Chapter 15: The Hero of [Resurrection] Holds a Strategy Meeting
“Alright, from this moment on—we’re starting our strategy meeting!”
““““Ooooh!!””””
The heroes responded in a sloppy, half-hearted chorus.
“First of all, thanks to Silesta, we managed to drive off the Ixion Kingdom’s army. Everyone, give her a round of applause!!”
““““Yaaay (clap clap)””””
“Now then, let’s move on to the main agenda. We have two topics today: revising our defense plan and establishing an attack plan.”
Both were crucial if we wanted to hold our ground against the Ixion Kingdom.
We began with the defense plan.
“As you all know, the Ixion Kingdom has been using knowledge from Shizukuishi’s world to mass-produce ridiculously powerful weapons.”
“You mean those guns and tanks, right?”
“Imuru, please raise your hand before speaking.”
“Muh! My apologies!!”
After properly raising her hand this time, Imuru continued with confidence.
“I, together with Raishis and a few others, analyzed the performance of the captured guns!!”
“Don’t act like you were leading the entire investigation when you barely did anything.”
“Nuhaaha!! In fact, I even tried peeking at their blueprints with my ability—but I failed spectacularly!! No idea why!! Maybe they didn’t bother writing them in books… or maybe they’re storing the records on something other than paper!!”
“Excuse me, I’ll cut in here. I’m Raishis, the Hero of [Analysis]. These are the guns the Ixion grunts used when they attacked that beastman settlement. And these are the ones they brought out during the most recent raid. For convenience, let’s call them the old model and the new model.”
Raishis held up two different guns.
At first glance, they looked nearly identical—but according to him, there were some major differences.
The heroes leaned in closer, listening carefully.
“Let’s start with how guns actually work. According to Shizukuishi, guns are weapons that use something called ‘gunpowder’ to fire little metal balls. But in this world, gunpowder doesn’t even exist. The materials needed to make it simply aren’t found here.”
“Uh, excuse me, may I ask a question? If there’s no gunpowder, then how are the bullets being fired?”
“A very reasonable question, Lady Tiara. The answer is simple: dwarven magic engineering.”
“Dwarves…”
Everyone knew dwarves were a race renowned for their advanced metalwork, precision craftsmanship, and mastery of magical tool-making.
“When we dismantled the guns, we found traces of explosive magic. In the old model, the magic was built directly into the gun itself. In the new model, however, it’s been embedded into the bullets. This refinement means you don’t have to clean out the barrel after every shot.”
“On top of that, the new version uses a magazine to load the bullets, making rapid fire possible. The overall structure is also simpler, which makes it sturdier and less prone to breaking!”
“And then there’s rifling—the spiral grooves carved inside the barrel. That’s what really improves the power and accuracy. We actually test-fired both versions at Silesta, Rocoro, and a few other combat-oriented heroes. The bullets didn’t have enough force to pierce their bodies. At worst, they left behind an ugly red welt. In a bad spot, though, it could knock someone unconscious.”
“In other words, for weak trash-tier heroes like me, no matter where I get hit, I’ll die instantly!!”
…So even top-tier heroes could be taken out with bad luck, huh.
Yeah. If one of those bullets hit me, I’d probably be finished.
“No need to explain much about cannons. They work the same way as guns—just bigger. Which means more firepower. If you take a direct hit, you’re done for.”
“The real problem is when they mount those cannons onto tanks.”
“Exactly. Tanks aren’t very fast, but their heavy armor makes them incredibly tough. Since Silesta went and blew up every enemy tank we encountered, we couldn’t study them in detail… but if the Ixion Kingdom starts mass-producing them, that’ll be a serious threat.”
I pictured it in my head.
That one lucky shot from a tank had nearly killed Silesta in an instant.
If they had a whole squad of those rolling across the battlefield, yeah—it’d be a nightmare.
And with the Ixion Kingdom’s resources, mass-production wouldn’t even be difficult.
“That said, fighting tanks isn’t as hopeless as it sounds. That one hit on Silesta was just luck—it won’t land often. And our attacks are more than capable of damaging them. The real danger is if they develop weapons that we can’t even reach.”
“You mean fighter planes.”
A fighter plane—an aircraft soaring through the sky, armed with guns and weapons to rain down destruction from above.
