Volume 8 Chapter 5 Where is the treasure?
“Captain, speaking of which, have we found any information on the ‘Hero’s Relic’?”
Wolf asked in a hushed tone, making sure there were no people around.
Ruisha also confirmed with magical detection that no one was present before speaking. The topic they were about to discuss was top-secret and couldn’t be overheard by anyone.
“Yeah, that’s right. At the moment, there are ‘two’ promising pieces of information.”
“Oh, wow… Two pieces of information, you say? Where are they, exactly?”
“Well, one is a legend passed down in the port town ‘Lasisco’ to the east of the empire. It’s a legend about the legendary pirate, the Pirate King ‘Captain Bat’. It’s said that among the treasures left by the legendary pirate, there’s the hero’s treasure.”
“Captain Bat, the legendary pirate!? This is getting interesting…”
Captain Bat was a legendary pirate who had been active about a hundred years ago.
His tales of bravery were as numerous as those of the hero, Orger, and in the port town, they were more fondly recounted than the legend of the hero.
Despite being a pirate, he never attacked the weak, and instead, he was celebrated as a hero who defeated vicious pirates, bringing peace to the surrounding seas. Whether this was truly the case was uncertain, but the fact remained that he was still revered as a hero by many to this day.
“Hehehe, my companions found this information,” said Iris, the blonde vampire, proudly making a V-sign with both hands. Her expression was deadpan, but her enthusiastic peace sign didn’t quite match.
“Our fellow vampires who actually went to the port town, Lasisco, found this information. The credibility is quite high,” she added.
“Yeah, this information is incredibly helpful. I’ll make sure to thank the vampire folks too,” Ruisha responded appreciatively.
“Of course.”
Iris flashed a smug grin and pressed her peace sign against Sharo, who was seated next to her.
She was boasting about how she was being useful.
“Oh, stop it! Enough of that noise! I get it, so cut it out!” Sharo retorted.
“Hmm.”
It seemed they were on the verge of a squabble, or so it seemed. The two of them had become quite close.
Ruisha watched their interactions with a heartwarming smile.
“So, what’s the other piece of information?”
“Ah, yes. Well, this is the information Yuri gave us. There’s an annual combat tournament held in the gambling country ‘Vega’ in the south. The winning prize there is the ‘Hero’s Belt.'”
“The hero’s relic is being offered as a prize!? Can they really do that…?”
“Vega is a city-state, and the laws and rules of other countries don’t apply there.”
“I see… So, Captain, you’re planning to participate in that, right?”
As Wolf inquired, Ruisha nodded with a determined expression.
“Yeah. It seems skilled fighters from all over the continent gather for this tournament. Moreover, it’s a battle where magic is prohibited, so it’ll be a tough fight, but I’ll give it my all.”
“Haha! That’s our Captain! I’ll also participate, though I may be of little help!”
“Yeah, I’m counting on you, Wolf.”
“Hey, don’t forget about me. Ru, you should rely on me alone.”
“Sharo, what are you saying, putting me aside? My companions brought the information, or you could say it’s not an exaggeration to say that I brought it.”
“That’s an exaggeration!”
The lively banter of his supportive companions.
Watching them, Ruisha felt a strong conviction that with them by his side, they could overcome the tough battles ahead.

Volume 8 Chapter 6 Magic Academy Student Council
At the magic academy, a wide variety of club activities take place.
There are clubs for studying magic and clubs for sports that use magic. Some even involve ball games originating from different worlds.
Among Ruisha and his classmates, there are those who participate in such club activities.
However, most of their classmates prefer to join Ruisha’s class, the ‘Ruisha Academy,’ so there are not many who enthusiastically participate in club activities.
Ruisha also learns a lot from classmates with various talents.
So, even today after school, as always, he was planning to go to the square outside the school building where everyone gathers… but someone appeared to interrupt him.
“You’re Ruisha, right?”
The one who appeared said so, a student with slicked-back black hair and black-rimmed glasses, giving off a serious impression.
Two students followed closely behind him.
“Indeed, and you are the student council president, right?”
Ruisha recognized the individual.
He and the two students accompanying him were members of the ‘Magic Academy Student Council.’ They were responsible for overseeing all events at the academy and upholding discipline.
It was an incredibly busy and challenging role, but those who successfully carried out their duties until graduation were apparently greatly favored in job opportunities. Hence, many desired to join the student council, but only a few made it in practice.
The reason was simple, joining the student council required a significantly high level of ability.
In other words, the student council president before him likely possessed considerable abilities.
“Hehe, it’s an honor to be recognized by a current celebrity like you, Ruisha-kun.”
“I’ve seen you in action a few times. I’m actually delighted that the student council president remembers me.”
“Oh… I’ve heard rumors that you’re a combat enthusiast like a bloodthirsty beast, defeating students one after another with a smile. But it seems you’re unexpectedly a rational and kind young man.”
“S-so, those kinds of rumors were circulating?”
Ruisa slumps, not just from the tail end of rumors but up to his dorsal fin. Lately, he often startles unfamiliar students with a sudden “eek.” He had been wondering why this happens so frequently, but now he understands that it’s because of these rumors.
“Do you have any business with me, Mr. Student Council President? Aren’t you busy?”
“Well, please don’t be so rude. Mite, fetch that item.”
Called by the student council president, a person who had been standing behind him stepped forward.
The person was a muscular man, looking far from a child with his well-developed muscles. He had a shaved head, dark skin, and a stern appearance that would make it difficult to meet his eyes if you passed him on the street.
He took a long board he held in his hand and slammed it in front of Ruisha with a loud thud. There were some characters written on the board.
“What is this… ‘Student Council Triple Challenge’…?”
Ruisha twisted his head at the unfamiliar words with no recollection, not understanding their meaning.
Well, he somehow grasped the meaning, but he had no idea why they were supposed to have a match, and what kind of match it was.
Confused, Ruisha turned his face towards Sharo, Iris, and Wolf who were with him, but all three of them shook their heads indicating they didn’t know either.
Sensing this awkward atmosphere, the student council president began to explain.
“Ahem! The Student Council Triple Challenge is a traditional event passed down in the Magic Academy! The one acknowledged as a challenger will battle against the members of the student council, and when they defeat everyone, they will be recognized as the next student council president! And luckily, you’ve been chosen as the challenger. Of course, you wouldn’t decline, right?”
“Well, I really don’t want to…”
Ruisha muttered weakly.
