Volume 7 Chapter 22 Explosive Fist
Burn swallowed the mouthful of meat and glanced at the man rushing towards him.
“I don’t know what’s going on… but well, believing in what your best friend says is what being a man is about.”
Saying that, Burn readied his fist and dashed forward.
Seeing this, the man chanted, “Body Enhancement: Bulk!” A red aura enveloped the man, enhancing his physical abilities.
For a demon race already possessing high physical abilities, using enhancement magic made them practically unbeatable for a mere human in a direct confrontation. The man was confident as he smiled at Burn and threw a punch.
“Get out of the way, brat!!”
A full-powered straight punch. However, Burn skillfully evaded the attack, barely avoiding any harm from the formidable blow.
For Burn, who constantly engaged in sparring with Wolf and often tested his strength, evading this level of attack without using magic was a piece of cake. Lately, he even challenged Ruisha, so it was even easier. Of course, he had never won against Ruisha.
“Now, it’s my turn…!”
Diving into the man’s guard, Burn swung his clenched fist towards the man’s face.
However, no matter how well-trained one might be, inflicting damage on a magic-enhanced demon with just physical strength was next to impossible for a human.
…Well, that’s assuming it was an ordinary punch.
“Take this! Explosive Fist, Bakken!”
As Burn’s fist struck the man’s face, it caused an explosion, sending the man flying.
“Argh…!!” The man, spewing smoke from his mouth, fell heavily to the ground, losing consciousness.
The technique Burn used just now, called ‘Explosive Fist,’ was quite characteristic of Burn, as it incorporated explosive magic within his punch, delivering a direct blow to the opponent. Originally inclined towards infighting, Burn had struggled to find synergy between explosive magic and infighting. That’s when he created this technique. At first, people around him thought it was a failed technique since he would also take the full impact of the explosion. However, Burn persevered and practiced this technique every day.
As a result, he successfully gained resilience to being struck and resistance to explosions.
“Phew, that felt good.”
Burn, able to vent the pent-up frustration from being left behind by Ruisha and Wolf, had a refreshed expression.
Leaving Burn to revel in his newfound relief, Ruisha and Wolf hurriedly restrained the demon man again. Seeing their rushed actions, even Burn, who was typically carefree, sensed that something serious was going on.
“What’s the matter? Another troublesome situation?”
“Yeah, actually…”
Ruisha explained what had happened after parting ways with Burn.
Upon hearing it, Burn’s expression darkened.
“They seem to be more dangerous than I initially thought. Anyway, we can’t handle this alone for sure. We’ll have to divide our efforts and seek cooperation.”
“Yeah, you’re right. First, we should contact the knight order. It’s crucial to get their support as soon as possible. And it might be a good idea to ask for help from the adventurers too. If they know we’re in danger, they might lend us their strength.”
“We should also reach out to our classmates. Even if they can’t fight, they might help with evacuating the residents or something.”
“…I don’t want to put everyone in danger, but we have no choice. If we’re too slow, everyone might actually die.”
The three of them divided the tasks and assigned their roles.
They wouldn’t be able to meet until the battle was over, which made their discussion all the more meticulous.
“Alright, for now, this is all we can decide. Both of you, take care.”
“Captain, may luck be with you. Don’t worry about me and just go for it.”
“Haha, even someone like me is starting to feel the tension… I mean, in a good way, of course!”
They bumped their fists together one last time, praying for each other’s success, and then scattered in different directions.
And so, the spark that would ignite a colossal battle shaking the kingdom was finally lit.

Volume 7 Chapter 23 Stirring Malice Begins
The royal guest chamber was adorned with lavish furniture for the guests. Ornate chandeliers illuminated the room, and luxurious sofas made from the hide of magical beasts adorned the space. On a table crafted from trees aged over five hundred years, fresh fruit water was neatly placed.
Uracan, along with his trusted confidantes Urs and Spade, and Minister Granz were present.
Uracan, lost in thought while seated on an expensive sofa, contemplated the upcoming plans. Suddenly, his face tensed with realization.
Noticing this, Urs anxiously inquired, “What’s the matter, boss?”
“Damn, this useless fool. Can’t even handle a simple errand,” muttered Uracan to himself without answering Urs question. Granz, noticing this abnormality, approached him.
“Hey, what’s going on, Uracan? Could there be a problem with the plan?”
“No, Minister, everything is fine. There’s no issue at all. Just a minor slip-up by one of my subordinates.”
While maintaining a calm facade, Uracan couldn’t completely hide his frustration on his face.
Seeing this, Granz grew more anxious. If this plan failed, he would undoubtedly lose his position as a minister. Or worse, he might face capital punishment. Prime Minister Portoferino was known to be a stern individual.
“Wait, a subordinate messed up? What exactly happened?” Granz grabbed Uracan’s shoulder and questioned.
Uracan brushed off Granz hand, looking annoyed. “I said there’s no problem, Minister. Please don’t vex me too much.”
“What…!? Do you not think that your attitude toward me, a minister, is disrespectful!?”
Granz showed his anger at Uracan’s exceedingly disrespectful demeanor. But for Uracan, Granz role was pretty much fulfilled the moment he stepped into human territory. He was already a dispensable entity, waiting to be dealt with. However, there was still one task that could be entrusted to him, and until that was done, he still had a purpose.
So, Uracan suppressed his desire to kill Granz for now and responded with a friendly tone. “I apologize, Minister. It seems I got a little carried away.”
“Fine… Well, as long as you understand. So, what happened in the end?”
While the anger hadn’t completely subsided, Granz decided not to provoke Uracan any further, not knowing what he might do.
“It seems one of the subordinates I sent for reconnaissance outside got captured. It appears they spilled information about us.”
“What!? This is a disaster! What do we do!?”
Seeing the panicked minister, Uracan sighed inwardly.
This was why he hated fools.
It was natural for plans to go awry. In fact, overcoming those obstacles was what made things exciting. Yet, this fool did nothing but stoke anxiety and failed to even suggest a solution. Well, he never really had high expectations to begin with.
“Rest assured, Minister. I have already placed a curse on my subordinates. If they reveal the secret, they’ll use their own magic to explode, killing themselves and anyone who heard the secret.”
“I-is that so? Well, that’s reassuring.”
“Yes, however, it might be prudent to expedite the plan. Minister, please hasten to your discussion with King Floyd. I’ll promptly proceed with the preparations for the ritual.”
Saying this, Uracan stood up and swiftly began packing his belongings.
“Wait a moment, Uracan! Are you saying I have to handle the discussion alone!? I never agreed to that!”
“Yes, I’ve decided just now. What’s wrong? You just need to stall for time by saying something appropriate.”
“Ugh, but…”
“It’ll be fine. If necessary, feel free to create a commotion.”
As Uracan spoke, Granz suddenly changed his demeanor and seemed delighted, asking, “Oh, is that okay?”
Originally a military man, Granz loved conflicts.
“Well, if causing a ruckus is allowed, leave it to me. Hehehe, I might even bring down this entire castle on my own!”
Seeing Granz laughing heartily, Uracan concluded that it would be alright and left the room with his subordinates.
Despite the plans being disrupted by this unexpected trouble, Uracan couldn’t contain the overflowing joy on his face.
“Hehehe… I wonder who, from where, discovered our plan. Please, don’t die from a mere explosion…!”
With a soft murmur, Uracan hurriedly headed toward his destination.
