I Got Reincarnated as a Villainous Noble, and When I Tried to Create an All-Male Academy to Avoid a Bad Ending, for Some Reason the Gender Ratio Reversed? - Chapter 49-50
Chapter 49: Off to the Academy
[Side: Vista]
I pushed myself like crazy to get stronger as an adventurer. I took down so many monsters, seriously just kept grinding.
First I wiped out a whole pack of ogres. Took down howling wolves too.
A succubus almost had me completely done for, but my party members saved my ass and beat her.
Then there was the goblin emperor, lizardmen, iron golem, black tiger, poison snake, rock bear—I beat all of ’em. Just kept mowing through tons of them.
On the way back, ran into another succubus and almost got wrecked again, but yep, party members handled it.
For some reason the girls in the party got super pissed and punched me during that one, but basically I didn’t fall behind against any monster.
—I can still get way stronger.
I can aim even higher. I can even surpass Orufusen!
My motivation never ran out. The more strong enemies I beat, the more fired up I got, and I just kept rolling with that momentum to crush whatever came next.
And finally, I even took down a space-time dragon. That thing was on a whole different level from a wyvern—way stronger. I actually almost died a couple times, but I just kept attacking nonstop until it went down.
Thanks to my party members helping out, I beat a legendary monster.
That pretty much cleared out all the big tough ones.
Now, what’s left… yeah. The one monster—or enemy—people call a threat to the whole world? There’s only one.
“Time to take down the witch!”
—In three years the world ends.
That’s the rumor quietly spreading among adventurers.
Honestly, I got no clue if it’s real or not.
I’m the type who doesn’t believe in fortune-telling or prophecies anyway. Only stuff I see with my own eyes is truth.
But if it’s an opponent strong enough to actually destroy the world? That’s a different story.
Fighting a monster like that? Nothing could be better.
I gotta fight. No choice but to fight!
Only problem is where the hell the witch even is…
“Big news, man. Word is the witch’s sealed up at the Royal Magic Academy or somethin’?”
“Huh. The academy, huh.”
“Dunno if it’s true though.”
“Nah, it’s fine.”
Still… the academy…
The second I heard that word, one person popped right into my head.
—Orufusen.
The guy who backed adventurers. The hero who saved the town from danger. And the one I gotta look up to as my goal. My rival I absolutely have to surpass no matter what.
Sounds like he’s still going to the academy.
Honestly, I always wondered why a guy that strong was wasting time on school life. I thought he should’ve just become an adventurer.
But now I get it.
—He’s going after the witch.
That’s why he’s staying at the academy. So when the seal breaks, he can be the first one to deal with her. To protect the world.
No doubt about it.
—Then I can’t afford to lose.
He’s always one step ahead of me, but hey, I’ve gotten stronger too. Time to show him what all that training was for!
“Let’s go.”
I gripped my sword tighter and took a step forward with my party members.
“Off to the academy!”
This is where the real fight starts.
Wait for me, hero!
——————————-
Ol-sama, who’s now officially and undeniably a total ladies’ man, is finally gonna meet the original protagonist, Vista.
—
Chapter 50: The Original Protagonist Shows Up
Marilyn’s issue got sorted out.
Her engagement to the crown prince officially ended, and the doom ending got dodged.
—I should’ve finally been free.
But life doesn’t go that smoothly, y’know.
Just like the saying “when one trouble leaves, another comes right after,” annoying stuff keeps piling on one after another.
“Ol-sama, got a minute?”
After breakfast, Rose came up to me with this super serious look on her face.
Normally she’d just flop onto the sofa like she owned it or start bugging me for fun, but today she was actually being all proper. Weird.
What the heck happened?
“What’s up?”
I asked anyway, and she went,
“The Adventurer’s Guild sent a request to the academy.”
“Huh.”
“Apparently this adventurer named Vista wants to enroll here.”
“Hah?”
It hit me so hard I let out this dumb noise without thinking.
Vista’s the original protagonist.
He wasn’t supposed to go to the academy at all—he was out there being an adventurer the whole time. So why’s he showing up now of all times?
“Why?”
“He said there’s someone at the academy he wants to surpass.”
“Someone to surpass?”
The headmaster maybe? Or Lucina?
But wait, was he that kinda hot-blooded guy?
I always thought he was more the classic harem protagonist type, but maybe all that adventurer life changed him.
Honestly, after dealing with Marilyn’s mess, I was pretty worn out and just wanted some chill, peaceful days at the academy. This news made me wanna bury my head in my hands.
“…Got it.”
Still, it was true I wanted to meet him face-to-face at least once before the witch came back.
I knew he was way stronger than in the original story, but I still wanted to see his strength with my own eyes.
Plus it’d be good to get some interaction with Lucina and Alenaria too.
Having all the main original characters in one place was a solid chance.
“By the way, when’s he starting?”
“Today, apparently.”
“Today!?”
Way too sudden.
But I guess that kinda quick footwork is exactly why these guys are top adventurers.
“Haa…”
Bad premonitions and some weird excitement were both growing inside me at the same time, but I still got ready and headed to the academy.
※
I took the usual carriage ride to school.
“……………………”
It used to be the three of us riding together, but today I was alone for once, so it felt super quiet.
Marilyn wasn’t in the capital anymore, and Fran was apparently too busy with stuff and taking a break from school.
