“Hoaaaam… I’m so sleepy.”

Yawning, Rielle arrived at the dining hall and plopped down into the middle chair. She had been incredibly busy lately, from the sale of elixirs that had been spreading throughout the nation to negotiating with the members of Resistance and supporting her three comrades. She was spinning all day long, busy with her task. That being said, she was genuinely happy with this daily routine. After all, not only had she achieved her revenge, but her father’s business was booming more than ever. Moreover, she had gained three strong allies. Unlike the title of ‘demon’ plastered on them, those three people were incredibly kind. Rielle truthfully had no complaints at all. 

Rielle rubbed her sleepy eyes, waiting for the three of them to arrive. Breakfast time was dawning near. There was something weird today. Normally, Chloe, the earliest riser, would have been the first to arrive, but Chloe was nowhere to be seen, until..

“Go-Good morning, Rielle.”

“Oh! Yeah! Good morning, Chloe.”

Just as she expected, Chloe was the first to appear. Rielle greeted her cheerfully, but soon enough, Rielle noticed something unusual. Chloe’s cheeks were flushed red, even though Chloe usually looked as sleepy as herself. 

“Auuuh…”

“Hm??”

Chloe suddenly looked down and covered her lips with one hand. Chloe was definitely behaving unlike her usual self. 

Huh? What? Did something happen? She was supposed to be resting in her room yesterday, right? So why…

Rielle tilted her head, confused at the sudden change when another person came into the dining room. 

“Go-Good morning, Rielle, Chloe.”

A somewhat awkward teenage boy voice could be heard. 

“Go-Good morning Ka-Kai…”

“Hm?!?!”

Upon seeing Kai’s face, Rielle became even more confused. 

Wait, why is Kai’s face red too?

Moreover, Kai usually came in with sleepy Nia, but Kai came in alone today. To make things worse, Kai was sitting across from Chloe. The two of them looked very uncomfortable, as could be seen how they were fidgeting and averting their gazes from each other. 

What’s going on here… The mood between them is somehow…

“Go-Good morning, Kai.”

“…Yeah. Good morning.”

“….”

Their flushed faces… Their aversion to making eye contact.. Their awkward voices and their obviously suspicious behavior… Not to mention, the timing of their arrival in the dining hall too! There was no doubt about it.

“Chloe, did you sleep well last night?”

“Hyah-!? Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-What?!”

Sure, Rielle admitted she was trying to tease Chloe, but she definitely didn’t expect for Chloe to react in that way. Chloe flinched and stammered, obviously overacting at such a simple question. While Kai only looked down, his face flushed even more. Seeing their reactions, Rielle felt a bit exasperated. 

No,no, they’re acting too weird! They really have no intention of hiding it, huh?!

“Ri-Right! I just remembered I forgot to wake Nia! I-I will go to Nia’s room! Yo-You two go ahead and eat first!”

“Ah! Wai-?! Kai?!”

“…They definitely did it…”

“A-Anyway! Go ahead and eat first, okay?! Haha…. Hahahaha….”

Apparently Rielle’s voice didn’t even reach Kai’s ear. Kai stood up abruptly. His face was completely flushed. Just when Kai was about to escape—

“…Huh?”

“Good morning, Kai.”

The moment he opened the door, he saw Nia. Her eyes were half-lidded as she stared hard at Kai. Kai immediately froze in place.

“Kai, you didn’t come to wake me up. Even though you always come to my room at the same time to wake me up every day.”

“We-Well… Tha-That’s because… I… Umm… I overslept a bit this morning!”

“…I was waiting for you, but you didn’t come.”

“I mean, if you were awake, then you should’ve come here by yourself! Why were you waiting for me?!”

“…Hm? Wait a minute.”

“Huh?! Wha-What?!”

Nia, who had been puffing up her cheeks the entire time, suddenly seemed to notice something. She grabbed Kai and leaned close. Kai could only stood there, shocked at the sudden closeness. Nia sniffed Kai’s clothes a few times and she went real quiet. Almost too quiet even. 

“………..Kai.”

“Ye-Yes!!”

“Why do you smell like Chloe?”

“……….What?”

“There’s Chloe’s smell on Kai’s clothes.”

Silence ensued. Rielle propped her cheeks up with both hands while watching Chloe’s reaction. Chloe was trembling from embarrassment. She looked like she wanted to disappear into a hole if she could while Kai only stood there, his mouth agape. 

Meanwhile, Nia tilted her head to the side and frowned. 

“Chloe’s scent is very strong here. You wouldn’t smell like this unless you had been hugging her all night.”

Nia’s tone was accusatory.

“Ni-Nia-san?! Ho-How do you even know that…?”

“…..”

“……Ki-Kiss!! We only kissed!! We didn’t go all the way!!”

“Wha-Wha-Wha-What did you say?! What are you talking about?!?! Kai, you stupid!! You virgin!! Loser!! You’re a shitty virgin that can’t even eat the meal that has been prepared for you!!”

“Huh?! Wait-!? You guys didn’t go all the way?! No way?! You’re kidding, right?!”

Rielle couldn’t stop herself from exclaiming upon hearing Chloe’s response. 

No?! Impossible?! No way! A boy and a girl of that age only hugged and kissed all night long?! Just that?! Unbelievable!! That’s not possible!

Regardless, Nia didn’t seem to care about those little details at all.

“Ni-Nia…? Why are your eyes red―Whoaaaaaa?? WAIT! WAIT!!!! WE-WE’RE STILL INSIDE RIELLE’S MANSION!!! NIA―! DO-DON’TTTTTTT!!!”

Nia immediately unleashed her demon’s power. She was about to cause an explosion, but Kai quickly grabbed Nia and jumped outside, sparing the mansion from damage. However, the powerful blast that echoed through the morning caused a huge commotion among the townspeople.
