After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine

The conversation between the four adults was going on smoothly. They have common interests to converse and because of that, time was passing quite quickly.

All of a sudden, Souma’s brows elevated and he paused mid-sentence.

Naturally, Ryouske noticed the sudden shift of Souma’s focus before he also looked in the direction where Souma had his focus—only to find himself getting surprised as well.

Yuki and Akiko also noticed the sudden silence from the two men, which urged the two ladies to turn their eyes in the same direction—and their reaction was similar.

All of them stared at Miyuki who was carrying the tray which had several cups placed on it.

Elegantly she walked towards the center and placed the tray on the table.

The smile she wore currently wasn’t constrained nor she seemed as nervous as before.

Her confident aura retained every gaze on her until Hiroto didn’t step in and placed the tray of snacks for the elders.

“I-I completely forgot to serve the tea,” Akiko stated with her eyes slightly widened in shock. She couldn’t believe that after preparing for today, for so long, she made such a naive mistake.

“It’s okay, Akiko-san. Hiro-kun helped so it didn’t take much effort. Anyway, please have the tea before it gets cold.” With a radiant smile, she held the saucer and extended it toward Akiko—which the latter took with a blank face.

Yuki giggled quietly at her place, as she mentally patted her daughter for such a great performance. Hiroto had similar sentiments.

Soon Ryouske and Souma also took their cups and the course of conversation entirely shifted.

Hiroto pulled Miyuki’s chair and settled it beside his.

They both sat side by side with their shoulders barely touching.

The smile Miyuki wore was thanks to Hiroto’s encouragement.

“It’s well-balanced, Miyuki-chan.”

Ryouske complimented the tea after taking a sip followed by Souma, “Indeed. It’s quite to my liking.”

Although Miyuki knew her father wasn’t being completely truthful—given that he doesn’t prefer sweet beverages—she smiled at him and said thanks to both of them.

“By the way, Miyu-chan, Akiko-san was wondering about your future goals. I was about to tell her, but since you are here…” Yuki (finally) built a bridge for Akiko and Miyuki to converse.

Miyuki nodded at that and turned to look at the person whom she mentally regarded as ‘mother-in-law’,

“After school graduation, I have decided to take business studies as my primary course and pursue a masters in it.”

Akiko raised her brows in amazement, “That is amazing, Miyuki-san. To have your aim resolved. Then, are you aiming to manage your father’s company in the future?”

Miyuki shook her head, “I would have my start-up.”

Ryouske blinked in confusion before he asked the man in front of him, “Weren’t you planning to delegate your role to Miyuki-chan?”

Ryouske remembered that Souma once told his intention which converged with Miyuki’s life goal.

“Well, the company will belong to Miyuki and Hiroto in the future. Whatever they do with it, would be up to them.”

Ryouske and Akiko were a little taken aback by that statement, as they, fleetingly, shared a glance.

To give such a statement signifies Souma has already accepted Hiroto as his son-in-law.

The growing silence could have become awkward, but it didn’t as Hiroto broke the ice,

“Well, I can be a good secretary to Miyuki. What do you say?” The last part arrived with a nudge to her shoulder.

Miyuki glanced at him with a big smile on her face and her fluffy cheeks turning rosy.

Ryouske heaved a long breath before he decided to stop beating around, “Now that we are on the topic, Souma-san, then can I ask you the motive of this meeting?”

Although Hiroto has told them why the Shirogane family is coming to their place, until Souma doesn’t confirm it Ryouske can’t proceed with the matter.

Suddenly the atmosphere of the living area turned a little heavy.

Miyuki’s smile slowly disappeared as she glanced at Hiroto anxiously.

In response, Hiroto held her hand from the gap of the chair and wordlessly told her to relax.

Hiroto knows, regardless of how this conversation goes, he would get engaged and married to Miyuki in the future.

Souma placed the cup back on the table before he began, “Ryouske-san, you must be aware of the fact that our children have been dating for some time now. ”

Ryouske nodded.

“Although it would sound a bit hasty, I want them to get engaged. And please rest assured, the date of marriage would be only decided once they settle in their life and are prepared to become officially married.”

Souma didn’t bring out the reason why he wanted the two to get engaged this suddenly. Given, that Ryouske was once part of the upper circle he must be already aware of the circumstances.

Dating isn’t a taboo but given the number of proposals Souma receives for his daughter, it would be wise for this engagement to happen to officialize their relationship and stop those pursuers from further troubling Miyuki.

Ryouske remained silent for a moment. There was not a hint of smile on his face as he glanced at his wife, and with just their eyes they communicated for a moment.

Turning his attention towards Miyuki and Hiroto, Ryouske asked, “If you two have any objection regarding this engagement then you can tell us.”

Hiroto and Miyuki turned to look at each other for a moment and without hesitation, they responded,

“I have no problem.”

“Same for me.”

The smile they wore and their connected hands were enough evidence to prove the bond they share now. Ryouske could see the difference in their relationship compared to what it was in the past.

A smile lifted the four adult’s lips one after another.

The Shirogane family knows that Hiroto is a good person at heart and cares for their daughter. And the Takeda family is quite welcoming as well.

For Takeda family, Miyuki has changed for good in these few months. She was no longer the arrogant princess who chooses her words before speaking to others. She is now more expressive and extremely caring of their son. And given Shirogane family came to propose the engagement shows that they doesn’t feel ashamed of having their daughter tied to a mediocre family.

The two families were content with this decision.

And the two people, about whom all this was related to, couldn’t hide their happiness having their threads of fate tied with a tight knot.

Hiroto and Miyuki are now officially engaged.

A/N:- Ahh, gonna have a (soft) drink tonight as celebration. There would be a formal ceremony of their engagement but it would take some time.

Hiroto and Miyuki wouldn’t be hiding their relationship so now they can go yan in public as well.
