I became the boyfriend of the school's madonna, who had turned down numerous confessions, but somehow, without realizing it, I wasn't just playing a role anymore - Chapter 156
Episode 156: The Girl Who Doesn’t Want to Leave
After Sasagawa-sensei went upstairs, I decided to wait for Misaki in the living room.
If she took too long, Mom might come home and start poking around with a bunch of questions—but even so, I couldn’t exactly rush Misaki.
For all I knew, she still might not even be dressed.
…Well, at least it’s still warm out, so she probably won’t catch a cold.
Incidentally, by the time I returned to the living room, the gecko was already gone.
Man… what a troublemaker.
If it was going to disappear anyway, it should’ve done so earlier.
That would’ve made everything way simpler.
Then again, it probably only stayed still because people were around, and once we left, it made its escape.
Honestly, better it vanished when it did, rather than hiding at the exact moment Misaki walked in and saw Sasagawa-sensei clinging to me.
That would’ve been far worse.
“…………”
As I sat on the couch waiting, the door cracked open slightly.
Through the small gap, Misaki peeked in, staring right at me.
“What are you doing?”
I called out to her, since she wasn’t coming into the room.
“…Why are you acting like everything’s normal?”
She asked, her voice tinged with frustration.
Yup. She’s an easy girl to read when she’s sulking.
“Because… time’s passed.”
“…That’s not fair. I’m still embarrassed about it…”
Misaki slowly opened the door and came in, her cheeks puffed out slightly.
Her face was still red, which meant she’d probably been stewing in embarrassment this whole time.
“Even if you say that…”
“Hmmph…”
She didn’t say it directly, but clearly she was upset that I hadn’t reacted more strongly after seeing her naked.
Honestly, if it had been any other guy at school in my place, they would’ve been thrilled.
Some of them might’ve even tried to push her down on the spot.
Of course, it’s not like I felt nothing.
I was just trying not to think about it.
Because if I did… there’s no way I’d be able to keep my self-control.
Especially since we were going to sleep in the same bed later.
“I’m gonna hop in the bath. Mom might be home soon, so maybe you should head back to my room?”
Misaki came over to my place almost every day, but since my mom usually got home late, they hadn’t interacted much.
It wouldn’t be fair to leave Misaki alone to deal with her.
Or so I thought—but—
“No… I’m going to be in your care from now on, so I’d like to greet her properly…”
Apparently, Misaki planned to stay in the living room.
She really is a serious girl.
Still, one thing nagged at me—she does remember that she’s only supposed to stay here for summer break… right?
Something about the way she said that made it sound like she was just… living here now.
Knowing Misaki, I wouldn’t be surprised if she tried to stay even after summer ended.
…Yeah, there’s no way her dad would allow that.
“I see. Then just wait here a bit, okay?”
Respecting her decision, I headed toward the bathroom, planning to finish quickly.
But then—
“Ah… should I wash your back…?”
—Misaki, completely forgetting she’d been sulking a moment ago, asked this with an upward glance, shyly twirling her hair around her finger.
