Chapter 54 Sales materials
“Excuse me,” I said.
“Yes?” replied the president.
“I know we just delivered the N2 Blast, but could I take it back for just one day? I’ll bring it back as soon as I’m done.”
I had come up with an idea and decided to run it by President Hicero.
“I don’t mind, but why?” he asked.
“I want to create some promotional footage.”
“Promotional… footage?”
Seeing his puzzled expression, I clarified, “I mean, I want to make some materials that your sales team can use.”
“You’re not only improving product development but also helping with sales? That’s wonderful. Please go ahead,” he said, granting permission for me to take the N2 Blast.
“Given that the compensation is commission-based, it’s only natural,” I replied.
“I have no idea what you’ll come up with, but I know one thing: if you’re the one making it, it will be worth the wait,” he said with a hopeful smile.
“I’ll do my best to meet your expectations.”
Feeling a bit of extra pressure, I resolved to focus on my idea without getting overwhelmed. With the N2 Blast stored away, I left the main building of Zelgius Maritime Insurance.
◇
The idea I had for the promotional video was to capture “impactful footage of a fire scene.”
Naturally, the location for this shoot was limited. The ideal place was the Inferno Continent.
Using dragon transformation magic, I flew straight to the Inferno Continent. On the coast, I saw Francois casually dealing with monsters trying to leave the continent.
“Hey, it’s Big Bro! What’s up today?” Francois, usually laid-back, perked up immediately upon seeing me and asked enthusiastically.
“I need to film something. Can you help me?” I asked.
“Filming…? I don’t really get it, but of course, I’ll help you, Big Bro!” Francois readily agreed to assist.
With her agreement, it was time to start preparations.
I used storage magic to take out five magic stones and began crafting magic tools. These included cameras 1 through 3, an editing tool, and a playback tool.
“Should I help with that?” Francois asked, noticing my engraving work.
“No, it’s fine for now,” I replied. While I appreciated her willingness, Francois wasn’t familiar with the magic circles for these tools, and teaching her would take longer than just making them myself. What I needed from her was her cooperation as the subject of the shoot.
Once the five magic tools were complete, I stored the editing and playback tools using storage magic and sent the camera tools into the air. I also took out four N2 Blast units from storage, temporarily disabling their limiters, and sent them into the air as well.
With everything ready, I gave Francois her instructions.
“Sorry, but I need you to transform back into a dragon and hover around that area,” I said, pointing to a specific spot in the sky.
“Got it! Just a moment!” Francois quickly transformed back into a dragon and positioned herself where I had indicated.
“Alright, I’ll give the signal. When the countdown reaches zero, release your dragon’s breath. Make the magic formation much slower than usual and keep the power to a minimum.”
“Got it! I’m ready to fire anytime!”
“Understood.”
I went around pressing the record buttons on the shooting magic tools.
“Here we go. Three… two… one… now!”
At my signal, Francois opened her mouth wide and began to unleash her dragon’s breath. While she took her time constructing the magic formation, the four N2 Blasts detected it and prepared to fire liquid nitrogen. A moment later, both were released simultaneously, colliding at the midpoint.
The forces were evenly matched for a while, creating a powerful clash.
“…Whoa!”
In the end, the longer-lasting N2 Blast won out, forcing Francois to nimbly evade the stream of nitrogen.
“How’s that?”
“Perfect.”
I stopped recording on all the shooting magic tools and imported the captured data into the editing magic tool. The preview screen showed the intense clash of forces perfectly captured.
With the raw footage ready, it was time to do some light video editing.
“This highly efficient firefighting device can even withstand the breath of an Inferno Continent dragon, as you can see!”
I added some narration, slow-motion effects, and other elements to make the promotional video more compelling. To avoid accusations of false advertising, I included a small disclaimer: “※This is a theoretical value. In practice, the power will be limited to prevent structural damage to houses.”
Once the video file was complete, I imported it into the playback magic tool. To verify the final product, I played it back.
“Wow… is that me just now…”
This playback magic tool projected the video as a hologram in midair. Francois watched the video with keen interest from various angles.
“…This will work.”
I was confident that this video would effectively convey the appeal of the N2 Blast to potential customers.
“Thanks, Francois. This should make for a great advertisement.”
“No problem at all! I’m happy to help anytime! …By the way, could we have a mock battle again sometime?”
