He begged with tears running down his cheeks, but well, of course I didn’t have any intention on taking any disciples.

We decided to return to the surface without delaying anymore. On our way to the surface, we found other examinees and they joined our group too. We eventually ended up making our way back with a group of over ten examinees. Some had noticed there was something strange going on and turned back on their own, so it seemed everyone had evacuated from the dungeon safely. By the way, even though I had defeated the boss and technically stopped the dungeon from going rampage, but the number of monsters that had increased wouldn’t disappear just like that. The difficulty of the dungeon would stay on the high side until the surplus of the monsters had been defeated. 

“Due to the unexpected incidents, the promotion exam will be canceled. Information regarding the date of the retest will be provided at a later time.”

An official from the Dungeon Management Agency relayed the information to us.

“Well, it can’t be helped.”

I had sacrificed my precious day off to take the test, but well. Nothing could be done about it. It wasn’t like I wanted to become an S-rank explorer anyway. I only took the test because I had promised my precious niece that I would do it. Well, a promise is still a promise. I would need to join the retest with the other examinees again.

But then, Ryuuga Takahashi shouted. 

“We don’t have any complaints regarding the retest, but it just doesn’t make sense to make Master take the retest as well!”

It seemed I wouldn’t need to take the retest. They were going to give me a special treatment. But then, I remembered something.

I pulled out the queen spider’s silk gland and handed it to the staff. 

“As expected from Master! You’ve actually obtained a queen spider’s silk gland!”

For a moment, the staff member just stood there, before speaking in a fearful manner for some reason.

I was genuinely impressed. The staff member was able to know it was an Arachne Queen’s silk gland just from a single glance alone. 

“I figured it would be fine since technically speaking, it’s still a ‘queen spider’s silk gland anyway, but… Is it not good?”
