Chapter 4: Let’s Make Him Ours and Only Ours Alone

Back on the day of the random stabbing incident, we—two sisters—were caught up in a situation where it wouldn’t have been surprising at all if we had been killed by the stabbers. As the threat to our lives loomed and our past began to flash before our eyes like a revolving lantern, we truly believed that this would be the final day of our lives.

But we were saved. By Ryouya Yagami—a classmate and an ordinary boy. There were plenty of other people around at the time, but the only one who tried to save me and Riona was Yagami-kun. And Yagami-kun protected us, even at the cost of his own life. After seeing that, there was no way we wouldn’t fall for him.

In my life so far, there had been times when someone liked me, but never once had I truly fallen for anyone. So I had never had a boyfriend, nor had I even wanted one… At least, that was how I honestly felt.

But now, I couldn’t help but want Yagami-kun so badly it hurt. I’d always had a stronger-than-average possessive streak, and I wanted to make him mine and mine alone. I didn’t want to let any other person lay so much as a finger on him.

However, there was only one exception to that in the entire world—my twin sister, Riona. The two of us were born from a single fertilized egg that split in two. In other words, Riona and I were originally one and the same, essentially halves of a whole. So what belonged to Riona was also mine, and what was mine naturally belonged to Riona as well.

As identical twins, we also shared remarkably similar tastes. So, just like me, Riona had fallen hard for Yagami-kun too.

“Is the remote monitoring app working okay?”

“It’s running without any issues.”

“Good. That means we can step in early if any pests start hovering around him.”

After leaving Yagami-kun’s hospital room and returning home, Riona and I had that conversation. When we exchanged contact info with him earlier, Riona had secretly installed the app on his phone. The remote monitoring app was originally developed for things like child supervision or theft prevention, letting the user quietly check emails, SMS, LIME messages, web browsing history, and more on the target phone.

We were misusing it to monitor Yagami-kun’s behavior. The app also had a feature that let you hide it from view, which made concealing it easy, but there was one issue. It was that the app constantly ran in the background. That could cause the phone to slow down or the battery to drain rapidly. Still, since Yagami-kun’s phone was pretty old, he might just assume the phone itself was to blame.

“By the way, right now he’s searching ‘the possibility of dating after exchanging contact info with a girl’ on the internet. Looks like he does want to date us.”

“He’s a guy after all.”

Needless to say, both Riona and I fully intended to go out with Yagami-kun. In fact we’d never allow him to go out with any girl besides us.

“Let’s make him ours and only ours alone.”

“Yeah. We’re not giving him to anyone else.”

For now, we’d keep visiting him every day starting tomorrow. First, we’d focus on becoming close with Yagami-kun. Yagami-kun himself didn’t seem entirely opposed to the idea, and if we kept seeing him under the pretense of visiting him in the hospital, we could definitely close the distance between us.
