ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
“Ryouya-kun, good job on the test.”
“You did really well.”
On the last day before summer break, after the closing ceremony, Onee-chan and I went out to celebrate with Ryouya at a family restaurant near the school, just as we had promised. Since Ryouya managed to avoid getting a failing grade in any subject, all our efforts to tutor him had paid off.
“Thank you both so much. If I’d been on my own, this test would’ve been a disaster. You seriously saved me.”
“I’m glad we could be of help to you, Ryouya-kun.”
“If Ryouya is happy, then I’m happy too.”
We chatted cheerfully like that as we ate our food. There had been some hiccups right before the finals, but everything had more or less settled down in the end.
Well, those “hiccups” were actually orchestrated by us sisters.
Onee-chan and I both knew from the beginning that if a quiet, unremarkable guy like Ryouya started hanging around us all the time, it would attract the wrong kind of attention. But even knowing that, we still made a point of walking to and from school with him, and talking to him loudly in the classroom so everyone would notice.
As a result, the resentment towards Ryouya kept growing.
By the way, the reason Shirogane-san had put her wallet somewhere unusual that day was because Onee-chan had subtly manipulated her into doing so. She used a bit of psychological steering to get her to unconsciously place it in her hand pouch instead of her backpack.
As a part of the setup, she had also spread a rumor about theft before PE class started. Then, just as we had anticipated, Shirogane-san began making a scene, and Ryouya ended up being falsely accused and publicly humiliated.
So why did Onee-chan and I go to such cruel lengths against Ryouya? It was because we wanted to push him into a crisis and then swoop in to save him—while also getting rid of any potential obstacles.
We already knew Ryouya had feelings for us. But after what happened, those feelings must have grown even stronger and with Onee-chan exerting pressure on our classmates, no one dared to approach Ryouya anymore.
“With this, Ryouya belongs only to me and Onee-chan.”
“…Hm? Did you say something?”
“Nothing, just talking to myself.”
Looks like I accidentally said that last part out loud. As I brushed it off with a vague excuse, Onee-chan brought up a new topic to Ryouya.
“More importantly, what are your plans for summer break starting tomorrow? We’ve got the whole summer to play, so basically we’re free to do anything.”
“Right, you did say every day… You’re not gonna change your mind or anything, are you?”
“Of course not.”
“Yeah. You’ll be spending every day with us, Ryouya.”
I was really looking forward to the long summer vacation ahead. The three of us—me, Onee-chan, and Ryouya. We were going to make a ton of memories together.

Chapter 25: I Believe Ryouya Won’t Betray Us, Right?
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
“It’s morning already…”
Bathed in the light filtering through a gap in the curtains, I slowly woke up and sat up in bed. Since the alarm hadn’t gone off yet, it seemed I’d woken up earlier than expected. As I was thinking that, the door to my room opened.
“Oh, you’re already up.”
“Good morning, Ryouya.”
“…Reona and Riona… You two really come into my room like it’s the most natural thing in the world, huh?”
At this point, I’d long since lost count of how many times these two had barged into my room in the morning. I had grown somewhat used to it. By the way, if I happened to still be asleep, they would slip under the covers without the slightest hesitation, so I had to be on guard all the time.
“Then, shall we head out once you’re ready?”
“Yeah, I can’t wait anymore.”
“Wait, did we have any plans to go out this early today?”
We’d had a little celebration after yesterday’s final exams, but I didn’t remember making any specific plans for today, so I had assumed it would be a free day.
“Just now, Riona said she wanted to do something summery, so we decided to go to the pool.”
“That’s how it is, so get ready.”
“That’s super sudden!”
Apparently, they had decided to go to the pool completely on a whim. I had planned to laze around at home on the first day of summer vacation, but clearly, that wasn’t going to happen.
“By the way, even on the days we didn’t make specific plans like during yesterday’s afterparty, we’re going to slot something in like today. So make sure you keep your schedule open.”
“I believe Ryouya won’t betray us, right?”
“You’ve got to be kidding me…”
They’d said back at the Tokyo Inclusion Square café that we’d hang out every day during summer vacation. I had honestly assumed they were just joking, but maybe they were dead serious.
“By the way, which pool are we going to today?”
“We’re planning to go to Tokyo Aqua Land.”