An attack from the air wouldn’t just be troublesome—it would be catastrophic.
If the Ixion Kingdom managed to complete their development, we’d be sitting ducks, bombarded endlessly from the skies.
“As things stand, the only ones who can handle aerial enemies are the Hero of [Wings] and the Hero of [Dragon]. Even if the tower is durable, we’ll still need countermeasures. The same goes for when we’re on the offensive.”
With that, Raishis concluded his explanation.
Then, after quietly listening the whole time, Shizukuishi timidly raised her hand.
“U-Um, yes, I agree that fighter planes would be a huge threat, but… they’d need far more advanced engines—basically power sources way stronger than what tanks use. I don’t think they can build something like that, so maybe we don’t need to worry too much…”
“But since dwarven tech is already being used in guns, it’s safe to assume they’re involved in making other weapons too. And if it’s dwarves, they just might pull it off.”
“Imuru-san’s right. Besides, it’s always better to prepare for the worst.”
That said—
““““We have absolutely no idea what kind of countermeasures to even take!!””””
“Then what’s the point of this meeting!?”
Shizukuishi instantly roasted us for voicing what we were all honestly thinking.
But really—what could we do?
Humans had no effective way to deal with enemies in the sky.
Heroes were no exception. Even if we wanted to make a plan, we had nothing.
“No worries! If fighter planes really do show up, I’ll crush them all!!”
The one puffing out her chest and making that bold claim was Dran, the Hero of [Dragon]—still just a young girl.
It felt wrong to rely on her alone, but for now, she was our only option.
With that, we moved on to the next topic.
“As for the attack plan, I think we should go with a full-force blitz using every combat-ready hero we’ve got. If we wipe them out quickly, fighter planes or whatever else won’t even matter.”
“…Mister, are you secretly just a meathead?”
“W-Who are you calling a meathead!? That was supposed to be a serious, well-thought-out plan!!”
“U-Um! E-Excuse me, may I share my opinion?”
Tiara raised her hand.
“I-I think the capital’s defenses will definitely be tight, so it’d be better if we properly build up our forces before attacking!!”
“…Hmm. True, there’s also the chance the Ixion Kingdom has already developed stronger weapons. Being cautious isn’t a bad idea.”
“I object, I do!! The more time we give those bastards, the more horrifying weapons they’ll cook up for sure!! …Well, not that I can fight myself, so I’ll just leave it to everyone else!!”
Both arguments had weight to them.
Which was why, when we put it to a vote, the results split perfectly down the middle.
“Mister, I’ve got an idea too.”
“What is it, Silesta?”
“Whether it’s us or the Ixion Kingdom, both sides get stronger as time passes. So honestly, it doesn’t really matter if we attack now or later.”
“…Go on.”
“That’s why we should send out spies and gather intel first. Just knowing in advance what kind of weapons they’re making will give us the advantage. And who knows—maybe we could even steal a few and use them ourselves.”
“Ooohh…” The heroes buzzed with excitement at her suggestion.
“…That does make a lot of sense. The issue is, who do we actually send? It’s dangerous, so I’d prefer to entrust it to someone strong, but…”
“There is someone perfect for the job. The person Mister just resurrected yesterday.”
“Eh? Ah—whaaat!? You mean that person, as a spy!?”
I couldn’t bring myself to nod at Silesta’s proposal.
Because the person she was talking about… was by far the most dangerous individual we had revived to date.
“Letting her loose is a bit…”
“But mister, maybe that person alone could actually bring down the Ixion Kingdom.”
“Well… that might be true, but…”
“If we just leave everything to her, there won’t be any problem. Only she can save this world.”
“…Huh?”
“So let’s entrust it all to her, mister. Then the world will be filled with love and peace and—”
Something was clearly wrong with Silesta.
In the very next moment, Rocoro—the Hero of [Slaughter]—swiped his hand, and Silesta’s head went flying. Just like that.
Silesta collapsed dead on the spot.
The heroes who saw it screamed, and Shizukuishi, struck by the sudden spray of blood, dropped to the floor in shock.
“E-Elott-san!! Th-that guy just killed Silesta-san out of nowhere!!”
“It’s okay, Shizukuishi. Thank you, Rocoro.”