“Of course. I’ll be back.”
With Francois seeing me off, I transformed back into a dragon and returned to the capital. Now, it was up to President Hicero’s evaluation.

Chapter 55 The Presidents reaction
As I approached the building, I dispelled the dragon transformation spell, reverting to my human form, and headed to the president’s office.
“It’s Hadar. I’m back.”
I knocked on the door and said this. From inside, I heard a voice saying, “Come in,” so I opened the door and entered.
“Good work. Where did you go?”
This was the first question from President Hicero.
“The Inferno Continent,” I replied.
“T-The Inferno Continent!?”
When I told him where I’d been, the president’s eyes widened in shock.
“I have heard rumors at a whisper level that you, Hadar, conquered that continent. But before you left, you said you were going to make promotional materials for our company’s sales. Why on earth would you need to go to the Inferno Continent for that!?”
“I wanted to ask a friend for help,” I explained.
“A friend on the Inferno Continent…”
When I gave my reason, the president held his head in his hands.
“Well, whatever. So, what kind of materials did you create? Show me.”
As if giving up on thinking, the president nodded repeatedly and urged me to get to the point.
“Before that, I’m returning these as I’m done with them.”
“Oh, right.”
I first returned the four N2 Blast units, then took out the video playback magic tool and began my explanation.
“This is a magic tool that can play back videos. I went to the Inferno Continent to shoot footage for the playback. When customers see this, it will greatly enhance their desire to purchase fire insurance.”
While saying this, I activated the magic tool. The scene of Francois’s dragon breath clashing with the four N2 Blasts, complete with subtitles and audio, was dramatically projected.
“What… what is this…?”
President Hicero was frozen, his mouth hanging open in shock as he watched the footage.
“Who could have predicted we’d have such an impactful video prepared…”
Even after the video ended, he remained in a state of shock for a while. It took quite some time for him to snap out of it, and when he finally did, he asked as if suddenly realizing something:
“By the way… when you said ‘a friend on the Inferno Continent,’ did you mean this dragon?”
“Yes. I had her breathe fire for dramatic effect.”
When I answered, the president once again held his head in his hands.
“‘Had her breathe fire’… That’s a phrase I never thought I’d hear in my life…”
…Uh oh. Is this reaction okay? I was expecting something more along the lines of, “This will definitely make our insurance fly off the shelves!” but it seems different from what I anticipated.
“So, do you think we can use this?” I asked, feeling a bit uneasy.
President Hicero gave an unexpected response:
“Of course! With such a stunning video that can overwhelm viewers’ senses, we can push for immediate contracts!”
“Huh…”
I was just trying to highlight the appeal of the N2 Blast, not aiming for some kind of brainwashing effect.
Well, I have confidence in the product itself, and if the shock value of the video leads to more contracts without lowering customer satisfaction, then I guess it’s fine.
Though it wasn’t exactly what I had in mind, it seems like they’ll adopt it, so I decided to consider it a success.
Now, all that’s left is to mass-produce this playback magic tool for the sales team.
“Understood. I’ll mass-produce and deliver the video playback magic tools.”
“Can something this elaborate really be mass-produced?”
“We have the original data. I just need to make the basic playback magic tools and import the video. It’s simple to mass-produce.”
“I’m not quite sure what you mean by all those terms… but if you can mass-produce it, that would be fantastic.”
With the conversation settled, I headed to the borrowed empty room to start mass-producing the magic tools.
And then, one hour later.
With enough video playback magic tools for the entire sales team in hand, I returned to the president’s office.
“It’s done.”
“You can even complete this in a day… Being around you makes me lose my sense of speed.”
It felt like a strange compliment, but I delivered the goods as promised.
“Well then, I look forward to hearing about the sales results.”
I said this and was about to leave the president’s office when he called out to me.
“Wait a moment.”
The president rummaged through a drawer in his desk. He pulled out a piece of paper and continued,
“I’ve only heard rumors, but after working with you, I understand your greatness. It would be a waste to simply pay you and part ways. Would you consider becoming one of our directors after you graduate? If you have a prior commitment with Tridia or another company, you could be an outside director.”
In his hand was a director appointment contract. This scene felt familiar.
“Thank you. I’ll consider it.”
“Please do.”
I put the contract away using my storage magic.
This makes the second informal job offer. Not bad for a first-year student.
