After that, we spent some time enjoying various attractions before finally having a rather late lunch at the food court.
“Theme parks really are fun no matter how old you get, huh?”
“Time just flies by so quickly.”
“Maybe it’s because we don’t get to come here very often.”
“I can’t believe it’s already past two o’clock.”
Reona had gotten dizzy from spinning the coffee cups too much, and Riona had screamed so much in the haunted house, so much so that she looked so out of character. There had been a lot going on so far, but somehow, we were all having a great time.
“Where should we go after lunch?”
“How about the roller coaster next?”
“I want to go on the roller coaster too.”
Reona, who had paused eating to look at the pamphlet, made that suggestion, and Riona immediately voiced her agreement. I didn’t really have any reason to object, so it was settled—we’d go to the roller coaster after lunch.
“Okay, let’s do that.”
“Then let’s finish up quickly and head over there. I bet the roller coaster line is going to be insane.”
“I happened to glance at the queue for the roller coaster earlier and yeah, the queue was really long.”
Once we finished our food, we headed toward the roller coaster. Just as we had expected, there was a huge line forming. It looked like we’d be stuck waiting for quite a while.
“We’ve got time to kill anyway, so how about we do another psychological test like we did on the Shinkansen yesterday?”
“That was pretty fun, so I’m in.”
“In that case, I know a great app for it.”
“Let’s all download it and try it out together!”
Without delay, we downloaded the app Riona recommended. Apparently, it was a love-related psychological test with one hundred multiple-choice questions, and it was reputed to be surprisingly accurate.
Using our own phones, we each started answering the same set of questions. They ranged from relatively normal ones like “What would you do if the person you had a crush on was in trouble?” to much heavier ones like “If your lover was on the verge of death and you could save them by sacrificing your own life, what would you do?”
“Alright, I’m done.”
“I finished too.”
“I just finished now as well.”
Judging by the fact that we all finished at almost the same time, it seemed we answered at roughly the same pace. After an ad, the results appeared on screen, showing my type along with an explanation.
“It says I’m the tsundere type.”
“Well, yeah. You do have a bit of a tsundere side, Ryouya-kun.”
“Even if Ryouya acts like he doesn’t want to, he always ends up doing it in the end.”
“By the way, what did you two get, Reona, Riona?”
Curious about their results, I asked them that and the two of them glanced down at their own phones. After checking the content, they both spoke up.
“It says I’m the yandere type.”
“Same as Onee-chan. It says I’m the yandere type too.”
I glanced at the explanations on their phones. For Reona, it said that if the person she liked already had a lover, she would resort to confining them and forcing herself on them. As for Riona, it said she wouldn’t be satisfied unless she monitored her partner 24/7, 365 days a year.
“Whoa, those are some seriously intense results.”
“I mean… I probably wouldn’t actually go that far… That’d be a last resort, at least.”
“Keeping watch all the time is a bit much even for me… At most, only while I’m awake.”
Their voices became so quiet toward the end that I couldn’t catch what they were saying, but it probably wasn’t anything important. As we kept solving other questions and getting more into it, the line steadily moved forward until finally, it was our turn.
After boarding, the safety bar slowly came down from above, and following an announcement, the roller coaster began to move. At first, I completely let my guard down, thinking it wouldn’t be all that scary—but I quickly realized I was wrong.
The course started off relatively gentle, but around the midpoint, it suddenly got a lot more intense. I wasn’t usually the type to be scared of thrill rides, but even I found it pretty frightening. As expected, Riona’s face had gone stiff.
“That was insanely fun!”
“Yeah…”
“…Yeah, it was.”
When we got off at the arrival platform, Reona was beaming from ear to ear, while Riona and I were completely exhausted from the roller coaster ride.

Chapter 38: I Didn’t Think Ryouya-kun Would Try Something Like This in a Place Like This
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
“It’s probably about time for our last attraction, considering the time we need to head home.”
“It’s that late already? The day really flew by.”
“Then let’s go to the Ferris wheel, just like we promised.”
We had decided before coming that our final attraction would be the Ferris wheel, so we started making our way to the boarding area. After walking for a while, we arrived in front of the Ferris wheel and saw that a fair number of people were lined up.
“There’s more people than I expected.”
“Yeah, but it’s only about a fifteen-minute wait, so compared to the roller coaster, that’s super fast.”
“Fifteen minutes will go by in no time.”
