Chapter 32: A Summon From Luna

A Few Days Later, at the Outdoor Table in Central Magic School.

All members of Five Star were enjoying their delicious meal. The midday sun was shining over us, bathing us in its pleasant warmth that made us feel sleepy. 

However, the other people around us were feeling restless and anxious, giving off a negative aura. 

“I heard a member of an organization called Genesis attacked the party at the palace.”

“Oh! I’ve heard about that! It’s a terrifying organization made up of commoners who can use magic. I heard they want to overthrow the kingdom.”

“A Level 4 person got attacked and killed.”

“Uwah… Scary…”

Everyone was talking about Genesis all day long. 

And some were even talking about…

“We have commoners that can use magic in our school, right….?”

“Commoners…”

The nobles glanced at me and Rina while whispering among themselves. 

Well, this is not a surprise though. I know people are going to react like this. They’re going to put us on the same pedestal as Alan. Before this incident, the nobles were looking down on us but now… They are wary of us. Alan’s display of force put the fear in their head. They’re now aware that if they keep discriminating against commoners who can use magic, they’re going to suffer from severe consequences in the future. 

After all, a Level 4 died at the hand of Alan. I’m not interested in Alan or Genesis’s true goal or anything but because of them, Rina and I have become the object to be wary of. From being looked down upon and discriminated against, people are now afraid of us. How ironic. 

I sighed softly.

“Kanato, you said you’re going to help the princesses, didn’t you? *Munch munch*.”

Jeff-sama said while eating my onigiri. 

Then, Mia-sama, who was also eating my onigiri, also chipped in.

“What a surprise. I never expected Rhea-sama would offer such an incredible proposal to Kanato-san…. Logically speaking, her proposal is impossible to realize but… Well, to be fair… If it’s Kanato-san, nothing is impossible I guess.”

With a serious expression on her face, Mia-sama took another bite of my onigiri.

“Fufu~ This is my Onii-sama we’re talking about after all!”

My little sister proudly puffed out her voluptuous bosom and flashed a wide smirk on her face. It seemed her breasts had grown bigger recently. I would need to remind her to tone down on puffing her chest out or any kind of gestures that might accentuate her chest. 

I noticed that although the boys around were still talking about Genesis, but they kept sneaking glances at Rina’s chest. 

Well, I can’t say I don’t understand their feelings but… I guess I’m really a siscon after all?

I pondered to myself while smiling wryly. 

『Announcement from the student council. Kanato-san from the lowest class of the second year, please come to the student council room immediately after finishing your lunch.』

Luna-sama’s announcement caused a stir among the people around us. 

But not Jeff-sama. 

Jeff-sama proudly lifted his bangs with his hand. 

“Ah~ Kanato is so popular with the ladies~ To have the beautiful Luna-sama monitoring you personally…. You won’t be able to get that honor no matter how much money you have~♫”

“No-No… It’s not like that…”

Sensing two sharp gazes aimed at me, I immediately denied his accusation while waving my hand nervously.

I glanced at Rina and Elena-sama. Both of their hands were tightly gripping onto their skirt while their cheeks were puffed out ever so slightly. 

They looked really cute but they also looked a bit intimidating at the same time.

At the Student Council Room

I went to the student council room after receiving the summon and there, I saw Luna-sama sitting in the student council president’s chair, waiting for me. There was no one else in this room but her. 

“What do you want?”

“….”

If there was one thing unusual about her was that she didn’t have the usual cold and calm demeanor she had always shown before. She looked somewhat anxious now. She was even glancing around nervously. 

I waited for a while and eventually, Luna-sama opened her mouth to speak to me. Albeit she still looked a bit anxious. 

“It’s about the recent incident… The one where Genesis attacked the royal palace…”

“Yeah?”

“I need more information about the man named Alan, the one that tried to attack the princess.”

“Alan, huh…”

“Yes. Since you are under my surveillance, I need to know everything about you. That’s why… Kanato-san, please tell me everything you know. Right now.”

“….”

