I Got Reincarnated as a Villainous Noble, and When I Tried to Create an All-Male Academy to Avoid a Bad Ending, for Some Reason the Gender Ratio Reversed? - Chapter 8
Chapter 8: My Fiancée Attacked Me While I Was Sleeping
That night.
I lay on my back on the bed in my room, staring up at the ceiling.
The first day of school had really been a lot.
The gender ratio was actually reversed, I was exposed to all kinds of stares, for some reason people around me thanked me, I got surrounded, I got invited places, and I even ran into one of the original story’s heroines.
Just thinking back on it, the amount of information was overwhelming.
If there was one thing I regretted, it was that I never managed to meet up with Fran after all.
She technically lived at the count family’s mansion, but lately she had been staying over at the marquis family’s house.
No, “staying over” wasn’t quite right—it was more like half-living-together.
I didn’t know the exact details, but she was just normally there when I woke up in the morning and still there when I went to bed at night. That situation had been going on for a while.
So I had naturally assumed that once I got home, I would see her like usual, but my expectation was completely off.
“…I’m tired.”
My body was definitely exhausted, but my mind was wide awake, so I couldn’t fall asleep. There were just too many things to think about.
As I turned over while thinking that,
“…………”
A creak came from the door as it opened.
Rose the maid?
I thought so for a second, but if it was her, she would definitely knock first. Coming in silently in the middle of the night wasn’t normal.
—Could it be an intruder?
The moment that thought crossed my mind, tension ran through me.
Even though there were guards, this place was basically a marquis family vacation house rented near the academy.
It wouldn’t be strange if one or two thieves managed to sneak in. Better to stay on guard.
I quietly lifted my body inside the blankets without making a sound, then pretended to be asleep while straining my ears.
There was only one person. The footsteps were close—probably right in front of me.
—They’re coming.
“…!”
The moment the intruder reached out, I moved on instinct.
I grabbed their wrist, flipped our positions, and pushed them down.
“Don’t move!”
The bed creaked, and the moonlight illuminated the intruder.
Then their face became clearly visible.
“…Huh?”
I was stunned by what I saw.
Silver hair and deep purple-blue eyes. The person lying there defenseless in pajamas was, of all people, the one I had wanted to see most.
“Fran?”
“Ol-sama?”
My fiancée, still pinned beneath me, had pink blooming across her cheeks.
I couldn’t hide my surprise at the situation.
“…I thought you were a thief.”
“Fufu, I’ve been pinned down by Ol-sama.”
She smiled on the bed without resisting at all.
“What did you come here for?”
“I came for some skinship.”
“Please stop, you’re bad for my heart.”
Saying that, I hurriedly tried to pull away. I wasn’t confident I could keep my reason in check any longer.
But she grabbed my clothes and wouldn’t let go. There seemed to be a strong determination deep in her eyes.
“No. Please don’t pull away.”
“…Fran?”
“I was very anxious all day today. So many women surrounded you at the academy. They were approaching you, and Ol-sama looked so happy about it.”
“I absolutely was not looking happy about it.”
“No, you were. You looked delighted being surrounded by women. While leaving your fiancée—me—aside.”
Fran puffed out her cheeks in dissatisfaction and gave me a sullen, half-lidded stare.
“While leaving your fiancée—me—aside.”
“You don’t have to emphasize it. I have no intention of keeping anyone other than my fiancée by my side.”
“I know. I know Ol-sama isn’t the kind of person who would cheat.”
For a moment, she shot me a sharp look.
I had no reason to feel guilty, yet my spine felt like it might freeze. It was truly strange.
“Even so, words alone aren’t enough to calm my anxiety. I’m so anxious I can hardly stand it.”
She sat up and placed both hands on my shoulders.
Then, with moist eyes, she whispered.
“I’m already fifteen. And I’m Ol-sama’s fiancée.”
“Yeah.”
“So why won’t Ol-sama spend the night with me?”
That question hit like a bomb.
No, “bomb” was too weak a word. It was enough to easily shatter my reason.
“I’m anxious. Anxious that maybe I’m not attractive. Anxious that Ol-sama doesn’t see me as a woman. I’m so anxious I can hardly stand it.”
“Wait. That’s a completely different issue.”
I immediately cut her off and desperately resisted as she tried to push me down.
“Fran is attractive as a woman. But spending the night together is something else.”
“Why is that?”
The reason was simple. I hadn’t avoided the doom flags yet.
If I slept with her and then ended up getting executed afterward, what would happen?
Just thinking about it made it impossible for me to take that step.
If I got executed, I wouldn’t be able to take responsibility even if I wanted to. I couldn’t guarantee her future.
That’s why I absolutely couldn’t carelessly spend the night with her. Absolutely not.
But I couldn’t say that out loud. There was no way she would believe talk about reincarnation or doom endings.
So I desperately swallowed the words I wanted to say and made a different suggestion instead.
“Then how about a promise?”
“A promise?”
“I’m not sure if it will completely remove your anxiety. But I think my sincerity will come through.”
I looked straight into her puzzled eyes and spoke.
“I promise. Three years from now, when we graduate from the academy…”
“—I will definitely marry Fran.”
It was both a proposal and an oath.
Graduating from the academy would mean the moment the witch was destroyed and the world became peaceful. The moment the original story reached its happy ending.
So those words were also something I was telling myself.
—I will definitely survive.
“………………”
She slowly opened her eyes, then stayed dazed for a while.
She blinked over and over, pressing a hand to her chest.
After a silence that felt like forever,
“I understand.”
She quietly murmured.
“You believe me?”
“Yes. I felt Ol-sama’s feelings clearly. That’s enough for tonight.”
Saying that, Fran moved away from me.
“Then, good night.”
She stood up, smiled, and walked toward the door.
“Fran?”
“Good night.”
I had expected her to cling a little longer, so I was surprised when she left the room so easily.
“…Well, whatever.”
I lay back down on the bed and looked up at the ceiling.
In the heat of the moment, I ended up making that promise.
There was no turning back now.
Still, the excitement I couldn’t suppress was probably because I held special feelings for her.
“……………………”
It was quite a while later before I finally fell asleep.

【Side Fran Chevalier】
I received a proposal.
I’m so excited I can’t calm down.
Tonight I think I’ll go cool off in the night breeze.
If I stayed in the same space as Ol-sama, I have no confidence I could keep my reason.
I have no confidence I could keep my reason.
I have no confidence I could keep my reason.
I have no confidence I could keep my reason.
—I have no confidence I could keep my reason.

UUuuurgh this is the most retarded reason to not do the deed. Could have used mental age as a reason or whatever but hes insistent on thinking he will get executed when he isnt a scumbag…..
This really does lower series for me as you know actual romance progression will basically be zero. Fran here for example has started as he loves her and thats where it will sit the entire series while new girls get added to the harem from the og game
I don’t see how retarded that reason is? It actually shows that the MC cares a lot about Fran that he wouldn’t want her to have a bad life (couldn’t find the word for it) by engaging in his whims early and leaving her in the late-game (either by dying or something).
Novel stuff happening anywayze is alwayze a consideration, not for this novel but for some, yes.
