Exiled to the Graveyard of Heroes, I Revived Them All and Now an Unprecedented Nation of Legends Has Been Born - Chapter 11; Interlude
Interlude: The Isekai Girl and the Ex-Hero Party’s Saint
The clock turned back a little.
It was about three months after the Ixion Kingdom had used an ancient ritual to summon people from another world.
One of those summoned, the girl Yukari Shizukuishi, was holding her head in frustration.
“Haa… everyone’s completely lost it…”
“What’s up, Shizucchi? Why the gloomy face?”
The one calling out to her was a stunning beauty with long, glossy black hair. Her ears glittered with heavy piercings, and she radiated a bold, flashy gal vibe.
Her name was Yukino Takanashi.
Her blouse looked like it could burst at any moment from her massive chest, and paired with her knockout figure, she hardly looked the part—but she was the same age as Shizukuishi, a seventeen-year-old high schooler.
And then there was one more.
“If you’re in trouble, Yukari-chan, you can count on me!!”
This girl’s name was Akane Otogiri.
She had fluffy chestnut hair and gave off a ditzy, absentminded aura, but her curves—especially her chest—were every bit as impressive as Takanashi’s. She was shorter, though.
Both of them had been summoned to this world alongside Shizukuishi.
“Trouble, huh? Oh, I’ve got trouble all right. And that trouble is you two!!”
Slamming her palm on the table, Shizukuishi jabbed her finger accusingly at Takanashi and Otogiri.
Both girls jolted in surprise, their bodies stiffening.
“Eh? Us?”
“Eh? Eh? D-Did I do something to upset you, Yukari-chan!?”
“…First of all—when I said I wanted to talk just between the four of us, why the hell did you bring butlers!?”
Sure enough, both Takanashi and Otogiri had a few handsome young butlers standing at their side.
Of course, they were nothing more than Ixion Kingdom’s watchdogs.
“My apologies, Lady Shizukuishi. It is our duty to look after all summoned guests from another world.”
“Tch…”
One of Takanashi’s butlers spoke with a polished smile that reeked of insincerity.
Shizukuishi’s gut immediately screamed not to trust him.
No—that wasn’t new. Ever since arriving in this world, she hadn’t been able to trust a single person.
There was no logical reason. Just instinct.
But ever since she was a child, her instincts had always been unusually sharp—far sharper than most.
And if she followed that instinct, then the Ixion Kingdom was shady as hell.
The kind of people you absolutely could not trust.
Just then—
“Whoops, my bad!! Shizukuishi-san, I’m late!!”
“Y-Yamada-kun…”
Bursting into the hall, another boy entered—Yamada.
And of course, just like the others, he had a beautiful maid clinging to his side.
The problem was the number.
Takanashi and Otogiri had only brought one butler each.
But Yamada? He showed up with seven maids trailing after him like a full-blown harem entourage.
“I specifically said I wanted to talk with just the four of us.”
“Eh? Really? Oh, my bad, totally slipped my mind.”
“…Forget it.”
Shizukuishi stormed out of the room and marched down the hallway.
The corridor stretched on and on, even longer than her school’s hallways back home, and she sighed in irritation as her thoughts churned.
(They’ve all been completely duped. Especially Yamada!!)
Because Shizukuishi knew.
She knew that every night, Yamada was being seduced by those beautiful maids—sleeping with them, completely caught in their trap.
He’d never experienced a harem back in their world, so now he was basking in it, bragging and spilling information without restraint.
(I’ve got to snap them out of it—and we need to escape this country immediately!!)
Otherwise, it would be too late.
Her instincts screamed it.
As Shizukuishi racked her brain over how to convince the others, something caught her ear.
(…Voices? That voice—could it be the princess?)
She followed the sound of Melia, princess of the Ixion Kingdom.
It led her straight to Melia’s private chambers.
The door was slightly ajar, and from inside, Melia’s voice carried—speaking with someone.
“Fufufu, guns really are wonderful things, aren’t they? If only we could also build ‘fighter planes’ and ‘tanks,’ then there’d be nothing left to complain about.”
“Still struggling with development, huh?”
“Yes. The engine part seems too complex, so progress is slow. But if we leave it to the dwarven craftsmen, they should finish in a few months. It won’t be exactly like what Yamada described—more like a version heavily infused with magic technology.”
“Kukuku… you’re a cruel woman. Attacking the dwarven villages, taking their women and children hostage, then forcing them to build weapons for you.”
“Glenn, you were the one who proposed the idea, were you not?”
Melia and Glenn laughed together as if it were casual banter.
Hearing their grotesque conversation, a chill ran down Shizukuishi’s spine.
(I knew it… That princess is exploiting Yamada’s knowledge for her own gain!! I have to stop her… But how?)
Yamada, of course, was already beyond saving—
But even Takanashi and Otogiri, who were supposed to be her friends, seemed content with the pampered treatment they were getting in the Ixion Kingdom.