Since the Ferris wheel had a much better turnaround rate than the roller coaster, the wait time was shorter. Our turn came quickly, and we boarded the gondola following the staff’s instructions. The gondola began to slowly ascend.
“Ryouya-kun, Riona, look! Isn’t that the viking ride we went on first?”
“You’re right. And over there I can see the roller coaster, the coffee cups, and the panda cars.”
“Seeing everything from above gives it a totally different vibe.”
As we looked out the window, all the attractions we’d ridden today came into view one after another, and we got excited all over again. Just then, Reona and Riona, who were sitting across from me, suddenly turned bright red and fell silent.
What the heck did they see?
Curious, I turned around and saw a couple hugging and kissing in the gondola next to ours.
“Oh come on, they’re in full view from here. Don’t they realize we can see them from here?”
“…Ryouya, why are you so calm about this?”
“Yeah, seriously, you’re way too composed about it.”
“I mean, it’s just a kiss…”
Reona and Riona gave me suspicious looks as they questioned me, but in this day and age, where just a smartphone gives you access to intense pictures and videos, most guys—who regularly watched those kinds of videos for relief—would probably react the same way I did.
If that couple had gone beyond kissing and were actually doing it, even I wouldn’t have been able to keep a straight face. But while I was thinking that, the two of them suddenly said something outrageous to me.
“Don’t tell me… Ryouya-kun, you’ve kissed someone before, haven’t you?”
“…Ryouya, is that true? If you lie or try to hide something from us, I’m afraid something terrible will happen….”
“Hey, hey, how did it turn into this?”
“Ah! Maybe it was Ryouya-kun’s childhood friend from his first love…”
“Unforgivable…”
Reona and Riona started blurting things out and suddenly scooted right up to the seat I was on. They leaned in with serious looks on their faces, bringing their faces uncomfortably close—when a strong gust of wind suddenly hit and rocked the gondola violently.
The shock threw off their balance, and both of them tumbled toward me. I reflexively shut my eyes, and in the next moment, I felt a soft sensation on my lips and also down below.
When I opened my eyes, Reona’s face was right in front of mine, and our lips were touching. Riona, on the other hand, had her face buried in my lower half.
The three of us froze like that for a moment, but I quickly came to my senses and pulled them apart in a panic. If anyone had seen us in that position, there was no doubt they’d get the wrong idea.
“…Ryouya, you pervert.”
“I didn’t think Ryouya-kun would try something like this in a place like this. Color me surprised.”
“No, no! If anything, I was the one being attacked here!”
Well, even if I insisted I was the one being attacked, no one would believe me.Since both Reona and Riona were blushing a really deep shade of red, a super awkward atmosphere hung in the air until the gondola reached the bottom.
◇
“That was fun.”
“Yeah… But I’m totally worn out now.”
“I’m exhausted.”
After getting off the Ferris wheel and buying some souvenirs, we left Okayama Milano Park and started our journey back to Tokyo.
Now we were on the Shinkansen, eating station bentos while flipping through the photos we had taken yesterday and today. Outside the window, a sunset spread across the sky, giving the trip home a different charm from when we came.
“Ryouya, are you making any progress on your summer homework?”
“…Actually, not really.”
“Same here, I haven’t touched it at all.”
I had always been the type to procrastinate on summer homework until the very last minute and then suffer through hell, and it looked like Reona was in the same boat. Riona, on the other hand, was probably working through it methodically.
“Ryouya, you and Onee-chan probably won’t do it until the last second, and that’s not good. So until it’s done, I’ll help both of you.”
“Thanks, Riona. That helps a lot.”
“Wait, really?”
“Yeah. I don’t want to see Ryouya and Onee-chan suffer.”
Honestly, Riona’s offer was a massive help. Every year I ended up spending way too much time stuck on problems I didn’t understand, so if Riona was going to teach us, we’d probably finish our homework a lot earlier than expected.
“Alright, starting tomorrow, I’m going to be super strict with you two.”
“Eh? Can we start the day after tomorrow? I’m wiped out from the past two days.”
“Yeah, I wanna rest too.”
“Nope. We’re going to start doing the homework tomorrow.”
Even though Reona and I tried to negotiate, Riona wouldn’t budge. In fact, she said we’d keep at it every day until all the summer homework was finished.
These past two days were a blast, but starting tomorrow… Things are gonna get rough.
