First impressions are important when meeting someone new…
In the case of what just happened, Khali had no doubt but to fear the person who is presumed to be with the ten imperial dragons.
‘…he’s strong…physically stronger than that of the strongest member of the imperial dragons. Hmm, But he is a mage, he probably used a skill to strengthen his body.’ thought Khali as he saw the image of what was called a brutal beating towards a devilish looking mage.
“Sorry for the mess, but the bastard was asking for it.” said Shay as he tries to dry his hand off of the blood from the mad mage.
“Don’t worry about it, we just have to move on with the next procedure of the spell since we don’t have a lot of time on our hands.” said Khali.
“Yeah, sure. What do I have to do next?” he asked.
“Right, but before we can begin, just to be sure if you can handle the spell, can I ask who your teacher was or what level of a mage are you?” asked Khali as he wanted a certain success rate within the spell.
“…What?” but to Shay’s ignorance, he was simply looking curious at the laying body of Khali.
“I’m asking if your skilled enough to do the spell, because if not, it might go horribly wrong for both of us.” said Khali nervously.
“Oh…Truth be told, I’m a self-taught man.” said Shay nonchalantly.
“W-what?”
“…I don’t have a teacher.”
“…B-but how were you able to break through the illusionary spell made from the demon count?”
“I broke through it using the Mana Body Reinforcement spell.” as shay explained this, he showed his arm to Khali while it was immersed in his own mana.
“Eh…Mana Body Reinforcement…I see, I see now.” as Khali saw the power in Shay’s hand, he somewhat looked understanding and breathed out a sigh as if he somewhat understood Shay’s standing in the situation.
‘…so he must have been a mercenary gifted with mana.’ thought Khali.
The way he fought the mad mage, the way he uses magic for combat and the way he was with the imperial dragons must mean that he was a hired man. But not once has Khali heard of a mercenary named Shay before, so he feels doubtful.
“Seeing as that you’re a mage of combat, this kind of spell might be complicated for you, but do not worry, I will help you guide your mana into the magic circle to cultivate its equation and perform the necessary requirement for its full function.” said Khali.
“So what do I have to do?” asked Shay.
“Just transfer mana down to the magic circle. Just like how you manipulate you mana to strengthen yourself, simply conjure it towards the circle.”
“Got it.” said Shay as he understood the premises of his job.
As Shay opened his palm down over the magic circle, he concentrated at his job and started releasing mana down unto the magic circle.
‘its weird…its like my stamina is getting sucked up by a goddam leech and my mouth is getting drier each second. I’m getting more and more tired by the second it passes.’ though Shay.
By then, as Shay concentrated in helping Khali, Khali moved on to the next stage of the process on which was to guide the man’s mana correctly within the circle.
“Okay, I’ll-.” said Khali.
But before he could even finish his sentence, his body suddenly froze in shock as the sight of an emerging body raised from the floor.
A headless body that was seemingly more intimidating than ever before. And is stood fully up, within its hand was the emerging power of an already fully charged attack.
“Behind You!” Screamed Khali to Shay.
But it was too late.
One tap to the back was all it took.
the moment the headless mage made contact on the back of Shay’s body, an explosion emerged and like a bomb straight to the back, he was thrown right out of the his place and out of the tower.
*Boom!!*
Crashing through the walls of the tower, Shay was seen unconscious and spitting blood as he fell from the tower.
It left Khali ever so fearful of what was about to happen next.
Slowly and surely, the headless mage was slowly forming back to his original state of body. He’s body slowly regenerated, with the first one being able to form was his mouth.
“Well…it looks like I’m still alive.” said the Mage as one by one, his eye and ear starting reforming together.
“Y-you…how?” to Khali’s bewilderment, he looked to the mage with an anxious face.
“Well, like I said…it’s really quite something. To think that consuming a parasitic heart demon would have given me a form of immortality. Its quite something, isn’t it!?” he asked, maddeningly.
“Parasitic heart Demon!?” asked Khali.
“You don’t know? Oh yes!! of course you don’t know! Being a light mage…being a man who reads in the comforts behind a marble wall…you wouldn’t have any interest in the demons, wouldn’t you!?” asked the Mad Mage mockingly.
“…I have studied demons all my life…one thing I know of their existence is that they are purely made by a demon’s hand. Each creation is always new…new and chaotic. and its because they don’t mind tarnishing the code of playing against life and spirit, their works are always made to be nothing but filth and sin in the eyes of true scholars.” Said Khali as he had a light of pride in his eyes.
“Haaa…you and your pride as a scholar? Well, that doesn’t really mean anything now does it!?” said the mad mage.
“Well, as a pridefull man, and a scholar, I will completely figure out what it is that becomes of you!” said Khali as he remains laying on the floor.
Seeing as how it seems like nothing else matters in the moment, the mad mage simply watched with a smirk on his face as the light mage made stand with his mind as a scholar to figure out the question behind his demonification.
“Hahahahaha! Be my guest!!oh, so great Light mage. ” laughed the mad mage as he stared at the dying body of the light mage.