Even if she exposed the Kingdom’s dark secrets, what good would it do?
Melia was the second most powerful figure in the country—if Shizukuishi made one wrong move, she had no idea what might happen to her.
It was entirely possible she’d be quietly erased before anyone even noticed.
Which meant she couldn’t just blurt out the truth.
As Shizukuishi agonized over what to do next—
“Hmm?”
(Crap!! Did he notice my gaze!?)
Glenn noticed the door was cracked open and started walking straight toward Shizukuishi.
She panicked and tried to run, but her feet tangled, nearly sending her crashing to the floor.
The door creaked wider, and Glenn was just about to spot her—when suddenly, a voice whispered from behind.
“Stay quiet. Don’t make a sound.”
“Eh?”
It was a girl’s voice she had never heard before. As the girl murmured a spell, Shizukuishi’s body was enveloped in a warm glow.
At that exact moment, the door swung open and Glenn stepped out.
But he didn’t even glance in Shizukuishi’s direction. Instead, he addressed the one standing nearby.
“What are you doing out here, Nia?”
“…That’s none of your business.”
“Kukuku, still as cold as ever.”
“Why don’t you go back inside and screw your precious princess already?”
“Yeah, yeah. I’ll do just that.”
Glenn shrugged and slipped back into the room.
Moments later, the princess’s moans began leaking out from inside.
Meanwhile, Nia turned to Shizukuishi.
“Can you stand?”
“Y-Yes.”
“…Good. I’m glad my miracle of ‘Concealment’ activated in time.”
The only reason Glenn hadn’t spotted Shizukuishi was because of the magic Nia had cast—something called Concealment.
It was a simple spell that merely rendered the target invisible.
But its very simplicity made it almost impossible to pierce.
Of course, Shizukuishi, who knew nothing about magic, had no idea what had just happened.
Even so, she understood one thing clearly—Nia had saved her.
And so, she bowed her head.
“T-Thank you.”
“…There’s no need for thanks. For now, let’s get out of here.”
Shizukuishi followed Nia, and together they slipped away, eventually reaching the castle courtyard.
“Um… you are…?”
“My name is Nia. I was once… the saint of a hero’s party.”
“H-Hero’s party? That suddenly sounds way too much like a video game.”
“I do not know what this ‘video game’ is you speak of. But Lady Shizukuishi, let me be blunt.”
“Eh? Ah—yes?”
“You need to escape. Immediately. The Kingdom is planning to erase you.”
“!?”
Shizukuishi’s shoulders jolted.
She had considered that possibility before, but hearing someone else say it aloud made it terrifyingly real.
“B-But… even if I run, then what? I don’t know this world. How am I supposed to survive all alone…?”
“…Head east.”
“Eh? East?”
“Just keep walking east, and eventually you’ll reach a beastman settlement. Tell them your name and—khh, gghhk—”
Nia suddenly broke into a violent cough, spewing a mouthful of blood.
“H-Hey, Nia-san!? Are you okay!?”
“…Don’t worry. It’s the price for using the Goddess’s Eye of Foresight… in the body of someone who isn’t even a hero. Even paying that price, the visions I see aren’t complete.”
“F-Foresight? Price?”
Shizukuishi froze, rattled by the ominous words that had just been dropped on her.
But Nia carried on unfazed.
“Here, take this.”
“This is… a bag?”
“A magic bag I used back when I fought with the hero’s party. It can store a great many things. I’ve packed it with a map, food, water, and a bit of money. Use it.”
“W-Wait. What about you? If they find out you helped me escape—”
“They might erase me. But… if I die, then my penance ends. And I don’t intend to let it end just yet.”
After saying that, Nia suddenly laughed—low and unsettling.
“How many times has it been now, wishing I could just rip out my own tongue to stop speaking of penance? Ah, Lord Elott… I’m sorry. Yes, I know. The sins I committed will never be forgiven by something so small. Rest assured, I’ll end everything myself. When it’s all over, I’ll cut off my fingers, tear off my arms, slice off my legs, and beg forgiveness at the bottom of hell. Ah, no… even that won’t be enough. Don’t worry, I’ll suffer more, far more, before I finally die. I’ll do my best to writhe in agony, so please… watch me from heaven—”
“Uh… Nia-san?”
“…My apologies. Forget what I just said.”
After that, with Nia’s guidance, Shizukuishi somehow managed to slip out of the royal castle.
Before parting ways, Nia called out to her.
“Lady Shizukuishi.”
“Yes?”
“Please… stay safe.”
“…Thank you, Nia-san. Since I came to this world, you’re the only one who hasn’t given me a bad feeling!!”
With that brief exchange, Shizukuishi escaped the Ixion Kingdom and, just as Nia had told her, made her way toward the beastman settlement.
