I Got Dumped by My Childhood Friend Fiancée Who I Didn’t Even Like, I Thought I Could Finally Have a Peaceful School Life… But Then I Got Targeted by SS-Class Beautiful Young Ladies - Chapter 11
Chapter 11: [Unreasonable] The Morning I Swore I’d Never Wake Up Early Again
The air in the classroom got just a tiny bit tense.
I brushed off Ryuki’s hand that was resting on my shoulder and slowly lifted my face.
“You’ve seriously got terrible eyesight, huh. Want me to introduce you to a good eye doctor?”
“…Huh?”
“You saw it, right? I wasn’t the one who started talking to her.”
I just straight-up said the facts, but Ryuki’s brows furrowed even deeper.
“Akari’s super kind, y’know? She was just being considerate and said hi to you. But to me, it looked like you were taking advantage of that kindness… like you were dragging the conversation out ’cause you still can’t let her go, Yoichi.”
Ryuki said it with this mocking smirk, clearly trying to hide how pissed off his face actually looked.
Seriously… why the hell is this guy the one getting mad? If anyone’s got the right to be angry here, it’s me. Getting dragged into this annoying crap first thing in the morning, and then seriously being accused of still having feelings for Akari.
Man, today I actually woke up early for once and was having a nice relaxed morning… Yep, decided. Early mornings suck. Nothing good ever comes from them.
While I was cursing him out inside my head, I kept my elbow on the desk and gave Ryuki a quick side-eye.
“Yeah yeah, got it. If you think I’ve still got feelings, then sure, whatever. So next time, make damn sure you tell your girlfriend not to talk to me ever again, okay?”
“…! You little—”
A sharp tongue click rang out at the same time as the dull, inorganic thud of a hand slamming down on a desk.
Before I knew it, the whole classroom had frozen solid, the air thick with that one-step-from-exploding tension.
But honestly? I had zero intention of getting into a real fight with this guy. Dealing with him was just a waste of time and energy, and I couldn’t see a single upside to dragging this out any longer.
I swallowed yet another sigh—I’d lost count how many that was today—then locked eyes with Ryuki and finally spoke.
“…Fine. My bad. I won’t talk to Akari ever again… That good enough for you?”
Honestly, even just pretending to admit fault to this jerk pissed me off, but whatever—I was planning to stay away anyway, so fine. Knowing his personality, nothing less was gonna calm him down.
For just a second, surprise flashed across Ryuki’s face.
But then he broke into this smug, satisfied grin.
“Haha! Should’ve said that from the start! You’ve always been nothing but a dropout riding on your family’s name. Just stay outta the way from now on.”
He spat the words out like trash, then gave my shoulder a light shove.
In his head, this probably counted as him winning… Whatever. I don’t care.
“…Yeah.”
I gave a short reply and dropped my eyes back to my desk.
Looking pleased with my reaction, Ryuki finally lost interest and wandered off somewhere.
The only person left around me now that things had calmed down was Akari, standing quietly behind me.
No idea why she was still there, but I had zero intention of turning around. I just buried my face in my arms on the desk and waited for her to leave.
Suddenly, I heard a tiny gasp from behind me.
Akari was about to say something. Maybe she didn’t get what just happened, or maybe she did and was trying to mess with me anyway. Either way, I wasn’t gonna respond.
“Um, Yoichi—”
But the second the words left her mouth and vibrated the air—
“…Ow!”
Something hit me right on the head.
I picked up whatever fell and hit the floor. Looked like… an arrow? With just a tiny bit of sponge stuck on the tip, like a half-assed safety thing—
…
…………
………………Wait. An arrow…?
That’s weird. Way too weird. Even if this is some fancy noble school and not a normal high school, arrows flying into the classroom is straight-up unacceptable.
At first I thought maybe one of the classmates was pranking me, but nah—that wasn’t it. Everyone in the room was staring straight at the open window right next to me.
Bad feeling rising, I hurried over to the window and stepped out onto the balcony.
Then I made a huge grimace.
Up one floor, on the connecting corridor that leads to the opposite building… standing there were the three conglomerate heiresses.
…Yeah, okay. Got it. Instant culprit identification.
The second they noticed me, all three of them started doing this synchronized gesture like they were saying “Did you read it properly?” Definitely not the vibe of people who just shot an arrow at someone.
Inside the classroom, a weird buzz started up over this bizarre morning incident that really didn’t fit the fresh vibe.
“…Huh, what was that?”
“Where’d it come from…?”
“Who pulled a prank like that!?”
Uh, you guys know exactly who…
Well, can’t be helped. Unless you lean way out over the balcony, you can’t even see those idiots.
I let out a small sigh, then took another look at the arrow I’d left on my desk.
Now that I looked closer, there was a tiny piece of paper tied near the fletching. Probably one of those classic “arrow letters” things.
I kinda had a feeling how this was gonna end, but I still carefully unfolded the paper.
Written there in weirdly neat handwriting was:
‘Today. Club activities’
…That’s it!? And it’s straight-up an order!?
That’s when it hit me.
Those three… they weren’t hanging around outside the classroom out of worry. They just wanted to make 100% sure I’d actually shown up to school. All so they could pull this nonsense…
I almost crushed the paper in my fist—nah, screw that, I already crumpled it.
I quickly checked the corridor again. Yup, the three of them were still standing there.
I glared at them hard, then spun on my heel and—
“I’m definitely gonna give them an earful!”
With that momentum, I bolted out of the classroom.
Pretty sure Akari said something as I passed, but right now I had zero time or words to spare for her.
In the end, I couldn’t find the three of them anywhere.
The pre-homeroom bell echoed emptily through the school while I stood there panting. In my head, I repeated the vow with iron determination—this much I was gonna keep no matter what.
—I am never, ever waking up early again.

Nvm, vro. I’m sorry I thought that you’re part of her scheme…
