Dungeon And Slave: The Lustful and Violent Slave Harem of the Guard and Students Chosen as Testers for the Succubus Dungeon - Chapter 32: Domain Guardian
Chapter 32: Domain Guardian
“Over half, huh?”
In front of the room where I assume the 5th floor guardian waits, after a little over two hours of recovering my mana.
Feeling my internal mana surpass half capacity, I stand up from the rock wall I was leaning against.
That’s about 13 uses of Physical Enhancement.
Or 26 shots of Wind Cutter.
If there are multiple enemies, I’d like to use Fireball as a feint like in the 4th floor guardian fight and pick them off one by one, but we’ll see.
A bit excited about what kind of enemy awaits, I reach for the wooden door.
With just a light push, the three-meter-tall door swings open inward on its own.
What I see isn’t the usual small room surrounded by rough rock walls, but a chamber enclosed by smooth stone walls.
It’s about 30 meters square, I’d guess? The stone ceiling emits a faint light, and the floor is neatly paved with flat stones.
I shift my gaze to the back of the room, where a Kobold in leather armor sits on a stone chair, flanked by two familiar Kobold Leaders.
Behind the chair, I can see a black gate.
“Hm, so it’s a Kobold King and two Kobold Leaders, huh?”
I call it a King for a reason. It’s sitting arrogantly on the chair, and it’s wearing what looks like an animal skull on its head.
I could call it a chieftain, but the stone room and chair give off a kingly vibe, so I went with that.
Kobold King sounds cooler than Kobold Chieftain, anyway.
The Kobold King is leaning on the chair’s armrest, looking at me with boredom.
In contrast, the Kobold Leaders, likely its lieutenants, are hunched and radiating readiness to pounce at any moment.
“Two E-ranks and one estimated E+, got it.”
The small number is a relief. A solo fighter’s weakness is being overwhelmed by numbers.
I drop my backpack and activate Physical Enhancement.
At that moment, the two Kobold Leaders leap forward.
The Kobold King shows no sign of moving.
“Hah! Feeling cocky, huh?”
If all three aren’t coming at once, this is no big deal.
The two Kobold Leaders charge at me from both sides, and I target the one on the right, firing off spells in rapid succession.
Fireball Wind Cutter Wind Cutter
The Kobold Leader leaps sideways to dodge the incoming Fireball.
“Gyan!”
But anticipating it would dodge left or right, my Wind Cutter hits its shoulder, slicing deeply.
Confirming the hit slowed it down, I turn to the Kobold Leader closing in from the left and smash its claw with my small shield like a punch.
“Ora!”
The Kobold Leader, struck by my full-strength Physical Enhancement-powered shield, has its arm knocked back and its body reels backward.
“Die!”
Seizing the opening, I slash my machete from its shoulder to its abdomen.
Turning around, I see the other Kobold Leader charging at me, one arm dangling uselessly.
I consider casting a spell but figure it’d dodge, so I ready my small shield to meet it.
The slashed shoulder must hurt. The Kobold Leader grimaces as it swings its remaining arm, but my shield blocks it. It steps forward, trying to bite me with a body slam.
“With only one arm, that’s all you’ve got, huh?”
I’d read its move. Dropping my machete, I swiftly draw the knife from my waist and thrust it into the mouth lunging to bite me.
“Gah…”
The knife pierces through its mouth and out the back of its head, stopping the Kobold Leader’s movements. It collapses.
I shake the blood off the knife, sheath it at my waist, and pick up my machete.
Then I turn to the Kobold King, who never stood, thrusting out my shield arm and curling my index finger toward me.
“How long you gonna act like a big shot, mutt? Come on, I’ll tame you. Let’s see you beg—heel, boy, heel!”
Smirking as I taunt it, the Kobold King stands.
It’s at least 30 cm taller than a regular Kobold, probably around 150 cm.
Its body is powerfully built, exuding far more strength than a Kobold Leader or Soldier.
The Kobold King grabs a massive cleaver leaning against the chair and lets out a roar.
“Waoooon!”
It charges straight at me with speed faster than any Kobold I’ve faced.
“Good, good! You’ve got heeling down. Next, spin three times and bark!”
Fireball Fireball Fireball
I fire Fireballs at the charging Kobold King, spacing them out while predicting its dodge direction.
It sidesteps the first Fireball with a leap.
But the second Fireball closes in, and the Kobold King rolls to avoid it.
Wind Cutter Wind Cutter
I fire Wind Cutters, and it keeps rolling—two, three times—to dodge.
But the second Wind Cutter hits its forehead, blowing off the skull headpiece and slashing its brow.
“Kyain!”
“Bark, damn it!”
Closing the distance, I swing my machete down at the rolling Kobold King.
It blocks with its cleaver, which is a size larger than my machete.
Wind Cutter
Taking advantage of the moment, I fire a Wind Cutter at close range at its leg, slicing above the knee.
“Gyain!”
“Whoa!”
In agony, the Kobold King wildly swings its cleaver and free arm, forcing me to back off.
Seizing the chance, it stands, enduring the pain in its leg.
“Man, for all your cockiness, you got pretty beat up before even reaching me, huh, mutt?”
I laugh at its pathetic state, blood streaming from its forehead, blinding one eye, and more flowing from its right leg.
“Grrrrr!”
The Kobold King glares at me with hate-filled eyes.
“Next is sit. You can do that, right?”
I stick out my left arm, waving it up and down as if giving a command.
“Gyaon!”
It takes the bait easily, charging and swinging its cleaver upward.
“Wide open, idiot.”
Stunned by its sloppy move, I aim a front kick at its injured knee.
“Gya!”
The sharp pain in its leg forces the Kobold King to drop to one knee, cleaver still raised.
“Good boy.”
As a reward for sitting, I swing my machete down with full force at its head.
It tries to block with its cleaver, but its stance is off.
With a clang, it manages to catch my machete but can’t withstand my strength and drops the cleaver.
My machete’s blade pierces its skull, splitting it in two.
“All that cockiness for nothing, dumbass.”
I kick it, pulling out my machete, and spit the words at the Kobold King as it falls backward.
Frankly, this Kobold King wasn’t strong enough to act so smug against me.
It should’ve fought alongside the Kobold Leaders when they charged.
Dogs hunt in packs, yet this mutt with a dog’s face was half-assed.
Like the Kobold Soldier, its weapon handling was pathetic. It’s like having a weapon made it weaker.
It might’ve been more threatening barehanded. Its strength and speed were above the Kobold Leader and Soldier, after all.
Well, I whittled it down from a distance so it couldn’t show its full strength.
But losing without landing a single hit while acting all high and mighty? That’s just embarrassing.
I muse on this as I watch the Kobold King dissolve into black particles.
A magic stone remains, and I pick it up.
“It’s the same size as the Kobold Leader’s but denser. E+, maybe?”
If an E-rank stone is 200 DP, three times that would be 600 DP.
6,000 yen for one isn’t bad. Though I’d hate facing multiple of these.
Now, time to collect the Kobold Leaders’ stones.
※
“Whoa! A silver treasure chest… and a small box?”
After gathering the magic stones, I head to the black gate behind the chair where the Kobold King sat.
There, I find a silver treasure chest and, beside it, a pearl-colored small box adorned with gold.
The silver chest is over a meter wide, while the small box is about 30 cm.
“These… I can take both, right?”
What if opening one makes the other disappear?
It’s not some tongue-cutting sparrow thing testing human greed, is it?
“Neither has a keyhole. Alright, I’ll open both.”
The chest and box are right next to each other, so I place a hand on each lid and open them simultaneously.
