Goddess-Sama Vs. Childhood Friend. (Part 2)
When I returned from the pharmacy, I saw Mikoto-san sleeping soundly.
The fever must have drained her strength, and I thought it would be good for her to get a good night’s sleep.
The futon was turned up. She had already changed into a white T-shirt and shorts, probably because she was sweating.
Cooling sheets and masks would be fine if Mikoto-san used them after she woke up.
Realizing that I had forgotten to humidify the room, I refilled the humidifier with water and turned it on.
I tend to forget to use it since it was just me back then, but I should at least use it when someone is down with a cold.
I then took out a couple of mystery novels from the bookshelf.
I had bought them but hadn’t gotten around to reading any of them, so this would be a good opportunity to get a little reading done.
I brought a chair next to Mikoto-san and sat down with a paperback in my hand.
After a few hours of reading mystery novels, I received a tug on my leg.
Mikoto-san, who is on the futon, is looking up at me.
“Akihara-kun.”
“What?”
“I’d like some water.”
“Right away.”
I stood up, filled a glass of water and handed it to Mikoto-san.
Mizukoto-san put her lips to the cup, drank it down, and said, “Thank you.”
At that moment, I realized.
It was the first time she had honestly asked me for a favor.
I stared into her blue eyes.
“Wh-what?”
Mikoto-san asked me back with a confused look on her face.
I shook my head.
“It’s nothing.”
“I- see.?”
“Is there anything else you want me to do?”
“Uhmm, right, I need to go to the bathroom…”
“Can you walk?”
“I think I can walk, but I might stumble along the way…”
“Do you need help?”
Mikoto-san nodded her head in a sincere manner.
I wondered if Mikoto-san suddenly became more honest because she was weakened by the cold or because I told her to accept goodwill with an open heart.
I held out my hand to Mikoto-san, she took my hand and got up.
Her beautiful silver hair swayed softly.
I did as Mikoto-san told me and walked her to the bathroom.
“Sorry, but it’s embarrassing so…”
“Don’t worry, I won’t wait for you in front of the bathroom door.”
I laughed, and Mikoto-san went into the bathroom.
I kept a little distance from her and waited for her to come out of the bathroom, and when she did, I took her back to the futon.
Once inside the futon, she coughed again.
“I have some cough medicine, do you want some?”
“…Yeah.”
I went to get another glass of water and handed it to Mikoto-san.
Then, Mikoto-san stopped moving, and I became concerned.
Is she okay?
Mikoto-san was holding the glass in her hand and staring at me with her blue eyes.
Then she blushed a little and said in a whisper.
“Th-thanks a lot…”
I looked at her with a dumbfounded look on my face and then smiled.
“You’re welcome.”
Mikoto-san had declared that yesterday was the last time she would ever say “thank you” to me again.
But it seems that she didn’t go with it though. So I guess that means she has decided to accept good intentions.
With a gulp, Mikoto-san drank the cough medicine from the glass of water. The gesture was a little sexy, and it made me gasp.
Then, Mikoto-san tried to hand the cup back to me, but her hand slipped immediately after that.
The cup tipped over, splashing all of its contents onto Mikoto-san’s body.
“Hyaa”
Mikoto-san screamed cutely.
I looked and saw that her t-shirt was soaked through and her underwear was showing through around her chest.
“So-sorry.”
I hurriedly looked away, Mikoto-san looked at me strangely.
“Why are you apologizing, Akihara-kun? I’m the one who spilled it.”
“No, it’s just other things… Anyway, you can dry them off later, so go change your clothes. It’s cold, right?”
“Why are you being so nice to me, Akihara-kun?”
Mikoto-san asked me in her wet pajamas.
Of all things, you didn’t have to ask me in that outfit.
I answered, looking away.
“There’s no particular reason for it.”
Hearing this, Mikoto-san asked in a doubtful voice,
“Look me straight in the eye. Why are you even looking away?”
I couldn’t say that it was because Mikoto-san’s underwear was visible through it, but I had no choice but to make eye contact with her.
The fabric of Mikoto-san’s wet pajamas clung tightly to her white skin, making her underwear more and more clearly visible.
A pink bra with a floral design, and she’s wearing something surprisingly pretty, and so I thought about things that didn’t matter continuously .
Mikoto-san was staring back at me with her blue eyes.
“You know… I’m really sorry.”
“For what?”
“For showing up at your house out of the blue, getting struck by cold and now bothering you…”
Mikoto-san said calmly.
“You don’t have to worry about it. Mikoto-san, you must have had a hard time because of various circumstances. I don’t think it’s a nuisance.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
When I said this and smiled, Mikoto-san looked happy.
“…Can I stay in this house for a little while longer?”
“Of course. As long as you don’t mind this shabby apartment of mine.”
“I… feel… comfortable here. Also… you are… very kind… Akihara-kun.”
Her last words were faint. Mikoto-san looked away, embarrassed. I was starting to feel embarrassed, too.
Then I remembered.
Just as Mikoto-san was about to open up to me, I had something I needed to tell her, even though the timing was not good…
But if Mikoto noticed it first, it would be even more troublesome. I had no choice but to say it.
“By the way, Mikoto-san. It’s very hard for me to say this, but… your underwear is showing through.”
At my words, Mikoto-san then looked at her own chest as her face turned red. Her nightgown was soaking wet from the glass of water she had just spilled.
Then, in a panic, she tried to pull the blanket closer to hide it after seeming to realize that her body was wet.
I guess she didn’t want the blanket to get wet, either.
She was at a loss as to what to do.
I thought that her flustered attitude was more heartwarming than her underwear.
“I’m going to go out of the room so you can get changed.”
I said this and pulled back the sliding door separating the room where Mikoto-san sleeps at.
I thought to myself, Surprisingly, Mikoto-san is also careless in many ways.
At that moment, the intercom rang.
Who could it be?
d a voice “Haruto! Are you there?!”
Then I heard the sound of a door being unlocked.
It was obvious who the visitor was.
It was one of the three people who had the key to this room.
It was my childhood friend, Sasaki Kaho.
