple doesn’t mean anything changes drastically…
“Hug!”
“Tight hug!”
…No, that’s not true at all.
Because, unbelievably, both of them are clinging to my arms from either side.
“Just to confirm, are you planning to go to school like this?”
“Obviously! I don’t have to hold back anymore!”
“We need to show off how close we are. I can’t stand getting tangled up with that again.”
That… they mean Nishino-kun, don’t they?
Well, you know, I don’t really mind. Or rather, I’m not particularly bothered by it. Honestly, I don’t have any strong feelings about Nishino-kun’s behavior.
For them, though, the incident where I got stabbed was a huge deal, and they probably couldn’t bear the thought of it being downplayed.
In other words, I stepped on what you’d call their emotional landmine.
Since both of them are now my girlfriends, there’s unfortunately no room left for him to play a part.
That aside, I was planning to make a suggestion to them today.
“You two take the train to school, right?”
“Yeah, that’s right.”
“It’s convenient that Ryu’s house is right between the station and school.”
Their commute involves taking the train to the nearest station, stopping by my house, and then heading to school.
“I have a suggestion for you two.”
“A suggestion? What’s that?”
“Starting tomorrow, is it okay if I go pick you up at the station?”
“The station is in the opposite direction from school, so you’d be taking a detour.”
“Yeah! Isn’t it fine to just meet at your house like we’ve been doing?”
Sure, that’s more efficient, but…
I’m a guy too, you know. I have my own little desires.
“Look… that way, we can spend a bit more time together, right?”
I mean, having these adorable girls as my girlfriends? If you told me a month ago this would happen, I wouldn’t have believed it—it’s practically a miracle.
So, there’s no way I’m not going to make the most of this miracle.
…In other words, I want to spend as much time as possible with them, yeah.
“…Eep.”
“Eep? Makoto?”
“…Squeak.”
“Kanade!? What’s wrong!?”
Makoto’s face turned bright red, her mouth hanging open as she froze in place.
As for Kanade, she straight-up collapsed.
I managed to catch her in time, but she almost got hurt there!
“Sorry, sorry. You just said something so cute out of nowhere, and my brain couldn’t keep up with the gap…”
“Same here. Ryu, you’re too good at catching us off guard. Are you secretly a sadist?”
“No way, nothing like that.”
After that, both of them, still blushing furiously, managed to reboot.
But they didn’t forget to keep their arms linked with mine as we walked to school, the three of us huddled close together.
“By the way, my parents were saying to bring you two over during summer break.”
“What! I’m totally in! I want to meet Sakuya-chan too!”
“I’m fine with it too. Greetings like this are important.”
“Then we’ll figure out the dates when it gets closer.”
“Yay, I’m excited!”
I was hoping we could get along like family, so this is great. I wasn’t particularly worried, but still.
“Speaking of which, have you two told your parents about me?”
“Yup! All good!”
“Same here. They didn’t object at all.”
“Then I should go greet your families too.”
These things are best handled early.
I remember a daytime drama I saw at home where delaying family greetings led to bad blood with the other family, spiraling into a messy story. I don’t want that.
I want to get along with their families too.
“G-Greetings… greetings, huh… yeah… marriage… getting married… honey…”
“Pfft… I want at least three kids. But taking care of Makoto and Ryu’s kids… pfft.”
It seems the girls on either side of me have flown off into their own little world again. Well, they’re not exactly wrong, so I won’t correct them. I’ll let them have their fun. For now, I’ll just make sure they don’t walk into a pole or something due to their lack of attention.
—
Dragging along the two girls lost in their dream world, we finally made it to school. Once again, we were surrounded by classmates. Thanks to them not letting go until we reached the classroom, we ended up drawing everyone’s attention with our arms still linked.
“Hey, hey! Judging by how you three look… could it be…?”
“Y-Yes… well… we’re officially dating now!”
“V!”
The classroom erupted into deafening cheers.
“No way! Congrats!”
“Our class’s first couple!”
“But it’s three of them, so a trio!?”
“Damn it! Be happy, you guys!”
I braced myself for how they’d react, but it seems everyone’s taking it positively, which is a relief.
I know it sounds self-serving, but even though it was intentional, saying such embarrassing lines and creating a dramatic moment paid off.
