I Got Fired as a Hero Today - Vol.3 Chapter 96: Arata Is Resented
“Let’s go on a quest with us.”
The two burly adventurers approach Hinako and Suzu.
“Ugh, what do you want from us?”
Hinako furrows her brow.
“No way…”
Suzu quietly declines.
“These girls are so unfriendly. But if you keep saying things like that, you won’t be able to operate in this area. After all, I’m a Rank B adventurer. Don’t you know the name Ed? I’m quite famous among fellow adventurers.”
Ed was snorting and puffing himself up.
“I don’t know you.”
“I don’t know…”
Hinako and Suzu were being aloof.
In other words, they were being hit on. Since both of them were beautiful girls, the men couldn’t just ignore them.
Arata apologized to Sarah and headed towards the two.
He patted Ed on the shoulder.
“I’m sorry, but they’re my companions. Could you look elsewhere?”
Ed turned around and looked at Arata, a clear look of disdain lighting up his eyes.
“Hey, don’t you dare give me orders. You wanna die?”
The adventurer named Ed threatened Arata. This guy isn’t even worth considering as an enemy. There’s no need to deal with him.
He was about to shoo him away when the adventurer next to him turned pale upon seeing Arata’s face.
“Kill me… I see.”
Haa, Arata sighed. Are all adventurers like this…
“Guess I’ll have to duel again…” he muttered. There’s no choice but to brush off the sparks that fall. That’s Isabella’s teaching, and Arata is faithful to it.
“N-no! That’s not it! I’m so sorry!”
The pale adventurer bowed his head with a trembling voice.
“Hey, hey, what’s wrong with you guys?”
Ed was bewildered by his companions’ fear.
“Y-you idiot! Do you even know who this person is?”
He grabbed Ed by the collar.
“What the hell is going on all of a sudden?!”
He whispered in his ear, “This is the rumored Arata.”
“Seriously?”
“Seriously.”
“That guy who took down that Kyouki in an instant?”
“Yeah. You didn’t see it, but don’t mistake your opponent.”
Ed had a look of disbelief on his face.
However, when he glanced around, the guild was eerily silent.
That’s when Ed finally realized. The towering Ed had an intimidating presence. Despite that, Arata shows no signs of fear.
On the contrary, his eyes are gleaming with a cold light.
It must be the instinct of a Rank B adventurer. A warning bell rings in Ed’s mind.
If he wants to survive, he has to get through it.
Someone said, “That guy is dead.”
“What’s going on here?”
Arata points to the door at the entrance of the guild.
“Outside――’I’m sorry! I didn’t know it was you, Arata-san!'”
Ed bowed deeply, more than 90 degrees, to apologize for his rudeness.
“I don’t know what to call this as an apology.”
He offered a leather pouch from his waist with trembling hands. It probably contained money or something similar.
“No, I don’t need it.”
Arata was taken aback.

After finishing the registration, they left the Adventurers’ Guild.
“Hey, what kind of person is Arata?”
Hinako stared intently at Arata’s face.
“Just an F-rank adventurer. Just like you, Hinako.”
Arata showed a reaction as if to say, “What are you talking about?”
“We’re the same?”
Hinako seemed unconvinced.
“Arata is special.”
Suzu interjected.
“Isn’t it special for you, a bit different?”
Suzu tilted her head.
“Then, it’s fine.”
“If Suzu isn’t aware of her own feelings, there’s nothing I can do.” Hinako thought.

2In the treatment center at Alfsnada Cathedral, Nadja, a close aide of Chancellor Cal Ke Alc, visited.
“Huh? Why me!?”
“D-Don’t joke with me!”
Shouts echoed in the treatment center.
Kyouki, a former Rank A adventurer, and Rusdo, a thief appointed as the hero’s bodyguard, were there.
“I’m not joking. This is a decision made by the country. You two will have your contracts with the Adventurers’ Guild terminated. Therefore, your guild cards will become unusable. Additionally, Rusdo-sama’s contract for the demon king subjugation will also be terminated. Furthermore, Rusdo-sama will be required to return the advance payment for the contract to escort the hero.”
Nadja explained calmly.
“No way!?”
Rusdo muttered with an incredulous look.
“No, it’s not a lie. Also, the treatment costs for both of you this time will not be covered by the Adventurers’ Guild and will be entirely out of your own pocket.”
Nadja explained while holding a document.
“What do you mean? Explain!”
Kyouki was not satisfied.
“In this country, the hero is the most prioritized existence above all else. You attempted to harm that hero. It was you who ultimately suffered harm. This punishment is a just decision.”
“Hey, I’m a rank A adventurer, alright!? Are you really going to let that go? Oh, what about the Sword Saint’s opinion? That person always puts adventurers first. The Sword Saint would have opposed such a punishment.”
Well? Nadja shrugged.
“I’m just a pawn in this. I have no idea how the decision for the punishment of the two of you came about.”
“Young man! Is it true that you dueled Arata?!”
The one who entered, saying this was Gyle, an adventurer who, like Rusdo, was assigned to protect the hero.
Gyle had been taken care of by Kyouki since his early days at the Adventurer’s Guild, and he looked up to him like an older brother.
“You came at a good time, brother. Explain to her how much I’ve contributed to the adventurers.”
“Gyle, explain that I have excellent thief skills, or else…”
Both of them had their wounds almost healed by a high-level healer, but it was clear that if they had to bear the cost of this treatment themselves, it would lead to a huge deficit.
However, Gyle was just bewildered as he didn’t understand the situation.
“Gyle-sama, that’s not necessary. I have simply come to convey the decision to you two in an official capacity, and even if you were to explain how capable these two are, they are not in a position to overturn this decision.”
“Ah, I see…”
Gyle responds without understanding and is unaware of the details.
“Then, I’m off.”
“H-Hey! We still have business to discuss!”
“I have no further business with you.”
Nadja said that and left the room.
There was no way to hold on to her.
“Damn it, why did it come to this!?”
Rusdo held his head in his hands.
“Arata… ever since getting involved with that guy, nothing good has happened. If it weren’t for him, everything would have gone smoothly. Damn it!! That guy, of all people!”
Kyouki’s eyes burned with the flames of revenge.