She was being a bit pushy. Judging from her tone, it was clear to see that the ‘under surveillance’ part was just an excuse. I stared back at her with a cold expression on my face. 

“I won’t. I don’t have any obligation to tell Luna-sama anything.”

This was an extremely confidential matter involving both the royal family and the Fibel family. I couldn’t just disclose the information I knew to Luna-sama, who didn’t have any relations to this matter. 

“-!! You…”

Luna-sama was acting strange. She was trembling. 

Luna-sama bit her lip as she rose from  her chair and walked to me briskly and grabbed me by my tie. 

“You dare to oppose the order of a student council president?!”

“Luna-sama…”

“Alan is a vile and despicable human being! He needs to be disposed of as soon as possible!”

“…..”

“Speak! You saw Alan up close! You definitely know something about him! Speak! Now!”

“Luna-sama.”

“Speak now!!!”

The current Luna-sama wasn’t acting like how a student council president should behave. As the eldest daughter of the prestigious Duke Lennox family, she always maintained neutrality, never allowing anything to put her off balance. Being neutral was especially important for her family since her family had significant influence over the administration and judiciary of this kingdom. 

However, the current Luna-sama looked clearly distraught. I knew this expression very well. After all, Rina sometimes had this kind of expression on her face too when she was complaining to me about her troubles. 

At times like this, there was one thing I had to do to calm Rina down. 

Slowly, I hugged Luna-sama and whispered into her ear. 

“Please be honest to me.”

As if she had been struck by thunder, Luna-sama’s body tensed up. 

It was at this moment that I realized how foolish I was. 

This lady before me is the eldest daughter of a duke. She’s not my little sister. Just what have I done…?

“My-My-My-My apologies! I will let you go right away!”

I was about to step back when suddenly, Luna-sama wrapped both of her hands around my waist. 

“Luna-sama?!”

Confused beyond belief, I called out to her name but instead of letting me go, she buried her face in my chest instead. 

The silver strands of her hair swayed gently. I could feel how delicate her slender body was. Her soft, ample bosom was pressing against my abdomen and her scent wafted to my nose, overwhelming my senses so much so that I started to feel dizzy. 

Right when I was about to lose my composure, Luna-sama finally opened her mouth to speak. 

“…. I’m not fit to be the student council president.”

“…No. Your reaction is justified. After all, Luna-sama’s older brother was killed by Alan, right?”

Luna-sama nodded slightly.

Silence ensued between us. The sunlight peering from between the curtains cast a gentle light over us in the student council room. We stayed silent for a few minutes just like this until Luna-sama broke the silence. 

“You are really…. Really strange.”

“Then please let go of me now…!”

However, Luna-sama tightened her grip on me instead.

“Even though you’re only a commoner, but you’re incredibly strong. Elena-sama trust you. You were able to defeat a Red Dragon. You’re good at cooking. You saved the princess from Alan and… Even though you can be mean at times, but you’re actually a very gentle big brother…”

“….”

She lifted her face to stare at me. I could see the reflection of my confused face on her beautiful emerald eyes. 

She looked a bit sad but then, she suddenly puffed out her cheeks.

“You will always be kept under surveillance from now on!!”

Luna-sama turned her face away abruptly, like she was sulking at me. 

I felt like I had finally had a glimpse of Luna-sama’s humane side. 

I smiled when suddenly, someone knocked on the door from outside.

“”-!!””

We quickly separated ourselves from each other to avoid any suspicion and turned our attention at the door.

The door slowly opened, revealing a familiar looking pink haired girl donned in an expensive white dress. The girl greeted me with a bewitching expression on her face. 

“Oh my~ Kanato-san! Good day!”

“Se-Selene-sama?!”

“Princess Selene….”

Luna-sama and I stood there, dumbfounded. While Princess Selene had a bright smile on her face.

“I’ll be enrolling in this school starting from tomorrow! Of course, I’ll be in the same class as Kanato-san, the lowest class!”

Selene-sama raised her right hand as she exclaimed, seemingly overjoyed for some reason.. 

All the while, Selene-sama was staring hard at my face with the corner of her lips curled up into a seductive smile.
