The moment a shred of senses returned to Gebels, he started begging pitifully. He never imagined he would be cornered like this. Having to beg pathetically like this. The previous Gebels would’ve chosen death rather than this. However, the current Gebels didn’t even have the option to die. After all, he couldn’t even move his arms or legs. 

“Please… I beg you… Argh!! GAGHHHH!!! Arghhh!!!”

Drowning in excruciating pain, his pride and sanity had all but disappeared. Gebels slitted eyes were opened wide with tears streaming down messily. Kai then looked at Chloe. 

“What do you want to do, Chloe?”

“….”

“You can decide. This revenge is yours after all.”

To think that his life depended on the will of trash like Chloe was the ultimate humiliation Gebels could ever get. However, he didn’t even have the luxury to feel that shame. He tried his best to look up pleadingly at the trash he had despised so badly.

As soon as Chloe’s words reached his ears, Kai smirked ever so slightly.

The sound of clapping echoed.

Writhing in pain while clutching his entire body, Gebels’ screams echoed in the air. Chloe had mixed emotions watching this scene unfolding before her.

The black magic curses, dissections under the guise of experiments, poisoning, torture, all the horrors he had done out of curiosity were now his to endure. There was no escape from this cycle of pain.

“….You released the mind manipulation when he was fighting me, right?”

“Yeah. The trigger for the hallucinations is me snapping my fingers.”

“I see. Then… It’s fine.”

Despite that, Chloe’s expression still looked a bit clouded. I felt the same way too. Even though Gebels was no more but a monster, watching someone writhing in pain like this was never a pleasant sight.

I shook my head in response to Chloe’s question.

Chloe gripped her knife tightly, the knife that had been imbued by Alwyn’s blessing. With this, she could strike Gebels’ core and kill him. The moment for her vengeance was drawing nearer and nearer.

Gebels looked so gruesome. Well, considering how many people he had killed, it’d be odd if he still retained his sanity. 

Chloe took a deep breath as she stared at Gebels, who was still trembling on the floor. 

“This is.. The end.”

“Geeeh… Gaaaah…”

“Goodbye, demon.”

A sharp sound of a blade piercing through the air could be heard. Gebels’ eyes widened, before his orbs rolled back, leaving only the whites visible. A pathetic end for the once vicious psychopath. 

“Phew…”

Without pulling her knife out, Chloe slowly stood up and approached us. 

“Thank you, Kai, Nia. If it weren’t for you two, I would’ve been dead already.”

Chloe said with a bitter smile on her face. Her face was clouded with various emotions. There was a mix of tranquility, along with a sense of relief and the exhaustion brought by years of desire for vengeance.

“….Chloe.”

“Yeah?”

“Are you okay?”

It wasn’t me who asked that question, but Nia.

“…Fufu. Yeah. I’m fine. Thank you, Nia.”

“Then, that’s good.”

“Yeah. I’m really fine. I don’t have any regrets.”

But still, Chloe must be feeling complicated on the inside. I could understand her feeling, somehow. 

“Chloe, shall we head back to the slum? The monsters summoned by that guy must be still swarming in the slum.”

It was Kaltz, the Hero.
