- I Broke Up With My Girlfriend Who Was Cheating On Me, But She Was So Deeply Sorry That I Couldn't Help But Forgive Her.
- Chapter 2: The Saturday Of Upheaval.
The Saturday Of Upheaval.
Saturday.
I woke up late in the afternoon.
Mom is at work, and my sister is probably engaged in club activities?
I opened the fridge, made something simple, and had a late lunch.
I had no plans today, so I decided to continue reading and studying.
I continued reading, studying, reading, studying every hour or so until the sun began to set.
I wonder if Daichi and Sorahashi are making out right now.
While I was thinking about this, I received a message from Daichi on my phone.
Daichi: How are ya? Are you at home by the way?
Umi: I’m fine. I’m at home, what’s up?
Daichi: Can you come out for a minute? The usual coffee shop in front of the station.
I wonder if something happened there…?
Maybe I should go there for a break.
Umi: Okay, I’ll be there in about 15 minutes.
I prepared to go out and started the moped.
The usual coffee shop, Cafe Dite, was owned by Sorahashi’s older brother, and since he allowed me to leave my moped in the back of the store, it was quite easy for me to go there.
So I parked my moped at the back of the store and entered.
The only customers there were Daichi and Sorahashi.
“Hello.”
Sorahashi Keisuke-san, the owner of the restaurant, was just there, so I decided to say hello to him.
“Hello, Umi-kun. I’m going to close the store soon, so sit back and relax.”
I see. I feel like I’ve been privileged.
At any rate, I headed toward Daichi and Sorahashi.
“Sup! What’s with the sudden call?”
“Umi, why don’t you take a seat…?”
Daichi and Sorahashi both looked gloomy.
I wonder what’s wrong with them.
I took my seat, still thinking about it.
“Hello to you too, Sorahashi. What’s with the mood?”
“Umikita-kun… you know…”
“No, I’ll tell him.”
Daichi was going to tell me something, so I waited for him to continue.
“Let me explain things step by step. Miku and I were on a date at Yokohama earlier today. Then we saw Hanashima walking with a guy I didn’t know. Apparently, Miku doesn’t know him either.”
“…Huh?”
“He may have been a relative or something, but when we followed them, he was holding her hand and he didn’t seem anything like a relative.”
“…”
“After that, we saw them kissing on a park bench and stopped following them. In other words, I saw that Hanashima was cheating on you.”
“…haha.”
Apparently, it appears to be true that when people are taken by surprise too much, all they can do is laugh.
I let out a dry laugh involuntarily.
“I wasn’t sure if I should tell you, but after discussing it with Miku, I decided to tell you after all, and I called you up right away.”
“…How should I say this… I’m sorry… Because of me and Ayaka… We turned your first anniversary date upside down…”
“We are talking about you here! Miku might be a little sensitive about it, but no matter what happens, I’ll be on your side, Umi.”
“Ayaka wasn’t feeling threatened or anything like that?”
“…Well, she seemed to be having fun…”
“I see…”
I wonder how long I have been cheated on?
While I was thinking about what Daichi had told me over and over again, Daichi and Sorahashi were just quietly looking at me, not saying a word.
“…I think we should break up.”
“!?”
Sorahashi was startled.
“I see… I guess so.”
Daichi seemed somewhat convinced.
I told Daichi that I changed my last name in middle school, and I guess I told him the reason.
“I’m having a hard time keeping my mind clear right now, so I’m going home for now.”
“I took some pictures to prove it.”
“Yeah, I’ll use them when we break up… Also, send them to me so that my resolve won’t waver.”
“Have a safe trip home… and don’t get mad ideas, okay?”
“Like because of her cheating on me…? Don’t worry, I’m used to these kinda situations…”
With that, I left the shop.
*
From there, I don’t remember how I got home, but the next thing I knew I was at the front door of my house.
I’m surprised I didn’t have an accident.
“I’m home…”
“Welcome back bro–… What happened? Did you have a fight with Ayaka-san?”
Apparently, I look terrible.
My sister was worried about me from the first moment I opened the door.
Umikita Marin.
My younger sister, with short black hair.
She’s nearly 170 tall, with dignified slanting eyes, and is apparently quite popular with the girls.
“You’re all pale. Come here.”
She took me by the hand and sat me down on the couch.
Mom hadn’t come home yet.
“So, what happened?”
“Ayaka was cheating on me.”
“Huh?!!?”
My younger sister’s face twisted in disgust.
Yes, my sister Marin and I hate cheating more than anything else in the world.
This is because our parents’ divorce was caused by our father’s unfaithfulness.
I still remember the sight of my mother in those days, hurt and exhausted.
“What are you going to do?”
“Once we’ve sorted out our feelings… we’ll break up… I guess.”
“I see. Until you break up with her… and even after you break up with her, don’t let her in the house again.”
“…Sure.”
“Want something to drink?”
My sister was about 30% nicer than usual.
“Coffee, black.”
By the way, I got some pictures from Daichi.
The first one, of them holding hands.
They sure look like they’re having a good time.
But… the second one was unbearable.
I threw my phone away and immediately ran to the bathroom.
“UWAAAaaaaa…!!!”
In the picture, they were kissing…
“Uwaaaaa!!… urgh!!! Urgh!! Aaaahhh!!!”
Tears and vomit came out.
I’m sure I’ve got all the contents of my stomach out, but I can’t stop sobbing.
I don’t know if I’m not drinking enough water, but my head is starting to hurt.
-The first time I held hands with Ayaka after we returned from fireworks.
-The first time we kissed on Ayaka’s birthday.
-On Christmas day, when I saw Ayaka laughing at how beautiful the lights were while we were looking at them together, I thought that she was more beautiful than the rest of us, as if she was another moon.
-The time on Valentine’s Day when Ayaka was so cute that I hugged her for a long time and the chocolate melted a little and she got mad at me.
The girl I love, Ayaka Hanashima.
Has cheated on me.
I couldn’t see through her facade…
When I got out of the bathroom, Marin grabbed my head and hugged me, pressing me against her chest.
I was grateful for Marin’s warmth without saying a word.
I cried a few more tears that I thought I had already let out.
I cried some more.

How are you gonna justify this??
