I Got Reincarnated as the Scummy Dude Who Sends NTR Video Letters to Otaku Guys in Erotic Manga, But When I Tried to Steal His Girlfriend, I Accidentally Hooked Up with Her Twin Sister Instead - Chapter 8
Chapter 8: I Told Otaku-kun That I Got a Girlfriend
Monday finally rolled around after the weekend.
I headed to school feeling super pumped. And why? ‘Cause now I could finally talk to Otaku-kun face-to-face, no awkwardness.
Up until Friday I’d been drowning in guilt over stealing his crush, so we barely even talked. I’ve got way too much I wanna say—I’ve been itching like crazy.
By the way, Yui didn’t come to school.
I didn’t really dig into why she’s skipping, but whatever—school isn’t everything. As someone obsessed with grades, I don’t even care about internal school points or whatever.
“Otaku-kun, morning!”
I walked into the classroom, greeted him, and plopped down at my desk.
“Morning. You’re in a really good mood today. Something nice happen?”
“Huh? You noticed?”
“Well yeah, last week you were acting super weird.”
“Yeah… last week was a lot.”
It really was insane.
Somehow things worked out, but that was straight-up miraculous.
One wrong move and I could’ve ended up at the bottom of Tokyo Bay, no joke.
“You seriously look like a different person today.”
“Yeah yeah, I’ll explain everything slowly, so just listen, okay?”
So I started telling him lightly.
The full details were way too messed up to say out loud, but I told him I got a girlfriend and that we’re already at the stage where I gave her a spare key.
About the key… there was some stuff behind it.
Park benches are risky, so I told her if she ever felt like running away from home, she could just come crash at my place instead—and handed her the key.
Yui was really happy about it, but honestly my place is just a tiny 6-mat one-room apartment. It’s cramped as hell.
Anyway, after I finished explaining everything, Otaku-kun looked kinda jealous.
“Man… being able to date Nedori-kun sounds nice.”
“Wait, that’s what you’re jealous about?! Normally you’d be jealous I got a girlfriend, right?”
“Nah. A lover’s one thing, but a real friend is way rarer. Look—I only have one person in this whole class I can actually talk to, and that’s you, Nedori-kun.”
“Really? But you’ve got your childhood friend, don’t you?”
“Aoi’s… different from a normal friend. Anyway, the point is friends are super important to me.”
“Thanks, man!”
Otaku-kun really is a good guy, same as always.
You don’t find many people who care about their friends this much.
Meanwhile I’m total trash.
If I’d realized it was Yui from the start it’d be one thing, but I almost NTR’d her while thinking she was the big sister. That’s rock-bottom scum. Maybe I really should just commit seppuku?
“Nedori-kun, you were so hyped a second ago and now you’re depressed again?!”
“Finish me off, Otaku-kun, please?”
“Why are you slamming your head on my desk? Stop, it’s scary. People are gonna think I’m bullying you.”
“I gotta do at least this much or I won’t feel better.”
“Hey! Nedori-kun! Stop trying to steal my Takuya!”
While I was headbutting Otaku-kun’s desk out of pure guilt, a bright voice came from behind.
I turned around—Futaba Aoi was standing there.
Maybe she thought we were too close, ‘cause she grabbed Otaku-kun’s arm and tried to pull him away from me.
“Aoi?!”
“There’s no way I’m letting Nedori-kun take him!”
“Why are you suddenly so competitive?”
Otaku-kun looked totally confused, but I kinda got why. She probably already knows I started dating Yui.
Otherwise she wouldn’t be glaring at me this hard. Her cheeks were puffed out and she was shooting sharp looks my way—it was exactly like Yui, except way less intimidating.
I dunno if that’s good or bad, but it just didn’t hit the same at all.
“Anyway! Takuya’s off-limits, got it?”
“Whoa?”
“You too, Takuya! Nedori-kun is dangerous!”
“Even if you say that… Nedori-kun’s an important friend. He’s not dangerous at all.”
“Just get away from him already!”
“Aoi, you’re overreacting. You don’t have to yank me like that.”
While Otaku-kun was smiling vaguely and resisting a little, Aoi finally snapped.
“Fine, whatever! Takuya you idiot!!”
She stormed off back to her seat in a huff.
