After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 7- Discharge
“Is that so? Well, not something I didn’t expect.” Hiroto was somewhat relieved to hear that his parents didn’t know about this incident. The first meeting with them could have gone really out of hand.
“It’s about the Shirogane family and the fact that their security was breached and the sole heiress of the family was easily targeted by a group of goons. Their reputation would be jeopardized and Shirogane Miyuki-san may get in the eyes of other criminal organizations as well.”
Yuichi put out the reasoning, in case Hiroto might be feeling frustrated that his deed would be kept a secret even though he nearly put his life on line to save Miyuki.
However, Hiroto didn’t mind such things at all. Rather his focus was on something else…
‘Being the daughter of such a wealthy family…indeed she would be a prime target of many bastards…..’ In his mind, Hiroto has already begun planning the necessary means he needs to partake in, to keep his girl safe.
However, on the other side, seeing Hiroto’s serious visage, Yuichi could only guess that he still was frustrated which urged him to put his hand over Hiroto’s shoulder and call out for him,
“Don’t worry, friend. I and Shirogane-san know how brave of a person you are. If not this time then surely in the future you will get recognition.”
Hiroto blinked in perplexion but didn’t say anything to that and just nodded listlessly.
After a bit of chatting, Yuichi decided to let his friend rest for now as he got up from his seat to leave.
“Call me when you get discharged.”
“Alright.” Hearing that, Yuichi turned on his heel to leave the hospital room when suddenly he remembered something and asked after half-turning toward Hiroto.
“By the way…did you say something inappropriate to Shirogane-san?”
Hearing the question, Hiroto frowned slightly before asking, “Why?”
“I mean…her face was entirely red and she seemed to be wobbling on her feet when she left your room.”
Hearing his words, Hiroto couldn’t stop himself from grinning like a fool. He did expect some reaction but for someone with an iron-clad defense as Miyuki…
‘So she indeed was affected by my confession. Nice~”

After leaving the hospital Yuichi took out his phone and was about to dial a certain number in order to inquire about the incident in which his friend got involved.
However, before he could have tapped on the number, his phone buzzed, showing a familiar name at the crown of the screen.
“Kaori?” Picking up the phone, Yuichi called out for the girl in an unsure tone since he wasn’t expecting her to call at this time.
[Yu-kun…c-can we meet? Like, right now?]
Her voice was weak and seemed like she was sobbing, which brought a crease between his brows.
“Alright.” Abandoning his plans, Yuichi hailed a taxi to reach his destination as soon as he could.

“Dizziness? Hallucination or discomfort anywhere?” Hearing the doctor’s question, Hiroto did nothing more than shaking his head in denial.
He was all fine and ready to go, since he wasn’t hospitalized because of some injuries, in the first place.
“Hmm. Seems fine.” After doing some more examination, the doctor freed Hiroto and began the processing of his discharge.
Hiroto changed into his casual wear in no time and got rid of that ominous hospital robe. He had a bad memory of that clothing.
After walking out of the room, he was greeted by the same bodyguard who came to talk to him after Hiroto woke up.
“You could have rested for the day, here. We would have taken care of the bill.”
As the two made their way out of the place, the black suit-wearing man couldn’t help suggesting since he believed, after the confrontation with those many goons, the boy might not be able to leave the hospital for the week, at the very least.
However, “I am fine. Just need some homemade food and I will be back on track.” Well, even though he said that, Hiroto actually has merely the memories of this said homemade food.
In his previous life, he never had someone to cook at home so he indeed was a little looking forward to what it feels like to live with a family.
Outside the hospital, a black Mercedes awaited Hiroto as they made their way silently toward the car.
Opening the back seat door for the younger one, the bald bodyguard informed,
“Someone will contact you soon to talk about your reward. Until then, please keep everything a secret. Even from your family.”
Hiroto raised his brows at that.
Truth be told, meeting his dream girl for real, and chatting with her (mostly one-sided) for almost twelve minutes and forty-eight seconds was more than enough reward for him. But well of course, in this unnatural and unexpected world, every help is welcome.
“Hmm, alright. I won’t.” Promising the guy, Hiroto jumped inside the car and sat lazily.
He needed to sort out some memories before reaching home.

Yuichi had a bad feeling about this call from his friend. She was supposed to meet with her friend today and have some fun.
Kaori was anxious these days and despite Yuichi always asking her about what was going on, she never said anything. That’s why, Hiroto suggested that she should hang out with her other friends as well, from time to time.
Yuichi didn’t understand why Hiroto suggested that until the person explained how sometimes meeting different people could heal a person’s psyche.
However, once he reached the place where Kaori invited him, Yuichi knew that she was disturbed about something severe.
It was a park near the school and Kaori currently occupying one of the lonely benches on the side of the footpath with her face covered with dark clouds.
Her short green hair was obstructing the left side of her face as her olive green eyes remained trained toward the ground.
Her dress, which consisted of a black floral design one piece and a matching handbag, complimented her youthful beauty. Yuichi could tell that she was going to meet her friends…but all of a sudden called him.
Why?
“Kaori?” Shaking her shoulder a little to break her daze, Yuichi called for the girl.
Her emerald eyes flashed his reflection as she raised her head to look at him.
The blank look suddenly turned weak as tears welled up in her eyes and the girl suddenly threw herself at Yuichi.
“Yu-kun!”
