Chapter 24: Looking Forward to It

“…Mm.”

When I woke up, I checked that my big sister wasn’t there and got out of bed.

After my big sister said weird things like kissing me again, I stopped squirming. She patted my head, and even though I didn’t hate it or feel happy, my heart calmed down, and I fell asleep quickly. Even though it was supposed to be hot.

Thinking about that, I left my room and went to the living room.

“Good morning, Miha. It’s almost ready.”

As soon as I entered the living room, my big sister called out from the kitchen.

“…Yeah. Good morning.”

I didn’t think about what happened yesterday as much when I saw her, so I tried to reply normally and sat on the sofa.

I turned on the TV to check the time and waited for my big sister. Breakfast was ready, and she set it on the table.

She called me, and I moved from the sofa.

“Let’s eat.”

I said that after making sure my big sister sat down and started eating breakfast.

“Big sister, it’s delicious today too.”

I knew she’d ask if it was good like always, so I said it before she could ask.

“Good.”

My big sister said that happily and started eating breakfast.

“By the way, I’m free today.”

While we were eating breakfast, my big sister suddenly said that.

I think we have school, so she means after school, right? I’m free too, but why did she say that?

“You want me to teach you to cook, right?”

“Huh? Oh! R-really!?”

“Hehe, of course. But in return, you have to feed me properly, okay?”

“Y-yeah!”

I nodded honestly since that was my plan anyway, and there’s no one else to feed. Well, maybe Natsuki.

Natsuki’s face popped into my head for a moment but quickly disappeared. She probably likes sleeping more than eating.

“Miha, is there anything you want to eat today?”

“…Hamburger?”

“If that’s what you want, I’m fine with it, but… it’ll be like last time, you know?”

“Y-yeah, true… T-then, maybe omelet rice?”

“Hehe, got it.”

I finished breakfast, already looking forward to tonight.

Chapter 25: I Want Time to Pass Quickly

“Miha, see you.”

“Yeah, see you.”

School finally ended, so I said goodbye to Natsuki and left.

Normally, I might invite Natsuki to hang out, but today my big sister is teaching me to cook. Even if I had invited her, she probably wouldn’t come to my house today. Because of yesterday… N-no, nothing happened yesterday! I didn’t kiss anyone!

I tried not to think about unnecessary things and went home.

“I’m home.”

I said that as soon as I got home, but of course, my big sister was still at school, so no one answered.

Maybe I’ll watch TV in the living room and wait for her.

While I was watching TV, time passed quickly, and my big sister came home.

“I’m home, Miha.”

“Welcome back, big sister.”

When I said that, she sat next to me.

“When are we making it?”

“I haven’t even started cooking the rice yet, so in a bit.”

“You’re not cooking it yet?”

I asked that because I wanted to start learning from her as soon as possible.

“Usually, I’d start a bit later, but I’ll cook it early today.”

“Yeah!”

I nodded with a smile, and she smiled like she was looking at something cute, then went to the kitchen to cook the rice. She came back quickly and sat next to me.

“Until the rice is done, let’s watch TV together.”

“Yeah.”

I nodded at her words, and she got even closer to me. That would’ve been fine, but then she lifted me a little and put me on her lap.

“W-what are you doing?”

When I tried to stand up, she hugged me with both arms so I couldn’t escape.

“This is normal, right?”

“W-well… maybe…”

When she said that, it was just us being close, so maybe it wasn’t something to escape from. No, it’s not okay! If I accept this, she might think I like her in that way. Plus, it’s just hot.

“L-let me go.”

She ignored my words and started patting my head.

“It’s like payment for teaching you to cook.”

“You didn’t say anything about that!”

“Hehe, I’m kidding. I’m just doing this because I want to.”

“T-then let me go even more!”

Even though I said that, she didn’t let go, and time just passed. I couldn’t focus on the TV at all.

Chapter 26: I Want to Be Like Big Sister Soon

“B-big sister! The rice is done!”

The moment I heard the rice cooker, I said that and got my big sister to let me go.

Once I was free, I stood up from the sofa and went to the kitchen.

“B-big sister, let’s start making it!”

I turned to my big sister, who followed me, and said that.

“Miha, get out the eggs, thawed meat, onion, ketchup, salt, and pepper.”

She said that with a small laugh while taking out a frying pan.

“G-got it!”

To not forget, I quickly got everything she listed from the fridge.

“Is this okay?”

“Yes, thanks. Let’s start making it.”

I nodded at her words, and she taught me how to make omelet rice.

“Is… is it done?”

With her teaching me step by step, I managed to make it, but compared to her omelet rice, mine looked very different. In a bad way, of course.

“Miha, it’s your first time, so the look doesn’t matter.”

“…Yeah.”

I know that, but I remember how nicely she made omelet rice the first time she cooked it for me, so I felt down.

“Miha, let’s eat.”

She said that and took the omelet rice I made.

“W-wait, big sister, that’s mine…”

“You promised to feed me, right?”

“Y-yeah, but… that’s for when I make it well…”

I tried to take back the omelet rice I made, but she wouldn’t give it back.

“We made it together, so the taste is almost the same.”

“T-that might be true, but… it looks bad…”

“For me, it’s enough that you made it. So, I’ll eat it before it gets cold.”

“…O-okay.”

I took her good-looking omelet rice and followed her.

“Let’s eat.”

“L-let’s eat.”

She said that while putting her hands together, and I followed, but I felt so guilty.

“Miha, it’s really delicious. Aren’t you going to eat the omelet rice I made?”

Maybe because I wasn’t eating, she said that. I couldn’t not eat after she said that.

“It’s delicious, big sister.”

I took a bite and said that right away. It was delicious, like always.

I ate her omelet rice, thinking I want to cook as well as her soon.