Even so, Otaku-kun still looked clueless and just tilted his head like huh?
“Why’s she mad, I wonder?”
“Dude… figure that one out yourself, Otaku-kun.”
Oblivious protagonist is classic rom-com stuff, but man, Otaku-kun is on another level of dense.

“Nedori-kun, can I talk to you for a sec?”
That happened after school.
The second class ended I was rushing to get home.
Normally I’d study in the self-study space in front of the staff room, but today I had a reason to bolt right away.
Yui’s at my place.
Right when class finished, I got a message.
『I’m at Nedori-kun’s house right now』
Coming home to my girlfriend waiting? That’s literally a dream. No wonder I couldn’t stop grinning.
Between Otaku-kun and Yui, I’m seriously blessed with people.
I was thinking that while heading out of the classroom when suddenly Aoi called out to me.
“Whoa?”
“Just for a minute! Please!”
She put her hands together begging.
We’d never really talked one-on-one without Otaku-kun around, so it was kinda surprising she came to me.
But whatever, no reason to refuse. I was gonna have to tell her about me and Yui anyway.
“Sure! Somewhere with less people better?”
“Yeah! Let’s go to the rooftop!”
“Whoa? We can get in?”
“It’s fine. I actually go up there with Takuya a lot.”
Ah, got it. Classic rom-com logic.
School rooftops are supposed to be locked, but the main characters in love comedies can always get in somehow. Don’t ask how—it just works.
“This way, this way!”
She walked ahead with light steps, leading me right to the rooftop door.
Aoi turned the knob without any hesitation and—yep, it wasn’t locked. Door swung right open.
“Wow, it’s super windy today〜”
“For real. Too windy, dude.”
“But I kinda like it this strong〜”
The second we stepped out, a crazy strong wind hit us full force.
Aoi walked over near the fence, spread both arms wide, and just let the wind crash into her whole body.
The wind was roaring, her hair whipping around wildly while she narrowed her eyes.
And somehow… it still looked really good on her.
If Aoi’s the sun, then Yui’s the moon.
They’re twins with almost the same face, but the vibe is that different.
“Today I called you out here because of Yui.”
After a bit she finally spoke.
From the rooftop you could see the school field. The soccer club was running around chasing the ball, but she kept talking anyway.
“I already know you started going out with Yui.”
“Whoa? Yui told you?”
“Told… or more like threatened? She was like ‘don’t you dare take Nedori-kun too’ or something. You get the vibe, right?”
“Y-yeah.”
She gave a wry smile.
I don’t know exactly what their sister relationship is like, but she clearly knows how scary Yui gets when she goes full psycho mode.
“But I never thought you’d end up dating her. I was shocked enough that Yui was dating anyone, but of all people a classmate? Wow.”
“It really was just a bunch of crazy coincidences. Felt straight-up like fate.”
“Hmm… you really like Yui a lot, huh.”
She narrowed her eyes and looked at me—kinda suspicious, kinda checking.
“Obviously.”
“Right. As her big sister, I’m happy to hear that〜”
She said that, but her attitude didn’t match.
She seemed darker than usual, and the smile looked fake, like she was forcing it.
Her eyes weren’t smiling at all.
Calling me out here on purpose, acting like this—it didn’t feel like the usual Aoi.
What the hell is she thinking?
While I was wondering that,
“Well, let’s head back. I just wanted to make sure you guys are really dating, that’s all.”
“Whoa? That’s it?”
“Yup yup. That’s it. Finding out who my little sister’s dating is kinda a big deal, y’know? We’re in the same class, so it felt urgent.”
“Yeah, fair enough.”
Honestly I was super let down, but at least she’s not against us dating. Just knowing that made the whole thing worth it, I guess.
I decided to think that way and started following her back toward the school building.
Then suddenly Aoi stopped and turned around.
“Oh right. There was actually one more reason I called you out today. This is my last warning!”
She paused there, took a deep breath,
“With Yui…”
“Be careful.”
Her face when she said it was completely blank.
The sunny brightness that was supposed to be there had vanished, and she seemed to be staring somewhere far away.
I didn’t know what that meant.
But some weird, uncomfortable feeling settled deep in my chest.
And without ever figuring out what that feeling really was…
Time just kept passing.
