Take me with you 1
▲ Author’s Foreword
Sorry this is so sudden. The main story is not here yet; instead, this will be a set of interludes.
They are short, but I hope you enjoy them.
There is also an important announcement at the end. (Though I think some of you have already figured it out…)
☆ Character introductions for this chapter
“Sora Sato”
After coming to the reversed world, he was seduced by Yuuka and lost his virginity.
At school, he continues pretending not to be a slut, but more of a “girly guy.”
“Natsuki Kamiji”
Her relationship with the protagonist is that she was classmates with the old Sora Sato.
After he was replaced by the current Sora, she became the protagonist’s friend.
She has a good face, good athletic ability, and a good personality, and she is extremely popular with boys. The old Sora Sato was in love with her too.
“Tanaka, Takahashi, and Class Rep”
The three people the protagonist often hangs out with.
Not only them, but all the girls in class are currently building friendships with the protagonist.
☆
Class changes.
Once a year, the people around you were reset.
It didn’t especially bother me with my club friends, since I could still see the ones I was close with after school.
Honestly, it wasn’t like I had ever failed to make friends…
In other words, for me, it had been an event I actually liked quite a bit.
“…”
And yet.
Lately, I kept thinking things had been better “before.”
…I wonder why.
“
“–Ka-Kamiji-san!”
“
I was resting my cheek in my hand and gazing out the window when voices called out to me.
Two boys who had ended up in the same class as me in our second year.
“What’s wrong?”
“L-Lunch!”
“D-Do you want to eat together?”
It was lunch break.
They held out their cutely wrapped lunches as they spoke.
–“We’re gonna be late for the court battle!”
–“Hurry, hurry!”
Behind them, my eyes went to the classmates hurriedly running toward the gym.
…Lately, I hadn’t been playing with them during lunch break anymore.
“Sure. Those lunches look delicious.”
“Yay! This is rolled omelet!”
“Kamiji-san, you can take whatever you like!”
The two boys’ sparkling eyes were dazzling.
They were obviously directing “affection” at me.
“Yeah. Both of them are good.”
“Yay!”
“I’ll make it again!”
“No, no, I’d feel bad, so you don’t have to. Really.”
“
“Ehh~”
“
I spent time with them while they blushed, chatting about nothing in particular.
“Thanks for the food. I’m going to the faculty room for club stuff for a bit.”
At last, I stood from my seat.
There were only ten minutes left of break.
“…Haa.”
Ahh. Were they going to confess to me again?
If they did, how should I turn them down?
Hmm, hmm…
“–Ah.”
That was when I glanced into another classroom.
–“Revolution. Now it’s ‘reversed.'”
–“Gah! I messed up the order!”
–“You’re noisy…” *bang*
–“Don’t casually counter-revolution, Class Rep!!”
There was a lively group there.
Three girls, and one other person with them.
A distinctive “boy.”
–“Hm?”
And our eyes met.
I didn’t know why, but I felt embarrassed.
I reflexively looked away and started walking down the hallway.
“Natsuki.”
“! Sa-Sato-kun.”
From behind me, he called out.
I didn’t normally get nervous talking to people… but my voice cracked.
Messy hair. A way of speaking that wasn’t boyish.
But his eyes were fixed straight on me.
“That’s not like you. Something wrong?”
☆
It had been the same in first year too.
Somehow, he seemed light, yet not light at all.
《–“That is ‘partial memory loss’ and ‘a change in personality.'”–》
In the past, when he had stood on the platform, he had been different from the Sato-kun from “before.”
As if he had been turned inside out, his personality, tastes, and relationships with others had all changed.
《–“Hey, Kamiji-san, what kind of boys do you like? You don’t have a girlfriend either, right?”–》
Before, he had come up beside me every chance he got.
With a coaxing voice, and with a lot of physical contact.
As if he were trying to seduce me.
…Honestly, it had been rough.
The boys around him kept getting involved with me too.
And yet all they talked about were romance topics I wasn’t very interested in.
When he sent me a long confession over LUIN, I had dreaded the end of summer break.
But.
Under the camphor tree in the courtyard.
The person sitting beside me now was…
“…and that’s what happened.”
“I see.”
“Yeah…”
There was a one-person gap between us.
He didn’t use a spoiled voice, just his natural one.
He treated me like I was the same sex as him.
“Popular people have it hard in their own way, huh.”
“Ahaha. Yeah, because I’m popular.”
“Ooh, look at you, lady-killer!”
“Come on, stop that!”
“Haha.”
That was why, even now, I could tell him things I couldn’t say to my female friends.
Just that alone made my heart feel lighter.
“…Honestly, I end up wondering how they can confess when we haven’t talked that much or even hung out.”
“Isn’t it ‘because’ of that?”
“Huh?”
“Natsuki, you’re good-looking. On top of that, now you’re the ace of the basketball club and the center of attention for boys. To top it off, you’re basically nice to everyone. ‘That alone’ is enough for a huge number of guys to fall for you.”
“…D-Do you have to say it that plainly?”
“If you didn’t want me to, I would’ve softened it.”
“Ugh…”
Really, Sato-kun was different from others.
Normally, wouldn’t someone blush while saying that kind of thing?
“That gets tiring, right?”
“…Yeah.”
“The reason you haven’t been coming at lunch lately is because you’re being considerate of the girls too, right?”
“!”
“If you go to the gym, the boys follow along without fail. And what those guys want to see is only ‘one’ person. Natsuki on stage, basically.”
“…”
That was right.
After I became a second-year, got juniors, and started doing well in the basketball club, it had “gotten worse.”
A fair number of boys who had no interest in anyone but me came over.
Some first-years came through connections with managers too.
So I withdrew.
But it was already too late.
I was probably already, from my female classmates’ point of view…
“Idiot.”
“Eh?”
“You’ve got it completely ‘reversed.’ Ah, damn it, fine, I get it!”
“Eh…?”
He stood up and laughed, facing me squarely.
“Tomorrow, I’ll take you out of there, Natsuki.”