“If anything, I was late to notice. Anyway, would you mind resurrecting Silesta for us?”
I brought Silesta back.
The moment she revived, she realized what had happened and clutched her head.
“Damn it… of all people, I had to be saved by Rocoro…”
“Glad to see you’re back to normal.”
“Next time, I won’t be taken down so easily.”
“That’s actually a problem. If she gets to you again, I’ll have to kill you to stop it.”
“…I won’t.”
Sparks practically flew between Silesta and Rocoro as they glared at each other, though Rocoro only offered a troubled smile.
Meanwhile, the one in full-blown panic was none other than Shizukuishi.
“W-What’s going on? Why did Rocoro-san suddenly cut down Silesta-san!?”
“…Because Silesta was under the influence of that person we were just talking about—the Hero of [Love].”
“Ah, the Hero of [Love]? That sounds so nice and wholesome though.”
“Quite the opposite, actually. Her ‘love’ spreads her ideology like a virus.”
“S-Spreading ideology…?”
“How should I put it… If you so much as agree with even a fragment of her words, your mind gets corrupted on the spot. And then you end up spreading that corruption to others too. The only time Silesta ever spoke with her was right after she was resurrected, and even that brief exchange was enough to leave a mark. That should tell you how dangerous she is.”
“…That’s terrifying.”
Honestly, I found it terrifying too.
“If we unleash her on the Ixion Kingdom, she won’t just gather intel—she’ll cause enormous damage. But it’s the aftermath that really scares me…”
“But mister, if we keep her here, then all the heroes around us will eventually get infected by her ideas.”
“…You’re right. In that case, let’s release her into the Ixion Kingdom!!”
And with that, I immediately made my way toward the Hero of [Love].
She was waiting at the very bottom of the abyss, inside a small building off to the side.
“Excuse me.”
“Oh my, Lord Elott. What a pleasure to see you.”
“I actually have a favor to ask of you, Lady Ayla.”
“Ufufu, no need to be so formal.”
Greeting me was a breathtaking woman with a bright, gentle smile.
Her violet hair framed a tall, voluptuous figure—full chest, slim waist, shapely hips, and thick, alluring thighs.
The dress Meimei had made for her hugged her form perfectly.
“—So, I’ll be the spy? Of course. If you’ll have me, I’d be delighted to help.”
“Thank you. …But just to be clear, this is strictly a spy mission. Please focus only on gathering information, alright?”
“Ufufu, yes, yes!! Don’t worry. With my love, I shall save the lost souls!!”
“…Were you even listening?”
“Yes! Love!! Love is what saves the world!! I am the missionary of love!! With my love, I will guide the sinful people of Ixion!!”
…Yeah, this was going to be nothing but trouble.
Sure, if we sent her into the Ixion Kingdom, she wouldn’t just gather intel—she’d spread her ideology like wildfire and plunge the nation into chaos.
…But if no one was there to rein her in, the aftermath could be catastrophic.
If she ended up triggering a worldwide “love infection” after the Ixion Kingdom fell, we’d be completely screwed.
Well, at least if Ayla died, the infection would stop.
The real issue was finding someone who could stay close enough to kill her instantly if things went wrong…
Without falling victim to her influence themselves.
Yeah. That part was the real problem.
“In that case, I shall accompany her.”
“Ah, Zona.”
“I am the servant of the goddess and the loyal vassal of the great King Elott. Rest assured, I am immune to the influence of this ideological-pandemic woman.”
“Really!? Then I’ll leave it to you!!”
Thanks to this unexpected volunteer, things somehow worked out.
The very next day, Ayla and Zona set off together on their journey toward the Ixion Kingdom.

[Afterword]
Quick Mob Hero Spotlight
The Hero of [Love], Ayla
She possesses the terrifying power to brainwash anyone who so much as shows the slightest sympathy toward her ideals. Age, gender, race, strength—it makes no difference. The effect targets everyone, with the only exceptions being higher beings like angels or the goddess herself.
The worst part? She wields this ability almost unconsciously, and those under her influence don’t even realize they’ve been infected. Combined with her earnest preaching about “love,” she’s an absolute menace.
Her breasts are also absurdly huge, to the point where Meimei once asked, “How’d you even get them that big?”
Her answer: “Because my heart is filled with love.”