I kinda missed that tense air in the carriage when Fran and Marilyn were always at each other’s throats, and while I was thinking about that, the carriage got to the academy pretty quick.
But right before I stepped out, I noticed the area around us was unusually noisy. The vibe felt… off.
Like something foreign had just dropped into a quiet space.
“What’s going on?”
The second I got out of the carriage, I understood everything.
They were all lined up.
The exact lineup straight out of the original story.
“We’re getting stared at so muchhh.”
First thing I saw was this girl with soft cream-colored hair giving off a gentle vibe.
Petite, with the kinda face that screamed she’d trip over nothing, looking all nervous and glancing around—she was Tore.
One of the super rare recovery magic users in this country.
“Such intense stares, isn’t it? It just goes to show how famous we’ve become.”
Right next to her stood a blonde drill-haired ojou-sama type.
Back straight, hair so glossy you wouldn’t think she was an adventurer—she was Kanaria.
She gave off big high-firepower mage energy, but in the original she was actually the tank.
“Isn’t it more like we’re just standing out for the wrong reasons?”
And then there was this guy with a thin smile like he was done with everything—Orion.
He talked in this kinda Kansai-dialect way, a front-liner who mostly handled info gathering.
Narrow eyes, kinda shady look, that classic “he’s gonna betray the protagonist halfway through” vibe with the Kansai accent, but surprisingly he was actually reliable.
“Standing out? Nah, once we show what we can do, that’ll flip in a second!”
And finally, the last one who came into view.
Short black hair. Gear covered in scars. Somehow carefree, yet eyes that were dead straight and honest.
Always smiling—like a walking sun.
—Vista.
The original protagonist was standing right there in front of the school gate, bold as anything.
Meaning his whole party was assembled.
It looked so exactly like the scene from the original that I almost got a little emotional.
But somehow… he was giving off way more of a powerhouse aura than in the story.
Zero rom-com vibes. Felt straight-up like a Jump protagonist.
“Oh!”
While I was thinking that, Vista noticed me.
The second he locked eyes on me, his face lit up.
He walked straight over without any hesitation and flashed this super bright grin full of teeth.
“You’re Olufusen, right? Been dying to meet you, hero.”
He stuck his hand out like that.
Hero? Who’s he calling hero?
I thought that, but his hand was still shoved right in front of me. And from all the eyes suddenly turning our way, yeah, he was definitely talking to me.
Me? A hero?
Questions kept piling up, but I had no choice, so I took his hand.
We shook, and Vista nodded all satisfied.
“I’m Orufusen Starz Island.”
“Nice to meet ya. I’m Vista. The guy who’s gonna take down the witch and become a hero someday.”
“Huh.”
So he was planning to beat the witch. That was actually pretty helpful.
“And these guys are—”
He turned around and pointed at the three behind him.
“My party members. From left: Tore, Kanaria, Orion.”
“Nice to meet youuu.”
“We met at the ball before, didn’t we? It’s been a while.”
“Yo.”
“Yo.”
Surrounded by his party, I was feeling this awkward tension when,
“Oh yeah. Since we’re here, why don’t we all introduce ourselves properly?”
“Th-that’s embarrassinggg.”
“Sounds fun. Shall we show off a little?”
“Yare yare, doing that here is just gonna make us stick out more.”
“Come on, it’s fine! Just once!”
After talking it over, they lined up straight in front of me.
They exchanged glances, then all opened their mouths at the same time.
“I’m Vista!”
“Tore desuuu.”
“Kanaria desu wa.”
“Orion ya.”
“Yeah, we’re the S-rank adventurer party!”
They puffed out their chests and declared it proudly.
“—The Orufu Rangers!”
A second of dead silence. I couldn’t process what they just said—my brain straight-up froze.
But I couldn’t stay quiet forever.
“Huh?”
What the hell was that cheesy line?
But more importantly, something else bugged me way harder. The party name was obviously messed up.
“What’d you just say?”
“Orufu Rangers!”
“Huh?”
No way I heard that right. Please let it be a mishearing.
But from how the other students reacted, nope. Some of them were even getting hyped because they heard my name.
Probably not a mistake then.
—Orufu Rangers.
“Why’s it got my name in it?”
“Why? ‘Cause you’re our goal, obviously!”
Vista gave a big thumbs-up like that was the most natural thing ever.
Behind him, Tore gave a tiny nod, Kanaria crossed her arms and huffed proudly through her nose, and Orion muttered under his breath, “Isn’t this kinda bad without his permission?”
“……………………”
What the hell kinda joke party name is that.
My brain was stuck on nothing but that. I didn’t even care about them using my name without asking or whatever.
There wasn’t a party name in the original anyway, so no comparison, but come on—Orufu Rangers is way too lame.
No way that name could take down a witch.
“Can you guys change the party name?”
“No way! I love this name!”
“…I see.”
“Actually, Orufu Rangers is pretty well-known at the Adventurer’s Guild too. The young adventurers who look up to us are even called Oruf Children now. Changing it at this point would be tough.”
“Oruf Children?”
Apparently my name was getting misused in ways I didn’t even know about.
They’d already started a cult around me without asking, so it was kinda late for complaints, but still—this was a total violation of basic human rights.
I couldn’t help looking up at the sky.
Maybe it was time to think about a name change?
