I Ended Up Pretending to Be the Boyfriend of a Beautiful but Tough Classmate for Just a Month, but It Seems That She Has Awakened Her Yandere Tendencies Because of That. - Chapter 35
Chapter 35
♤
“Ah, that was delicious. Thank you for the meal.”
“Thank you too. Wasn’t it a good choice?”
“Well, of course. It’s your recommendation, so it had to be good. Don’t make it sound like it’s your own taste.”
The hamburger tasted quite authentic, and the sweet scent of the meat juice dripping onto the hot plate made our appetites grow. Both of us finished our meals in no time.
Maybe because we were full, Takamiya returned to her usual self.
“By the way, you’re going to continue working when you get home, right?”
“Yeah, I’d say that, but it’s getting pretty late, so maybe I’ll do it tomorrow instead. I have to go out for dinner with Mika in the evening.”
“You two have dinner together every week, huh?”
“Yep. We’ve been doing this for years. There’s a type of nutrition I can only get from Mika.”
“What’s that supposed to mean? If there’s something like that, I’d like to benefit from it too.”
“…Are you interested in Mika?”
“Huh?”
“It’s no good. Mika is smart, bright, and cute, but if you make a move on her, I won’t forgive you.”
“Uh, no way.”
“Why are you so sure about that?”
“Why? Because…”
“See, you’re all flustered. If you cheat, it’s an instant death penalty, but if it’s with Mika, it won’t be that simple.”
Takamiya shot me a glare from below her lashes with a somewhat gloomy look in her eyes. In the past, that look would have made me feel uncomfortable and scared.
But now, I kind of understand.
It’s because of her father that Takamiya acts like this.
“Do I look like that kind of guy?”
“Well, that’s true, but remember, the meeting with Mika was just for her, so don’t get the wrong idea.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
“Hehe, I’m glad you understand.”
After I replied, Takamiya smiled a little.
It feels like I’m getting used to talking with her. If we spent more time together, would I be able to speak even more naturally? Or would we just fight more?
This kind of relationship will end soon, but what will our relationship be like after we break up?
“Wow, you two are quite the pair, coming all the way here. How cute you are together.”
Just as I was feeling a little sentimental, a high-pitched voice snapped me out of it.
When I turned around, for some reason, I saw Jinguji standing there in a café uniform.
“Wh-what…”
“That’s my line. This is my dad’s shop. I’m helping out today.”
“Oh, I see.”
“You didn’t know? If that’s the case, I guess there’s some kind of fate between us.”
Jinguji grinned at me and then shot a sharp glance at Takamiya across the table.
“Really, you said you weren’t interested in guys, but now that you have a boyfriend, you’re totally into him.”
“That’s none of your business, Maria. Just leave us alone.”
“None of my business, huh? Well, I guess what I’m doing is just venting. But do you think someone as cold as you deserves to date anyone?”
I had no idea what Jinguji was implying with her suggestive tone.
At first, Takamiya had a clueless look on her face, but after thinking for a moment, she seemed to remember something, her expression suddenly changing, and she spoke up.
“…Could it be about Asou?”
“Oh, you’re aware of it, huh?”
“Wait, I explained everything, and Mika understood too.”
“Excuses. But I’m not going to forgive you.”
Jinguji turned her back and said with a sarcastic tone, “Well, enjoy your meal,” before retreating into the back of the store.
“Ugh… so she’s still holding a grudge.”
“What’s this about? Asou?”
“Sorry, I dragged you into my problem with Mika. But can you listen to me?”
“Yeah.”
Takamiya slowly started explaining, speaking calmly.
“Asou is Mika’s childhood friend. I didn’t know him because we went to different middle schools, but I met him when he was with Mika soon after I transferred. And somehow, he said he liked me.”
“…So, she’s mad because you rejected him? That’s some serious misunderstanding.”
“Yeah. We’ve never even hung out or exchanged contacts. And Mika probably liked him too.”
“So, she’s mad that she got her crush taken from her and humiliated. The more I hear, the more ridiculous it sounds.”
“After I rejected Asou, I explained everything to Mika. It was sudden, and I didn’t invite him or anything. I thought she understood, so I thought it was over, but… it seems like it wasn’t.”
Takamiya sighed, looking sad as she continued.
“Even though I acted friendly on the surface, I could never like someone like Mika, who had everything. I felt like she could never understand my problems. Maybe my hostility toward Mika came across to her. She probably thought that rejecting Asou was a way of getting back at her. That’s why I think she’s trying to mess with you and break you two up.”
“I don’t care about what a bitter person like that says without knowing the situation. Besides, she told me herself. If I lose, it’s over. So I just have to win. If I win the election, she won’t have anything to say.”
“…Are you mad that I dragged you into this?”
“It’s too late to worry about that. Also, I’m more pissed off about Jinguji’s selfishness.”
After hearing Takamiya’s story, things started to connect in my mind.
For Jinguji, Takamiya hurt someone important to her, but to Takamiya, Asou’s confession was just one of many from different guys.
The difference in their feelings must have been something Jinguji couldn’t accept.
Of course, now that I knew about Takamiya’s past, I could understand why she hated men.
But from Jinguji’s point of view, she probably saw her as someone high and mighty, someone who didn’t care about other people’s feelings.
This must have been the result of a lot of misunderstandings.
But there’s no point in trying to fix it now.
“Anyway, we shouldn’t linger in a place like this. Let’s go home.”
“Yeah, let’s go.”
And so, our first trip to a neighboring town ended.
The return train was less crowded than when we came, and as we sat side by side, there was no conversation between us.
Takamiya seemed to be deep in thought.
I was also organizing everything that had happened today in my head, and before I knew it, we had arrived at my station.
We quietly went home together.

Mika and Jinguji got mixed up in the middle here.
And 9 months later its still wrong. Makes whats supposed to be an important talk appear like lunatic raving lol
Yup there is some mistake over there
