Chapter 61: Girls-Only Bathing Party SIDE Marsha

“Haaah… The open-air bath is so amazing no matter how many times I take it…”

I, Marsha Hanbulg, was relaxing my exhausted body in the sulfurous open-air bath. Looking up the sky, I saw the entire sky covered with a blanket of stars. I could feel both my body and mind being cleansed. The fatigue accumulated from doing my hobby, alchemy, was slowly leaving my body. This open-air bath was located within an inn run by my younger brother, Ike. He repurposed the lord’s manor into an inn after he became the new lord of the Kaldi region. Apparently the town of Sulfur had a natural hot spring. He received this manor as his reward for defeating a Black Dragon.

Recently, my younger brother had achieved yet another amazing deed. Not only did he defeat two high-ranking members of the Demon Lord Worshipers, but he also saved the Elf Kingdom from destruction. Although he was my own younger brother, but I also couldn’t stop myself from being shocked by him. Of course, I meant that in a good way.

Ike had invited me to the Sulfur Town before the grand opening of his inn. He mentioned that there was a high-quality hot spring in his inn. At first, I didn’t quite understand what was so good about a hot spring, but once I had a taste of it… I was in awe. The hot spring warmed every corner of my body. Every fiber of my body loosening up. My muscles were in bliss. I wanted to bathe like this every single day if I could.

That being said, sulfur was originally an important material for alchemy. Since sulfur could only be obtained in limited places and was difficult to transport, sulfur had a high price on the market. Yet, Ike used sulfur lavishly for these hot springs. If other mages in the royal capital who practiced alchemy like me were to hear about this, they would probably start foaming at the mouth and faint.

“But still, my younger brother is truly amazing. He even prepared a room for me to practice alchemy… Even though he used to be acting as he pleased, nothing but a nuisance… But he’s a changed man now.”

Thanks to him, I was able to make good progress on my alchemy. I almost felt like I should just settle down here permanently. While I was pondering to myself, I heard familiar voices coming from the dressing room. 

“Oh, Marsha-oneesama.”

“Oh my. Good day, Marsha-sama. May we join you?’

The voices belonged to Luna-chan, my younger brother’s fiancée and the saintess, Alisa-sama. I couldn’t believe Ike managed to catch the attention of these two beautiful women. As his big sister, I felt so proud of him. Moreover, ever since he got formally engaged to Luna-chan, he began focusing on losing weight too. The once chubby Ike had slimmed down significantly and showed impressive progress in his magic training. In fact, he had become even better at magic than me. While it was true that Ike was naturally gifted in magic, but I couldn’t dismiss the hard work he had put into the training. This must be the power of love… 

Seeing all the effort Ike put to improve himself made me feel a bit envious of them. I wondered if I would ever find my prince charming, just like Luna-chan. I couldn’t help but to be jealous of the love they both had. But right now, no one could rival my passion in researching magic and alchemy. 

“Of course, by all means. Come on, don’t hesitate! Luna-chan, come on in!”

Luna-chan and Alisa-sama joined me in the open-air bath.

“But still… Marsha-oneesama’s boobs are big, huh?”

Luna-chan said as she glanced at my chest. 

“Come to think of it… I often found Ike-sama looking at my boobs too.”

“Yeah, Ike has always been the boobs guy.”

I said. It wasn’t a secret that Ike was always staring at my boobs in a certain way. The way Luna-chan’s looking at my boobs was different from Ike though. Her gaze was lacking in both. It was closer to jealousy actually. Though… I was more concerned with the lack of light in her eyes. Her eyes seemed a bit distant and umm… Dark. 

“I knew it. Ike-sama really loves big boobs, huh?”

“Yeah. Ike definitely the boobs type, but you see… At the academy I attended, the boys are always looking at mine too. I guess that’s how guys are?”

“However… I once read a book about siblings engaging in an improper relationship, so… It’s not entirely impossible for Marsha-nee and Ike-sama to end up in the same relationship, right…?”

Sure, I thought of him as my adorable little brother, but not in that sense! Absolutely not!

“Of course, everything.”

She answered without any hint of hesitation~ Luna-chan really loved Ike, huh? No,no, not that. That wasn’t the point.

“I get it. You love everything about Ike, but I want you to be more specific. I want to know what part of Ike that made you fall in love with him.”

“More specific, huh… Well, I guess…”

Luna-chan smiled so sweetly before answering.

“I’ve told this to Alisa-sama before, but Ike-sama is the savior of my life. When I was young, I had done something incredibly rude to him but due to the generosity of his heart, he forgave me. Ike-sama often gazes intently at my chest, which I have to add, is quite endearing to see, especially since he’s usually so dignified, but I like to see Ike-sama let loose in front of me. It’s really adorable when he lets his desire show in front of me. Moreover, I love how affectionate he is when we’re alone. He’s so endearing… I know it’s rude of me to be thinking like this, but I really can’t help myself.”