“We heard it’s big enough to have fun all day long, so we decided on that one.”
Tokyo Aqua Land was a dome-shaped indoor heated pool facility built a few years ago, with a glass exterior. It had water slides, jacuzzis, relaxation pools, saunas, restaurants, and more. It was definitely the kind of place you could enjoy for an entire day.
To think that someone like me, the poster child for introverts, would end up spending a summer vacation like a total extrovert… The past me would’ve never believed it.
“For now, I need to change out of my pajamas, so could you two step out?”
“Oh, it’s fine. Riona and I don’t mind, so go ahead and change right here.”
“I do mind though…”
“It’s not like you will lose anything if Onee-chan and I see you.”
“Well… Maybe not, but still.”
Wait, Riona’s line just now… Isn’t that something a guy usually says?
I tried to get them to leave the room somehow, but it was no use. In the end, I was forced to change while being stared at by Reona and Riona. Needless to say, it was seriously embarrassing.
Afterward, the three of us had breakfast at the dining table. Ever since Reona and Riona started hanging around my house all the time, Mio had begun preparing food for them too, almost like it was second nature.
“You two have blended in so well, it’s like you’re part of the family now.”
“In that case, it feels like Riona and I are the big sisters, and Ryouya-kun and Mio-chan are the younger siblings.”
“Yeah, I can’t really picture Ryouya as the big brother.”
“If Reona and Riona were my big sisters, I’m pretty sure my life would be a nightmare.”
I’d probably be bombarded daily with requests to deliver love letters to them. While we joked about that over breakfast, we eventually headed out together. Before long, we arrived at the station—but Reona and Riona passed right by the entrance.
“Huh? We’re not taking the train?”
“Before that, I want to stop by that shopping center over there to buy swimsuits.”
“My swimsuit from two years ago is too tight now.”
Ah, so that was why we skipped the station entrance. With that, we stepped into the shopping mall near the station.
“Well then, I’ll just kill time around here while you two pick out swimsuits to your heart’s content.”
“Ehh? I want Ryouya-kun’s opinion on which swimsuits suit Riona and me.”
“Yeah, we need Ryouya there. It won’t do if you’re not with us.”
“Wait, hold on. That’s definitely not okay, right!?”
They threw out a ridiculous request so casually that I had to call them out on it. Reona responded with a wicked smile on her face.
“If you won’t help us choose swimsuits, I might accidentally tell everyone about your hidden stash of onaholes and lotion, Ryouya-kun.”
“…You know, I suddenly feel like helping you pick swimsuits.”
“Thanks, Ryouya.”
With my escape route cut off by blackmail, all I could do was nod in resignation. I was then dragged to the women’s swimwear section. Just as expected, I stood out like a sore thumb, being the only guy among all the female customers.
The stares from the women around me, including the staff, were already making me incredibly uncomfortable—and now I had to help choose their swimsuits on top of that? It was borderline torture.
“Ryouya-kun, what color swimsuits do you think would suit Riona and me?”
“Hmm… I’d say red for Reona and blue for Riona.”
“And why’s that?”
“Well, Reona’s always so energetic and cheerful, so red fits her. And Riona’s always cool and calm, so I think blue suits her well.”
When I answered based on my gut, Reona and Riona both looked a little surprised.
“I totally thought you’d say something like ‘anything would look good on us,’ so that was unexpected.”
“Yeah, and you even gave a proper reason.”
“I figured if I didn’t think carefully about it, you two wouldn’t be satisfied with my answer.”
“Hooo… Looks like you’re starting to understand us sisters.”
“If you’d just said something randomly, we were planning to punish you.”
Reona and Riona looked genuinely impressed. Wait, they were seriously planning to punish me if I didn’t take it seriously?
“…By the way, what kind of punishment did you have in mind?”
“It wouldn’t be any fun if we told you.”
“So just wait and look forward to the next opportunity.”
“I’ll be hoping that opportunity never comes.”
I had no idea what the punishment could be, but I was sure it would be a pain no matter what. Anyway, since we had quickly decided on colors, I thought we’d be done soon, but boy I was naive.
Reona and Riona were even more particular about the types and designs of the swimsuits than the colors. Because of that, I ended up stuck with them for a long time, and by the time we finally made it to Tokyo Aqua Land, it was already almost noon.
