“Yes, I am fine. Nothing in that sludge was harmful to my skin. Though I might smell like fish for some days…” Yuichi couldn’t help but smile wryly as he sniffed himself.

Even though he has taken a bath three times over, using the best body wash and shampoo (which he ordered online), Yuichi couldn’t entirely get rid of the smell.

[Are you really certain that the person behind the incident is not that gal? From what you have told me it seemed she was just venting her frustration or maybe taking revenge for her sister?]

Talking about my sister, the student council president Ikeda Minami was also one of those girls who confessed her love for Yuichi in the past. But she was the only person who didn’t even ask for any reason for his rejection nor seemed to be actively hostile toward him.

“Not likely. I think the reason is something different…something more complex.” Yuichi has been thinking about it since this afternoon, that’s why he asked Hiroto to set an appointment with Satomi, outside the school.

While talking Yuichi casually began to walk toward the dining table which was just before the floor-to-ceiling window.

[…I think you should still be careful…]

“Hmm…” Hearing her words which majorly revolved around his safety, Yuichi hummed as he slid something from underneath the dining table and casually strolled toward his bedroom which had a small terrace balcony attached.

[…that’s why I told him-]

“Hey, Minami.” Yuichi suddenly interrupted the girl on the other side, before he asked, “Shooting a person in Tokyo gets me how many years in jail?”

There was a small silence before the other side responded,

[If it’s not an important figure, we can take care of it.]

Yuichi didn’t think twice after that before he positioned the gun toward the ceiling and pressed the trigger without even looking at it.

*STIUK*

The silenced gunshot on the ceiling of the balcony created a small hole and the shell fell on the floor.

Yuichi looked up only to find no one there.

“Got away, eh…” Muttering to himself, Yuichi looked down the balcony. There was no sign of someone escaping, nor was there any route to escape from this height, in the first place.

[Yu? Is there someone?]

“Ah, it’s nothing. I probably have to put surveillance around my home.”

[…you don’t need to actually…]

[Hiroto’s POV:]

‘That was close…’ I only intended to plant the bugs around Yuichi’s home and leave before he finished bathing. However, his chat with the gang leader’s adopted daughter caught my attention.

Toujo Minami is a character I need to keep an eye on. She would become a massive hindrance at every step of this story if Yuichi started dating her early on.

That woman has the authority and enough madness to restrict Yuichi’s interaction with any future heroine and also, she might not let Yuichi interfere in many incidents which could lead to one of the heroine’s demise.

I need to keep Yuichi out of her reach, as such, I was just determining their current relationship. Thankfully, from how far I heard, she was only at the stage of a good friend—close to an elder sister.

Leaving the apartment where Yuichi lived, I began walking down the route that leads to the railway station.

From here on, things might become complicated.

Originally, once Yuichi talked to Satomi, she would tell her sad story to Yuichi after some persuasion which would lead the protagonist to the main heroine of this arc—Ikeda Kasumi.

In the end, Kasumi would ask for a barter from Yuichi. To set Satomi ‘free’, Kasumi would request Yuichi to have sex with her.

Yeah, she’s aiming for that. It wasn’t like that crazy bitch is just lusting on Yuichi, but she also would do it at a time when it wouldn’t be a safe period for her—to get pregnant.

However, the plan fails, naturally, yet Yuichi doesn’t entirely pluck himself out of her life. After all, being the protagonist with a golden heart, how he can dump a girl, he slept with?

Now, here’s the twist.

In the original scenario, no route allowed Kaori to propose to Yuichi at such an early stage. Now if Yuichi hesitates or worse, rejects the barter with Kasumi, things might turn messy.

‘Haah…I need to do something to avoid another regression…’

[Shiroagne residence]

After having dinner with her family, Miyuki instantly bid her farewell, with the excuse of finishing her homework.

Although her mother seemed interested, Miyuki didn’t want to disclose the actual reason behind her haste.

Standing just before her own room’s door, Miyuki first combed her hair with her fingers slightly, checked her attire, and smelled her breath. For the final check, she took out her phone and looked at her face through the camera.

Once done, she took several breaths and erased the smile she saw previously in the camera before turning the doorknob of her room.

Walking inside, she didn’t look around and first closed the door.

Finally, she looked over her shoulder toward her bed, where she was expecting a certain someone to be present. She also left her window open for the intruder and was patiently waiting since evening to meet him.

However…

‘…is he mad, after all?’

Miyuki was expecting to meet Hiroto in her room, just like she had been for the past few days. She didn’t know how, but he easily trespassed all the security measures and sneaked inside her room, without alerting anyone.

Yet…today…he wasn’t here.

“If you are hiding somewhere…come out right now…I don’t like playing hide-n-seek.” Miyuki folded her arms on her chest before calling out. She even closed her eyes for him to surprise her by hugging her from behind.

She hoped he would do so…

Yet…

‘…he is mad at me because I was worried for Yuichi-kun…’ With those thoughts, Miyuki instantly rushed toward her study table and after taking her cell phone, she hurriedly opened the contacts.

The last call she had with Hiroto, ended on a bitter note since she joked about him being jealous. However, she was merely asking for Yuichi’s well-being in general.

Although she once was interested in Yuichi, things were no longer like that…Miyuki’s attention was no longer on Yuichi or any other boy.

It was Hiroto she looked at…yet…

Miyuki sank to the floor with the phone dropping from her hold and her eyes never blinking.

‘Does he hate me now?’ The thought plagued her mind and made her senseless.

A/N:- She is reaching there. I hope Hiroto better have a reason prepared to make his girl sad.

Miyuki isn’t your typical girl, I remind you. Her character would turn out a lot twisted in the future.

I am trying to write both sides equally since there would be a major role of Yuichi, further in the story. After all, Hiroto isn’t invincible.