Whoa… I already knew they were in love with each other, but wow… Luna-chan was really head over heels. she really loved Ike… I was happy for him. For them both. 

“I’ve said too much, but… Yes. I’m truly grateful to Ike-sama.”

“Grateful?”

I asked and Luna-chan smiled happily again before she answered me.

“yes. Back when I was shunned by everyone around me because of my title as a cursed child, the only one who accepted me was Ike-sama. If Ike-sama hadn’t taken me in, I wouldn’t be who I am today. In fact, I might have died a miserable death in the ditch somewhere.”

“I’m truly sorry you have to experience that…”

Alisa sincerely apologized.

“Oh, I’m not blaming you, Alisa-sama. I know that you’ve helped clear up many misunderstandings revolving around me. Thanks to you, I’m able to stand beside Ike-sama. I’m truly happy now.”

“Good grief. Ike is really lucky to have you as his wife, Luna-chan.”

I said so again. Professing one-sided love might not be easy, but not impossible. However, there weren’t many people who could express their gratitude genuinely. If I were in Luna-chan’s position, I would’ve been filled with grudge and resentment toward the world. My heart, my essence, would’ve been broken. 

“Of course, I’m also grateful to you, Marsha-oneesama,for accepting me.”

“Good grief! Luna-chan, you’re so adorable!! How about if you marry me instead?!”

“Kyaaa!! Marsha-neesama!?”

I hugged Luna-chan tightly. Good grief, she was really adorable! She was almost too good for Ike! Her skin was so smooth too! A perfect cuddle buddy! If Ike ever made this wonderful girl cry… I would never forgive him!

“Oh, which reminds me… Marsha-san, I have a favor to ask.”

Alisa-sama clapped her hands suddenly and looked at me.

“A favor..? Go on, I’m listening.”

A direct favor from the saintess herself. Even though we were soaking in the bath, I felt a bit tense about what kind of favor she would be asking from me. Although I didn’t stand out as much as Ike, but I was still the daughter of the Hanbulg ducal family. Failure was not an option for the members of the Hanbulg family. What could she possibly want from me instead of Ike?

However, contrary to my inner struggle, the content of her favor turned out to be quite.. Anticlimactic if I had to say.

May I call you Marsha-oneesama too from now on?”

“No, as much as I appreciate the sentiment, I can’t possibly have the Saintess call me ‘onee-sama’…”

“How cruel… It’s okay for Luna-sama, but not me? I’m the only one being left out…”

The Sa-Sa-Sa-Saintess pretended to cry.

“I-I’ll think about it.”

“Really? I look forward to hearing your favorable answer.”

Alisa-sama said with a smile. I felt like my escape route had just been blocked. 

“You see, I’m grateful to Ike-sama too, you know? Thanks to him, we managed to put many things in order. Honestly speaking, I’m envious of Luna-sama.”

“….I won’t ever give him up, you know?”

Luna-chan said, exerting a bit of pressure on Alisa-sama.

“Oh, no, no, that’s never my intention. I’ve dedicated my whole life and body to God and besides, as a woman of God, I couldn’t possibly steal someone’s love. Especially Ike-sama and Luna-sama. “Well~ That’s right. Ike is very devoted to Luna-chan indeed.”

Just like what Alisa-sama pointed out, Ike’s behavior bordered on obsessiveness. That being said, Luna-chan tended to be trigger happy with anything related to Ike. The two of them were quite similar in a way.

“But for me, the most important thing is the world’s peace. That’s all that matters, really. When the time comes where Ike-sama and Luna-sama can live happily without any worries, I believe that’s the time when the people of this kingdom can also live happily. In a sense, Ike-sama and Luna-sama are symbols of peace to me.”

“Symbols of peace..?”

“That’s right. Symbols of peace. I’m going to use everything in my power to ensure Ike-sama and Luna-sama can truly become the symbols of peace for the people.”

Alisa-sama said with determination glinting in her eyes. Contrary to her, Luna-chan looked a bit troubled by Alisa-sama’s words.

I see… I need to do my best too.

I thought to myself while listening to their conversation. Both Luna-chan and Alisa-sama had clear goals in mind. On the other hand, I didn’t have any clear goal in mind. I didn’t know what I wanted to become in the future. I didn’t have any vision. Hence why, I genuinely thought the two of them were amazing since they had something I didn’t have. 

“While I’m having so much fun talking with you two, but I think it’s about time for me to get out.”

“Oh, that’s right. I will get out too.”

“Fufufu~ In that case, how about if we continue our conversation elsewhere? It’s not often we get an opportunity like this.”

Alisa-sama suggested.

“You’re right. Since we’re already here, let’s do it. Luna-chan, what do you think?”

“Indeed… I will go ask Ike-sama first.”

“Oh? In that case, I will come along too. I’m sure he won’t refuse if I’m with you.”

I said while smirking. Surely this expression of mine was similar to Ike’s smile. 

And so, the three of us enjoyed each other’s company for the whole night.
