I became the boyfriend of the school's madonna, who had turned down numerous confessions, but somehow, without realizing it, I wasn't just playing a role anymore - Chapter 155
Episode 155: Forceful Measures
“I just… really can’t handle them…”
Sasagawa-sensei pleaded in a trembling voice.
Well, I could understand how she felt…
But still, having an older woman clinging to me like this felt strangely awkward.
It stirred this weird sense of protectiveness—or maybe just made it hard to leave her alone.
Normally, this kind of situation would never happen.
And precisely because it was so unusual, I needed to act fast before Misaki got the wrong idea.
“In that case, let’s hurry back to your room. I’m also a bit worried about Kokoa.”
If she was scared of the gecko, it’d be better to get her back to her room quickly.
Even if Kokoa usually sleeps like a log, there’s always a chance she might wake up.
If that happened and Sasagawa-sensei wasn’t there, she might start crying from anxiety.
So I tried to take her along, but—
“But… the gecko…”
Unlike Misaki, Sasagawa-sensei couldn’t bring herself to pass through the door where the gecko was lurking.
“It’s fine. It’s not going to do anything.”
“It might fall on me when I walk through the doorway…!”
Tears welling in her eyes, Sasagawa-sensei shook her head vigorously.
…These sisters really have way too vivid imaginations.
I mean, I guess if you were really unlucky, it could happen…
“It’ll be fine.”
“……”
She really didn’t want to move—refusing completely.
I thought she was just different from Misaki, but maybe it just came down to the relationship.
Misaki only followed my lead because I’m her boyfriend, but from Sasagawa-sensei’s point of view, I’m not, so she’s hesitant to move.
Still, this wasn’t getting us anywhere—
“Excuse me.”
“Eh—kya!?”
I scooped up the uncooperative Sasagawa-sensei in my arms.
Yup.
The classic princess carry.
“Sh-Shirai-san!? What are you—!?”
“It’s dangerous, so please don’t struggle, okay?”
She was light, but if she started squirming, I wasn’t sure I could keep my balance.
I’d never do something like this under normal circumstances, but if I waited around, Misaki would come back and things would spiral into chaos.
If it was just a matter of getting her into the hallway, it’d only take a second.
And with Misaki still off somewhere flustered, I figured I had time.
“Y-You’re surprisingly forceful, huh…?”
Blushing with embarrassment, Sasagawa-sensei looked up at me.
…You weren’t going to budge unless I did this, so what are you saying?
If I had the luxury of time, I’d never do something this bold—or this mortifying.
It was just a matter of weighing two options: Misaki walking back in and misunderstanding everything, or me taking the forceful route.
“If you’re scared of the gecko, just close your eyes. We’ll be through in no time.”
“…Okay.”
This time, she listened quietly.
Once her eyes were shut, I stepped through the door and into the hallway.
Before Misaki could come out of the changing room and ruin the timing, I quickly set Sasagawa-sensei down.
“Thank you very much…”
“No problem. You should be fine from here, right?”
The gecko was still in the living room, so she should be able to reach the room where Kokoa was sleeping without issue.
“Yes… Sorry for all the trouble…”
“Haha… well, we all help each other out when we’re in a bind.”
Of course, I swallowed down the part where I almost said, “Let’s never do this again.”
If it weren’t for Misaki, I honestly wouldn’t have minded—but considering how possessive and jealous she turned out to be, I couldn’t risk another mess like this.
…Well, I guess it’s just one of those things you can’t avoid when you’re living together.
