Chapter 7 – Leaders Are Solitary
[Explanation Session]
Gal game [Graceful Ladies Sympathizer]
The game’s storyline begins with the protagonist, Tatemiya Yuushi, entering an academy for the wealthy as a scholarship student.
The story is that Tatemiya Yuushi has a strong sense of justice and an inability to ignore women in distress. As he solves their problems, he deepens his relationship with the heroines and wins them over.
But there is a male student who always gets in the protagonist’s way when trying to conquer the heroine.
That is Ryuoin Taketo.
Ryuoin Taketo holds a mindset supporting the upper class and plays the role of an antagonistic character, obstructing Yuushi, a commoner, whenever possible.
Although Taketo is arrogant yet kind towards women, he is merciless towards men. He emphasizes issues aligned with the heroines’ concerns to snatch them away.
By preventing this interference and resolving the problems of the female characters, players can develop relationships with the heroines.
♢
[Mitsurugi Taketo’s POV]
It’s annoying to be involved with the main character of the game.
Personally, I want to live a quiet high school life, but when I get involved with noisy people like him, it makes me stand out.
“You were bothering Miss Akemi, so I came to help.”
Bothering her? After being told something that I don’t understand, I looked at the Miss Akemi he mentioned on the other side.
She was also one of the people who Taketo caused trouble to, and it couldn’t be helped if she ran out of affection for Taketo and joined forces with Tatemiya.
However, this ongoing interaction doesn’t seem like it will leave a good impression on her.
It can’t be helped that if I stand out, other students already look at me negatively.
But it feels like she’s becoming a scapegoat.
Sigh It’s a hassle, but it’s best to cut ties with this guy from the beginning.
“You said you were Tatemiya Yuushi, right?”
“R-right!”
When I glared at him and asked him his name, he looked surprised.
“You won against me in the vote to decide the leader, and you exposed my evil deeds, right?”
“That’s right! I took the leadership position from you and exposed the words and actions you’ve been carelessly saying to other students in broad daylight.”
“And?”
“Huh?”
Tatemiya looked dumbfounded.
The same goes for Toranomon Akemi, who is sitting right behind Tatemiya.
She is the main heroine of this game, the person whom Tatemiya struggles the most to save from Ryuoin Taketo’s evil clutches.
She is also the woman most closely connected to Ryuoin.
It’s challenging to settle this situation without making her stand out.
But, I can shift the focus.
“A leader who talks to the loser as if rubbing salt in the wound. Not satisfied with just that, you loudly called out to me while I was sitting quietly by the window. Where is a leader who would do that? Have some shame!”
I scolded Tatemiya in a tone that surprised even myself.
“A leader guides everyone. Sometimes it’s lonely, sometimes they become disliked without understanding. Even if everyone says their decisions are unthinkable, leaders think about the future and make the best move… Considering your actions now, are you looking ahead? Are you able to see your surroundings? Can you be proud of your actions as a leader?”
Tatemiya clenched his fist and gritted his teeth.
I’m not sure why the words came out so clearly, but that was what I felt, so there was no hesitation.
“You’ve defeated me, right? Is victory your only goal?”
“Tch, it’s not like that!”
“That’s right. If you’ve become the leader, be a role model then. That’s all”
The classroom fell quiet.
This situation meant a complete defeat for Tatemiya, but he couldn’t help but try to say something.
“I…!”
“Tatemiya-san.”
Toranomon Akemi called out to Tatemiya.
There was a beauty to her clear, chiming voice that resonated in the quiet classroom.
“Toranomon-san.”
“Please return to your seat. Earlier, he wasn’t looking at me. He said the cherry blossoms outside were beautiful.”
“That, that’s just his excuse.”
“Don’t you find this… unsightly?”
It is said that beautiful women are powerful, and although Toranomon-san speaks calmly, each word carries weight.
I can even feel the coldness.
“Guh, fine, I get it.”
After being admonished by Toranomon Akemi, Tatemiya glared at me sharply before going to his seat.
Seated in the front row, his grades don’t seem to be that high.
“…Everyone, until the teacher arrives, feel free to enjoy your time. Please continue chatting.”
With Toranomon Akemi’s announcement, hesitant whispers began to fill the classroom.
I decided to close my eyes because I didn’t want to have anything to do with anyone anymore.
Suddenly, I heard a whispering voice.
“Seems like you haven’t changed a bit.”
My eyes opened slightly and I looked at Toranomon-san, but she wasn’t looking at me. Instead, her gaze was directed towards the cherry blossoms that were visible beyond the window.
I thought I would never talk to her, so I just closed my eyes and laid my face down until the teacher came for the orientation after the entrance ceremony.
