Chapter 29 The Hero’s Mother Makes the Impossible Possible / The Demi-Human Girl Goes Straight and Kicks Away
Croix turned his attention to the three people standing behind Alka and let out a soft sigh.
“We don’t have time to be stunned. It’s not just Alka. If you want to keep up with him as he gets stronger, you need to become stronger too. Keep that in mind as you consider your future actions.”
The three nodded anxiously in response to Croix’s words. Their futures would depend on their actions from now on. If any of them lost heart, they were not suited for this journey, and Croix would recommend their reassignment to Ashtar.
Then, Wiel stepped forward.
“There are still quite a lot of them left. As expected, the Four Heavenly Kings have vast numbers of subordinates. Well, let’s clear the view a bit.”
Wiel raised her hand to the sky. A magic circle expanded from her palm, enveloping Wiel in a spherical barrier. Croix was accustomed to this sight, but Mion and the others stared in amazement. They had never seen such magic or magic circles before.
The magician among them exclaimed in surprise.
“Is that… a three-dimensional magic circle?!”
“Oh, you’ve studied well, young lady. Yes, this is a three-dimensional magic circle,” Wiel replied, clearly pleased.
Alka, unfamiliar with the term, asked the magician, “Hey, what’s a three-dimensional magic circle?”
“Magic is activated by deploying a magic circle, a medium that incorporates intricate formulas, symbols, and geometric patterns. It’s the pinnacle of human wisdom,” she explained, projecting a small magic circle onto her palm.
Even at this small size, it was incredibly detailed, almost too fine to discern without focusing intently. Alka had never looked closely at a magic circle before and was surprised by its complexity.
“The three-dimensional magic circle extends the formulas, symbols, and geometric patterns written on a flat magic circle into a spherical shape without disrupting them. This amplification multiplies its power many times over, but the downside is that it’s considered impossible,” explained the magician.
She tried to form a spherical magic circle, but it shattered midway and dispersed into the air.
“It’s said it takes five years to expand a magic circle by just one millimeter. Even the smallest magic circle would require more than a lifetime to create a complete three-dimensional one. A three-dimensional magic circle that covers the entire body is unimaginable.”
Wiel chuckled. “Your perspective is limited. The world is vast. But we don’t have time for this now.”
Wiel directed her hand towards the group of demons, and the three-dimensional magic circle began to spin rapidly. The demons, sensing imminent danger, instinctively tried to flee.
“You won’t escape. Burn in the eternal inferno—Hell Flame.”
The three-dimensional magic circle emitted a jet-black light, and a beam of black flames consumed everything in its path. It incinerated the demons, obliterated the ruins, gouged out the earth, and melted everything within a kilometer.
Alka and the hero party were left speechless.
“That took care of a lot… Well, that should suffice,” Wiel said.
“Thanks, Wiel. Now it’s Mion’s turn,” Croix announced.
“M-My turn?!”
After witnessing Croix’s superhuman combat skills and Wiel’s extraordinary magic, Mion was at a loss for what to do next.
“The ones we defeated were too strong for you, Mion. The remaining ones are weaker or just slightly stronger than you,” Wiel explained.
“But that’s not the point,” Mion stammered.
“Now, Mion, it’s time to show the world your strength,” Croix urged.
Mion felt the pressure. There was no way to run or refuse. She had to steel herself. (Calm down, calm down. Just do what you’ve always done. Remember your training.)
Then she realized.
“Um, the only thing I’ve practiced is focusing my magic into my legs…”
“Yes, that’s right,” Wiel confirmed.
“…How am I supposed to fight with that?”
Mion understood that by controlling her magical power, she could enhance her physical abilities. Thanks to this, her leg strength and overall stamina had greatly increased.
But that was all she knew—she didn’t have any knowledge beyond that.
Wiel, looking puzzled, let out a playful, ringing laugh.
“Just run straight and kick them.”
“Huh…? Run straight and kick…”
Mion didn’t understand what that meant, but she had no choice but to try. She focused her magic on her legs and turned her gaze towards the demon army, who were watching her with weapons in hand.
“Run straight and kick. Run straight and kick. Run straight and kick. Run straight and kick. Run straight and kick. Run straight and kick. Run straight and kick. Run straight and kick. Run straight and kick. Run straight and kick. Run straight and kick. Run straight and kick… Hoo…”
Mumbling as if trying to hypnotize herself, she took slow, deep breaths.
(Ready… Set… Go!)
She charged forward.
In an instant, Mion covered the distance of several meters with a single step. The demons’ eyes widened in shock at her speed.
She aimed a kick at the demons.
Bang──!!
“…Huh…?”
She had aimed a kick at a demon’s face, and that part went well.
However, whether due to excessive power or some other factor, the demon’s head exploded into pieces.
It wasn’t just a matter of kicking or knocking them away.
Literally, the head had exploded.
While the person involved was bewildered, Croix stroked his chin with apparent admiration.
“Well, well. Enhancing the leg strength of a rabbit person with body enhancement magic can increase the power so much.”
“Such destructive power at such a young age. I look forward to seeing what comes next.”
The two of them were still eager to train further.
For Mion, it seemed more than sufficient for now, but there was no time to dwell on it.
To eradicate the remaining demon army, she focused her strength into her legs.