“Very well…by its name, the parasitic heart demon is nothing more than a parasite! It has nothing to do with you at all…you are simply a vessel, a body used by the parasite as a living puppet. Seeing as how it ate a beating heart before you ‘devoured’ it, you made it have a meal before devouring it to weaken its appetite. After all, Parasites are known to be very vicious and hungry eaters who eats its own vessel if it has to, to survive. I can only assume that if you were not to gain another piece of heart by the hour, it would trigger the parasite to eat your own heart as well. Seeing as how you let it passed through your mouth, must mean that the parasite is now within the passing of your intestines. Its near your heart…near enough that it can easily devour your heart by the second it wants to. Its simply holding you hostage. The black spots on your body is your immune system reacting against the intruder known as the parasite…with it being able to stay black must mean that your immune system wasn’t able to fight off the parasite. With demons being known for being a territorial creature plus its parasitic nature, it easily took over your whole body as its own. now with the activation of the strong regenerative abilities given by the parasite, your body has been fully taken over by the parasite…all that’s left is your heart. With your mind being affected by the regeneration of the parasite, your mind will probably start to lose, which means, you don’t own your sense of choice at all. The parasite does. You don’t have a will to live by.”
“Is that so?” asked the mad mage.
“Yeah…It means that your barely a human and more so a half-demon and a half-parasite.” said Khali.
“Hmm, I might take your words to heart. I didn’t about that at all.” said the mad mage.
“Well, its all just an assumption. If you want my words to be proven, why don’t we test it out.” said Khali as a smile appears on his face.
“Oh? And how do we do that?” asked the mage, losing focus of the idea of killing him as the mage’s intrigue sparks. It was a clear sign of his lost will.
“…Let my assumption on the Parasitic Demon’s placement be proven….now.”
“What’s up with the pause in the end?” asked the mad mage.
But before he could tell what was going on, a sword was lounged straight at his heart and a spear being near his heart.
“…W-what?” to his curiousity, the mad mage turned around and saw two imperial dragons standing behind him with a glaring look.
“…” without nothing else to say, the mad mage fell to the floor bleeding.
And right after, the two imperial dragons approached Khali to assist him.
One being Shirley and the other being Louis.
But before they could reach for Khali in his pale state, he stopped them in their places and spoke order of the situation.
“Do not interrupt me, I’m processing what mana I have left within the circle…give me some time and space, I might be able to successfully recover all of my lost blood and power in time.” said Khali as he then closed his eyes and focused on the spot.
As he made the process of using his skill, a thought came to mind…a thought of thanks to a man.
‘…to think that he was able to supply the magic circle with this much mana…I’m impressed. This is more than enough to have me pull myself back up. He must be quite sensitive in using his mana then if his able to do this much…and his capacity is favorable as well…if he does survive that fall, I hope to meet him again.’
From seconds to minutes…time has passed…and with it, Khali has fully recovered from his blood-lost state.
A spell capable of transferring his blood back into his body is a rare spell indeed, and only he knows of such a spell. Complexity and in need of pure concentration is what it takes to conjure this spell into activation. If not, for the mind of a schilar like his, it would not have worked.
“…Khali, what do we do now?” asked Louis.
“We have to get the princess. She’s our priority right now.” said Khali.
“But how? We have looked all over the castle, she isn’t within any room at all.” said Louis.
“Its because of an illusion magic casted by the demon, its blocking your senses from finding the princess. But since I’m now here, we can move to the next tower, she’s there.” said Khali.
“Okay, but what about the demon?” asked Shirley.
“…with my current strength, I can’t do much damage to it, but if your companion was with me, then both of us might be able to do something about him.”
“Companion?” asked Shirley.
“Yes, Shay Winston, he was here just a minute ago before you two arrived.” said Khali.
“”!?”” to both of their shock, the two looked surprised by this information.
“Where is he?” asked Shirley.
“He…” but Khali couldn’t say anything as he turned to the sight of an open wall of the tower.
“!!” to Shirley’s intuition, she ran to the side of the wall and looked beyond its view to find the sight of a hole that was on top of a roof. A hole big enough that it could fit a man’s physique.
“Hmm, he must have dropped there.” said Louis as he looks to the same hole as Shirley.
“…Why was he here?” asked Shirley shakingly.
“Didn’t you guys brought him along as an extra muscle to the group?” asked Khali.
“No! We made him stay down at the Docks!!” shouted Shirley in concern.
“…he was just assigned to bring us here across the flat bioma.” said Louis.
“W-what? The flat bioma?”
“…”
“Enough of this, we have to move on and go rescue the princess.” said Louis.
“…” having to look at him in the eye, Shirley felt worried to her core about Shay’s condition…but seeing as how she had some priorities, she shook her head and looked to the exit with the expression of wild glare.
“He should be fine…he’s strong enough to crush the demon’s head and break through a wall with his hand. I’m sure he’s safe wherever he lands down there.” said Khali as he tries to assure Shirley.
“Y-you’re right.” having to gain a small sense of confidence from the words of a mage, Shirley was somewhat relieved.
And with it, they continued on their way to the tower to rescue the princess.

Meanwhile…on a dark and cold floor,
The scene of darkness was all that Shay could see as a cold floor was all he felt on his face.
“Hnn~~” having to slowly get up from the floor unconsciously, he turned to face the view of what was in front of him…but all he could see was the dark room. Nothing else.
All that gave light in the room was the hole made from his fall and the light which came from the moon’s light.
“Where the fuck am I?” he asked as he stood on his place…
“Hmm…I smell the scent of a god within you boy…divinity unlike any other.” said a cold and ruining tone.
“…!?” to this voice, Shay was immediately caught surprised by its rough voice.
And all of a sudden, candles began to ignite from all pillars and chandeliers. It lighted up the room so well that Shay was relieved to see light again.
But in a certain side of a wall, one room was forcefully dark and cold…
Like a grave that was present to the eyes of a child, it looked ominous.
“Come here child…let your soul be tempered by the hands of rot and sin.” said the ominous voice.
