Chapter 50: Harry Changing

“Aaaaaargh… I will never allow commoners to rise… Nobles are the true justice… Commoners and slaves are nothing more than expendable tools… Only to be used and thrown away afterward…”

Harry was speaking like a zombie. His skin had turned pitch black and he was staggering on his feet. 

I didn’t know how and what happened but it seemed he had become undead. 

I couldn’t leave him be. I had a feeling Harry was as dangerous as Alan.

I immediately summoned a shotgun and shot him in the head again. Harry’s head disappeared without a trace and yet, the remaining part of his body kept on walking like a zombie. His appearance was so eerie that I couldn’t help but to grimace. 

Then, a voice came from above. 

“He will regenerate indefinitely until he runs out of energy.”

“Regenerate?”

I looked up to see the ragged-looking boy smiling kindly at me. 

“Kanato-nii.”

“Hm? How did you know my name?”

“I’ve heard stuff about big brother from Persephone-sama.”

“Stuff about me…”

The young boy kept looking at me, smiling as he did so. His gaze was so warm, as if he had found a comrade. A dear friend. 

“Kanato-nii, you’ve been through a lot, haven’t you? But it’s okay. Harry has become an undead. He has become my slave. A slave of a slave.”

“A slave of a slave…”

“Yeah. The eldest son of a duke has become the slave of a slave.”

His words were really strange but I decided to ask the thing that I was curious about the most. 

“Can you tell me how come Harry became an undead?”

“…Since Kanato-nii is the one asking, there’s no way I can refuse answering it.”

The young boy sighed before he answered. 

“Harry sought the power of the undead from Alan-nii. It seemed Harry was trying to get this kingdom under his thumb with the power of undead. He wanted to obtain a power strong enough that even the royalty and other nobles wouldn’t be able to oppose him. All in order to become the king of this world through brute force.”

“…Are you speaking the truth?”

“It is the truth. I’m a slave. Unlike nobles, I don’t lie.”

“Normally, one needs to pledge loyalty to Persephone-sama in order to wield the power of the undead. The power of the undead is very strong after all. However, for some reason, Harry went berserk and.. He ended up in this grotesque form.”

“So Harry isn’t dead yet?”

“Yeah. Technically he’s still alive. But the rampage had already begun right before Kanato-nii killed him.”

“I see…”

“This rarely happens though. That’s why I will thoroughly discipline this slave of mine and offer him to Persephone-sama.”

“…..”

On the outside, he looked like a normal 10 years old boy but the words he uttered sent shivers down my spine.

“Commoners and slaves… I will kill them all… They ruined my plan… Kill…. I WILL KILL THEM ALL!!! ARGHHH!!!!”

Before I knew it, Harry’s head had returned to normal. He started going berserk. He summoned ice pillars and infused them with the power of the undead. 

He then hurled those ice pillars towards the boy floating in the sky. 

“Foolish noble. You should’ve just let yourself become my slave obediently.”

The young boy deftly dodged the ice pillars and then he summoned a pitch-black chain. He hurled the chain at Harry, binding his body like creeping vines entwining around trees and buildings. 

“ARGHH!! You shitty slave! Me?? A slave?! Know your place! I am Harry de Percy, the eldest son of a duke! I will kill all of your siblings!! I will kill your parents!! I will slaughter everything you hold dear!!”

Harry, bound tightly by the black chain, struggled and squirmed to no avail as he shouted. 

“You’re quite strong. I didn’t expect you’d still be able to thrash around like that while being bound by the chains of death that Persephone-sama gave to me…”

“I WILL KILL YOU!! I WILL KILL YOU!! YOU FILTHY SLAVE!! HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO MY NOBLE SELF?!”

Seemingly losing his mind, Harry tried his best to break the chains. He looked like a madman, the way he thrashed around wildly. However, the boy summoned a black whip and began striking Harry with it with all of his strength.

“ARGHHHH!!! MY OWN PARENTS NEVER HIT ME AND YET, A WRETCHED SLAVE LIKE YOU DARE TO HIT ME?!”

“Just be quiet and follow me obediently.”

“DON’T ORDER ME AROUND!! ARGHHH!!”

Harry kept resisting and the young boy also kept whipping him mercilessly. 

“Kanato-niisama, until we meet again.”

“………”

The young boy last said before he flew away while holding onto the chain. 

“LET GO!! LET ME GO!!!! YOU DARE NOT LISTENING TO THE WORD OF A NOBLE?! LET ME GO!!!”

I stood there, dumbfounded. I couldn’t do anything. I just let the scene unfolding before me. The other nobles also just stood there with their mouth agape. All of us simply watched still as Harry was taken away by the young boy. 

When the boy disappeared with Harry, the arena fell silent. Several seconds passed in silent before…

“KYAAAA!!”

“THE HECK?? WHAT WAS THAT??”

“Harry-sama.. He became an undead…?”

“ARGHHH!! I DIDN’T SEE ANYTHING!! I DIDN’T SEE ANYTHING AT ALL!! PLEASE, JUST LET ALL OF THE COMMONERS DIE AWAY!!”

“How terrifying… Just what is happening with this kingdom?”

“We need to leave this kingdom promptly….”

Almost all of the spectators plunged into chaos and shock. 

Today was supposed to be just a regular practice exam for the school but not only Harry and Bern were caught trying to do something horrible to my little sister and Elena-sama, but then, Harry suddenly proposed for a duel with me and someone (who I assumed a member of Genesis) turned Harry into an undead and took him away just like that. 

The nobles of Halkeginia Kingdom, along with other important figures from different kingdoms, all of them witnessed this horrific scene unfolding with their very own eyes. 

Just what is going to happen from here on?

Sighing, I headed toward Jeff-sama and Mia-sama. The two of them were breathing heavily. Next to them, I could see Luna-sama, who also looked exhausted. 

“….”

Beside those three, Selene-sama stood motionless. She looked utterly crushed. Her reaction was understandable though. Not only was her fiancé colluding with Alan, but he was also a traitor who was planning to overthrow the kingdom. 

Her dull eyes were now wet with unshed tears. She turned her eyes at me. She gazed at me intently with deep, sorrowful eyes, as if she intended to bore a hole through me.
